God has forgotten about it, and we should, as well, and quit condemning him. We are very blessed that God isn't like human beings, or He would keep bringing up our sins we've repented for over and over. If we can't forgive others, Our Father in Heaven isn't going to forgive us of our sins. I'm not a 'follower' of Swaggart, but I have forgiven him.

Tom Wharton That was true of the Catholic Church prior to Vatican II. The rationale was out of concern for good doctrine, as many passages in the Bible are difficult to interpret and apply. Swaggart is the perfect example of someone who should NOT single handedly be interpreting the scriptures!

He also capitalizes "cross," the same as capitalizing "He, Him, Lord" which is his attempt to elevate the cross to the same level as deity / holiness! Shameful!

The Leftist, Braden, doesn't believe at all and instead is a secular humanist, relying on his own reason, thinking probably that if there is some kind of "god" then it is remote, uninterested, etc. and that as long as people behave relatively well it doesn't matter what they believe. Buchanan believes in God and the Bible to some extent, but like most Catholics gives primacy to their church dogmas and the traditions of men, that as the Bible says have all the form of Godliness, but none of the power therein. Both men, just like everybody who has ever been born into this world, know there is a God, and know what he expects and the difference between right and wrong - the reason I know this is because I am a person and I know this and I know everybody else does too! - God created us to know this, it is as inside of a knowledge inside us as birds knowing how to make nest. Rev. Swaggart has simply chosen to be true to this knowledge without compromise; the other two men, to varying degrees do not. Braden not at all, and Buchanan only to the extent that a manmade religio-political organization such as the Vatican is the object of his faith.

Fast forward today, Mr Swaggart was right; forecasting something bad will happened. Go and figure it our.

This always cracks me up when people chide others for "judging" the Swaggarts while completely ignoring their critical, judgmental and hateful words, comments and attitudes! Such blindness!

Jimmy Swaggert stood strong for the Gospel. I was an Armenian and moved to Reformed. The more I studied the Word, the more I am convinced that salvation is only initiated by God. However Jimmy Swaggert was a powerful tool used by God to preach the Gospel.

I know Rev Swaggart has had his faults, but l think he won this debate and he was outnumbered!

Right, basically what is being said about the denominational church is that it regards the sacraments and traditions that are continuously being used as a means of being accepted by God and the Word and Jimmy are saying that God made a way for man's redemption in Jesus at the Cross, that was a price that was demanded by God and a believer Faith in the Cross, is the salvation experience, and no other way God accepts.

No, it's actually quite the opposite it is swaggart that refused to accept the Truth. They called him out and exposed him so other people don't fall for his false teachings. This is why jesus said "my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge" hosea 4:6 People like swaggart spreading their man made doctrines and ignorance keep others from coming into the fulness of the Truth and deprives them of knowledge. I believe Jimmy swaggart is not false and truly loves God and wants to spread God's word always has. He made a mistake and fell with the prostitute at one time, and I'm sure he asked for forgiveness his and God's business. But I must say he is wrong about being saved at 5:59 when he says you just have to accept Jesus in your heart and do not even have to speak a word. The Bible teaches Romans 10:9 confess with your mouth Jesus is lord and believe in your heart he was raised from the dead, and you will be saved. Not hating on Mr Swaggart just saying he did not represent that correctly. Glad they did not call him on it.

@ Billy Escarzaga.... same here.... when Reverend Swaggart said that, I thought to myself "that can't be true, according to both Old and New Testament scripture".... where the utterance (both by God and by His creation) is treated more importantly than anything else.... Even Almighty God, himself (if the Book of Genesis is to be believed), actually "spoke" the creation into existence....

THURZA HEIM The guy comes across as an open person says whats on his mine he calls a spade a spade. I can see he doesn't water it down for anybody. Jesus also said how it is and was firm about it too when it's needed. If this man is not popular for what sin's may have come upon him through the attack of the devil which I have no doubt then why not forgive the man. Just stop for a minute just think how many lost soul came to the father through this man for the glory of the kingdom and the man has fallen.

While I have never been a fan of Jimmy Swaggart, and I disagree with some of his theology, I admire him for the way he handled himself during this meeting. I stopped listening to Swaggart many years before he fell the 1st time. His walk with the Lord is between him and the Lord.

Jimmy should not be allowed to have a church or any mouthpiece where he can influence anyone. He didn't commit the sin of adultery and sexual perversion just once, he continued to sin. When a man loves God and keeps his commandments does not continue to sin against God in the same fashion. Just as David sinned, God forgave David's transgressions, but David never held the same position as before he committed adultery. David no longer held God's favors before. Not to mention, he has physically changed the word of God in his expository Bible. Jimmy is a false prophet and should not be the head of a religious institution. He has a sexual proclivity that makes him unfit to sit in a position of religious persuasion. Bottom line

@@TheCordeliachase81, he's a grifter. He got caught several times and almost lost everything until his wife reined him in. That's when he came up with his con, what he calls the message of the cross. If you look into it, at one point Swaggart said God showed him something that He didn't even show Paul. Essentially Swaggart was saying that God hid something from Christians for 2000 years until Swaggart came along. Jesus didn't hide anything when He walked the earth. He said so after His arrest. Some early Christians claimed to have a hidden knowledge, they were called gnostics, and Gnosticism is a heresy.

This is the truth. You can feel the anointing of this ministry. Most of their congregation and all of there teachers are baptized in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. Jimmy Swaggart fell into a season of sin as many do. He brought reproach to the name of Jesus as I have as well. Gods mercy can be glorified through it. I only began looking at Jimmy Swaggart this year in 2019 in my 30s.My aunt watches this channel a lot, so I finally , after all these years looked at his Sunday show. After all those years, and despite his publicized encounters with prostitutes, he's found a way to have a successful family , TV channel and following( and he's a good singer piano player) , and , if nothing else, that should be admired.

Religion is a farce that has been outgrown by science. It was created as a way to control the masses thousands of years ago, and control them with fear. I been there since 2015, and it has literally exposed the most remarkable things that I had not ever known before and it all fits as a complete puzzle for the purpose for the believer and the requirements of God and the position of man and man's redemption.
