That’s a really a profound insight by Jimmy Carr about “the people who need it”. I’ve been to a lot of comedy shows and 99% of the time I’m great. I arrive in great form and I leave in great form. But on one occasion a few years ago I went to a show after a bad medical diagnosis; looking back it was the best show I’ve ever attended. For two hours I just forgot and during my recovery, whenever times were tough, I just went back to that time. It got me through a lot of challenging times.

It's the thing that some don't realise when it comes to comedians, they are all playing a character. As they say here, they switch it on when needed. That character may be based on some semblance of reality but it isn't really them.

Best show I've ever seen was Dylan Moran in Nottingham. It was the end of a long tour for him and his entire set was aimed at becoming middle aged at a room full of students. He went off a tangent at the end about missing his family and being tired. It was really tender and spontaneous. It Was rare.

Why is there always a grammar teacher lurking in the wings? I thought I'd got rid of you when I turned 18. But no. There you are waiting to surprise me like a jihadist birthday card. I misspelt a word. Ohhh shame on me. I am disbarred from commenting on a KZread video ever again.

Was. Was. I agree it doesn't seem like a word the more you say it, however its pretty fucking obvious what I am saying. But to you it's apparently gibberish. So just pretend it's a meme. You fucking reprobate :)

I love watching comedians explaining their art. Jimmy talking with Frankie Boyle a bout where the boundaries lie was fascinating. I couldn't get a ticket for Ro b's last gig at St Albans, but this interview makes me want to see you all the more. So jealous of Jimmy hanging out with Bruce- have seen Bruce 14 times... Jimmy 3!

I'm one of that minority percent that really appreciates that extra effort Jimmy .... I won't explain it and I don't think I could but it's nice to see there's people that don't require the explanation ..
