Not his usual crowd, this comedy festival is in Canada.
Applause to the camera filters being able to handle how much Mandy shines, from genuine natural reactions, eyes filled with warmth, a smile that could light any darkness, and a contagious laugh!
Just For Laughs is an annual comedy festival which started in Montreal. A lot of old Bill Burr routines were filmed there.
To be fair to him, he did do a good job of realising stopping pretty much the entire set to sort of figure out what the crowd would laugh at and what they wouldn’t have. I think that must be a really great tactic. If ever you’re in a situation, where are you don’t know how to read the crowd in that situation.
Its difficult when its north america. They like happy comedy rather than dark humour. Dark comedy is a very british thing

@MandyCaneLane same! I watched this recently. It's a sort of explanation between the differences of American and British comedy. You might like it. kzread.info/dash/bejne/X6iM19iziq66eZM.html
He tells offensive jokes but there's something about his demeanour that reassures you that they are just jokes.

I think it's his professional appearance and his backwards laugh. It's good that he doesn't smoke. This smoker tried to imitate his inhale laugh, and I had a coughing fit.
Jimmy seems to pick the simple jokes with obvious punchlines when he has an audience that isn't British just so they can get what he's saying 😂
Jimmy Carr is always a great comedian to see live. Always stays behind to meet fans as well which is amazing! His American stuff is mild to his UK stuff. But if you're looking for smart, pushing the barrier comedy, it's Jimmy. Although there's a lot of UK comedians that push that bar, Gary Delaney for one liners and Frankie Boyle for how far you can push it lol. Love the reactions, keep them coming!

I wasn't able to meet him, but I saw him live in Dallas on his Terribly Funny Tour! Very funny!
Omg, that last joke 🤣🤣🤣🤣. I fell from my chair. Jimmy is a genius
What's even funnier is when Jimmy gave that "erect" joke, then Mandy starts talking about the crowd being a tough crowd, and she said that "It must be HARD." 😂 (Seen the 911 clip before) I think you also saw the "Grow up" one before, too. The one you wanted to be a T-shirt. Cause that also sounded familiar. Like de ja vu. I think we heard him say that one in a previous video, too. (The age gap one) I think most agree with you, Mandy, that 10, 15, 20 years is too big of an age gap in relationships.
Great, again. Love your unoffendedness (if that's a word) 😊
I love Mandy Cane Lane! 🤗 It's my favourite channel on YT. (But the Patreon is even better).

I knew your were going to like the last joke Mandy because it was a longer one. I remember that you have said in the past that you prefer longer jokes over quick one liners. But I didn't think you were going to laugh that much, that is the biggest laugh I think I have seen you do. 😁

His laugh sounds like a happy seal.
Yeah most of this crowd seemed to be meeting Jimmy for the first time. He can be weird with his jokes and people are not sure if they should laugh or not at first. He actually has many really good standup shows, this isn't one, although it's not his worst routine.
Wait until you see Frankie Boyle.

The audience would be general and this show would have a number of surprise guests. So it’s a different vibe to a crowd who buy jimmy carr tickets. They’ve already bought into the humour.

Great stuff from Jimmy as ever. Good to see you laugh hard at some of the worse one's. :) Do you think you've opened up a little more since watching so much Brit comedy or still about the same? If that joke was a T-Shirt, would you wear it? hehe. Great stuff. Looking forward to this evening for the Extra's final. I want to see how you reacted to the Ricky/Maggie/big brother/couch scene.

Mandy, Jimmy Carr can be so brutally funny; so funny but it can make my ribs hurt. Tough crowd Montreal, Canada. Make-a-wish joke was funny
It’s either not as usual crowd, or sometimes when I comedian goes on an absolutely kills it. The audience is just so hyped up that, if you’re not as good as the comedian that was before you, even if you’re sat is brilliant apparently it can ruin your set. Or at least according to the various comedian Joe Rogans discuss that with before and this podcast
Age gaps aren't always an issue. One of my ex's was 19 years older than me, and I was with a woman 14 years older than me for a good 10 years.

👍
They were a US or Canadian crowd. You can tell because he pronounced certain things the US way instead of the UK way to cater for them. Like when he said paedophile. We pronounce it peedo-file. Americans say pedo-file. 🤓
Just For Laughs is held in Montreal, Canada. There have been more outthere routines, such as the guy who stuck a Roman candle up his butt. So this was rather tame. Now I'm going to advertise another channel, Just For Laughs Gags. It's good for a 10 minute period of fun.
12:25. Yeah you're right, younger boys wont fancy you anymore You're gonne be 30 .OMG Too much age gap.🤔😁

I mean, when they actually showed the audience, they seemed to be laughing, but sometimes microphones in the audience are quieter than others.
Consider doing the top 10 hilarious offensive stand-up jokes.
As far as I remember, this was at the "Just for Laughs" festival, Montréal. Combo of different sensibilities in the culture, not really knowing Jimmy and Jimmy being a bit tame for the crowd. I saw him twice here in N Ireland, in '05 and '09, he was much more uninhibited.
I'll be honest I don't think I'd walk around in public wearing a t-shirt that said pedophiles on it, no matter how good the punchline is :D

I’m 22 years older than my wife…68/46…we’ve been together 14 years…I’m not rich.. our life is fantastic. She’s from a different culture which helps make it work. I will say this, when we go to get groceries the old ladies (my age) give me a bit of a stink face, but they give her a much worse one…Americans are stunningly judgmental.. but amusing to piss off. Downside is she sees it and it hurts her feelings. I don’t judge fuck all as long as no one is getting hurt..

How does he manage to get away with it!? Not many can. Re: agegaps. When I was 20 I was working in a sandwich bar. The owners at the time were a Greek family with 2 daughters, the youngest was about 12, the oldest 17. So the husband was practically in love with me and one day he asks me how old my girlfriend was (I was in a long-term relationship at the time), 21 I responded. He then tells me that's no good, the ideal age woman for a man is half his age plus 7 years. I pondered on this 'information' and realised that would mean the ideal age for me would be 17. On further pondering, I remembered, his daughter is 17 🤔 hmmmm, interesting I thought. So this is obviously ridiculous and made up because he wants me to date his daughter or something. Not to mention, it just doesn't work out consistently throughout someone's life. If your 20 , then 17 is reasonable, but an 80yo? They should be dating 47yos? Even me, as a 45yo, should be trying to convince 29-30yo that they're the perfect age for me? Sure, I guess that could happen on a rare occasion, but surely this is just a crazy notion that he made up. So I turns out, no! This is actually a fairly common idea in a lot of cultures! I still don't get the logic behind it other than its just an idea that benefits men in a patriarchal society and takes advantage of and subjugates women. Personally, age means very little to me. It really doesn't represent much of anything other than how many years you've been alive. I believe in judging a person and compatibility etc based on the individual, but maybe that's just me. We all just do what works for us. Just thought I'd share that bizarreness with you. Or maybe you've already heard it. Anyway, it's goodnight from me, and it's goodnight from him (one day that will make sense, but by then you will have forgotten that I said it, so it's all meaningless anyway). 🤗👋
@MandyCaneLane

HAHAHAHA! Tell him I said thank you. LOL That is bizarre and seems innapropriate the older one gets. 😅 So by those standards a woman who turns 57 needs to find a 100 year old? Quite a shite deal if you ask me. 🤪 And I am mega weird with ages. Anyone under 28 I see as a child. Maybe that is the teacher in me. Haha. And I just feel like people can relate better when they have common experiences and a lot of those come with age. I can always be wrong though, nothing new about that! 😅🤪

@MandyCaneLane only response to that that I have (because I agree with most of it), is that I believe it's shared experience that solidifies relationships of any kind. Always look forward, never dwell on the past (not suggesting you do). This is a very complex subject.
Tbf, his whole standup career is based on the shock factor of a clean cut guy in a suit going for the dirtiest and darkest punchlines he can think of. This kind of awkward audience reaction is exactly how he made his name. Gross them out but make them laugh in spite of themselves. The only problem with a persona like that, is that it becomes predictable. It's good that he does the panel shows where he can riff off of other comedians, because in his standup he's very much a one-note guy.

Jimmy Carr's materials are incompatible and incomprehensible with the North American audience, the worst thing happens in comedy is when the incommodious crowd emanates bereft of sense of humour, subconsciously demonstrating with their discomfort and circumspection.
Whats the age gap between you and your partner?
