The Sarah Millican joke @ 4:36 was funny because all the other "female" comedians Jimmy compares her too are actually famous cross dressed/drag queen acts. 👍😉😁 The first one he mentions "Lily Savage", was created & portrayed by Paul O' Grady...who sadly recently passed away. 😢

The Peter Serafinowicz skit runs throughout that entire episode, it's brilliant. If you check out a whole episode you could do a lot worse than that one!

Strangways is a prison in Manchester. There was a riot there in the 90's which lasted about 3 weeks. That is what Jimmy was refering to about throwing tiles off the roof, which actually happened during the riot.

That interaction with Peter always cracks me up. That entire episode was amazing...the "abdicates" bit continues well beyond that first interaction. Other hilarious bits were Sean Locke and "what he's most proud of" (embezzling from the RELI, seel clubbing, and rectum of the year) and Joe Wilkenson's urinal poem.

Peter Serafinowicz is a national treasure. I love his point blank aggression towards everything. His timing is absolutely perfect. Seeing people react to Peter for the first time is brilliant because it’s never what he actually says that is funny. It’s people’s reactions to what he says & how he acts after the delivery of the lines, where one by one they start cracking up as the person talking to him is clearly bewildered and not really sure how to handle the random aggression 😂. I loved him in Sean of the Dead playing Pete too, his character was perfect for the type of comic he is. I like it when they’re stood at the bottom of the stairs too afraid to go up & see him - because he might be a zombie…. But he also might not be a zombie & just be himself and extremely angry & abusive 😂😂😂

The canal boat/shopping trolley gag is because sometimes shopping trolleys (carts) get stolen from supermarkets and dumped in rivers/canals. The implication being it happens a lot in Glasgow

Yeah, one of his all time best slams was against Suzy Dent. I think it started with "What have you been looking into..."

Jimmy Carr is one of the most brutal comedians on the circuit and he is the king of slapping down hecklers.

You’re spot on, his best insult was his one to Susie when he says “what have you been looking into this week…apart from glory holes” 😂

Unequal length of leg is rightened by chiropracty. I was about to buy custom-tailored pants (britches) when a friend said "get to be down upon the floor" or "go down upon the floor" of the broad hallway on the first floor of the Washington Hilton Hotel. He adjusted my legs and afterward they were of the same length.

"Lee Mack is French for coat" - Le Mack, I think mack is short for mackintosh, that's a trench coat.

4:20 the guy who looks like Moe is Rich Hall, he's basically adopted British at this point and is one of the few Americans we find funny - dry and self-depricating. He did a bunch of films for the BBC about the roots of various aspects of American culture, political to country music, that are really worth watching. If you didn't get the strangeways joke. Strangeways is a prison in Manchester amd the prisoners back in the 80s escaped amd got onto the roof during a riot.

The American comedian you didn't recognise is the actual inspiration for Moe in the Simpsons. He used to do SNL and was famous in the US for sniglets. Can't remember his name. He's been on UK TV since at least the 90s.

The voice anyway, I think the character was based on a bartender Rich knew who actually did receive prank calls for years. Was Rich a writer on the Simpsons ?

"Cats does countdown" is funnier than the original "8 out of 10 cats" It was a show where they did funny audience surveys with comedians guessing the audience decisions. It was named after a catfood ad, with a tagline of "8 out of 10 cats prefer it". (To answer a question you didn't ask and may already know! Lol). Btw, a great way of getting rid of coughs, is, when you have chocolate, let a lot of it melt in your mouth, so it gets all sticky, then swallow hard, and the chocolate removes any mucus from the back of your nose and throat etc, stopping it reaching your chest. (I've been ill a long time, and discovered this helps better than disgusting cough syrup).

04:10 you're looking at Rich Hall - absolutely fantastic comedian! In fact, if you've ever watched The Simpsons, you'll technically have seen him as Moe the bar tender (not his voice but his appearance was modelled after him). I highly recommend his "Tom Cruise" routine for a future reaction video!
