And ditto for Australia. Last census shows only 43% christians, yet we have a five times lower crime rate per each 1000 people than the highly christian US. That wipes out the notion that you can only have morals if you follow god.🦘

The amount of detentions I got at middle school for questioning my queries about what we was being taught in RE. My Religious Education Tutor, fucking hated me, you could almost see the dread she felt as her prooper twitched like a rabbits nose, every time I raised my hand in class. Logical questions a child has while showing early critical thinking skills, is A BIG NO NO in any Religious sect/cult.

If anything it just shows nature happens because it's a long stretch from floods in places around the world to covering the world a boat full of animals etc. Especially when 12k ago was pre human settlement. The dinosaur meteorite didn't even cover the world with flood water.

Nobody forced anything onto us lol. Science is imperfect at time as well. The theory of evolution has holes as well if we wanted to nitpick. The beauty about the western world is that you do get to believe in a God or ideology without consequence. It seems that atheists are more troubled by a religious person than a religious person is bothered by atheists nowadays. I wouldn’t want to force my religion onto you, why are you so hellbent on your end?

It’s remarkable that in backwards countries like the US that Christian’s were allowed to indoctrinate their children with the “god” nonsense. Look at the dysfunctional mess the US is as a consequence. In the much more civilised Nordic countries, religious indoctrination was made a crime decades ago and life is so much better because most of us are atheist.

The issue with most of the religious is that they don't actually read the sacred scriptures that their belief system is predicated on. As soon as they do, either their religious beliefs become extreme to the point of denial of reality, they adopt a version of their faith that ignores most of their sacred scriptures and buys into a version that plays into their existing value systes, or they become atheists. Best way to turn someone into an atheist is ask them to read the Bible, or Qu'ran or Torah with any kind of critical thinking, and it will take them less than the first book of these tomes to realise that there are serious discrepancies with the way the world actually is, and the way the world is presented in their sacred books. Keep reading, it gets wild....And more and more unbelieveable as anything other than the writings of a bunch of Iron Age goat-herders, fishermen and carpenters who didn't know the earth revolves around the sun, and that demons in the blood don't cause disease.

Yes, I agree. The problem is that many Christian doctrines, and many passages on the Bible, completely contradict the teachings of Jesus Christ, in the gospels. Many so - called Christians ignore those teachings altogether, and prefer OLD testament nonsense and fairytales.

The problem with Christianity/religion, people take it as absolute truth. Religion should be used as guidelines teaching morals and how to use a free will responsibly. Not to kill not to steal ect. The stories ARENT fact, it’s the moral lesson, which people confuse not that these things happen and that’s just a way for us to be able to interpret them.

If Noah only saved two of each animal, what did he sacrifice at the end? One of the animals? Thus extinguishing a whole species... Or maybe fish? Or one of his family?

I've seen a meme where some children's books of the story have shown two male lions! I'm all for that but not sure how God's intention of procreation would work there! I guess for an illustrator or children, the mane of a male lion is much more distinctive than depicting a female

probably one or two of the clean animals of which there were 7 pairs, "Of every clean animal, take with you seven pairs, a male and its mate". Clean animals being those land animals that chew the cud and have a divided hoof, such as cattle, deer, goats, and sheep. Every animal that has a split hoof not completely divided or that does not chew the cud is unclean, such as pigs, rabbits, and hares.

Hinduism considered the oldest established religion is approximately 9000 years old and Judaism the second oldest at about 4000 years old. In relative terms religion is a new idea.
