This was such a great song and performance from these two singers. For my first time hearing Jimmy I am blown away. His voice is unreal. Really magnificent. Jimmy and John just compliment and work so well with each other. What do you think about this song? What do you think about the performances from each singer?

The fun things is that the guy sitting at the table playing guitar is another Aussie rock hero Johnny Diesel > kzread.info/dash/bejne/h6uAuKqsl5m1mLA.html He's definitely not in the league of Barnsey and Farnsey, who are bonafide Aussie Music Royalty, but he was also no random guitarist.

Only took approx a month for the girls to change their minds, once they discovered INXS, Cold Chisel, Farnsey and AC/DC - things weren't that bad after all lol

Our most beloved Australian Scott, died just recently. He was a beautiful chef that embraced Aboriginal cuisine/ingredients for his cooking. My Nan was born here, but her parents hail from Scotland. I also have Irish, English, German and French heritage. I’m an Aussie through and through and absolutely love this beautiful land. I have many family members who have gone to war in the name of the Anzacs to protect the country and people. I agree that you can hear Jimmy’s accent when he talks, but it is not as thick as yours. Jimmy is my favourite artist. Jimmy had a hard upbringing and was first in a band called Cold Chisel. There are two singers in this band, being Jimmy and Ian Moss who also plays a mean 🎸. Their harmonies are 🔥 Other duets with Jimmy include him and Tina Turner with a song Simply the best, with Sam Moore with a song Soothe me, with Marcia Hines (American born to Jamaican parents but moved to Australia at the age of 16 and stayed ever since) with a song called Fire and Rain, the guitarist here, Diesel with Since I fell for you (there is a version where they talk prior to singing if you want to hear his speaking voice), with Aussie band INXS singing Good Times that was a song in the movie called the Lost Boys and basically anything from his concert called Flesh & Wood where he literally sings with different guests. PS Jimmy’s brother is a singer too and his name is Swanee. He has some solo songs and was in a band called the Party Boys. His children can sing too, especially his daughter daughter Mahalia Barnes and son David Campbell. Happy listening…. He has been singing since the 70’s so there is a lot of material out there. PS - same goes for Johnny Farnham in the musical talent.

Absolute classic. awesome reaction! Your face when Jimmy started singing was priceless! They compliment each other so well, so glad you did this song. Jimmy grew up in Adelaide, South Australia where I'm from and in 1975 our high school was lucky enough to have a free concert by Jimmy in his band Cold Chisel...awesome stuff!

i think this might be the first time Jimmy Barnes has ever been described as having a buttery-snooth, silky voice! he's an absolute screamer - so much so that he actually does some whole new thing with his vocal cords. check old cold chisel, and Jimmy's brother Swanee (John Swan).

Makes me want to go to Scotland. You rock mate. I'm definitely subscribing to your channel. Much love from Queensland Australia 🦘💜

I was one of the ladies that loved it. It was released as a single & I bought the single cassette to sing along to in the car (blaring). You may need to find out about cassettes. BTW John F was originally English, came out to Australia from Dagenham Essex when he was 10 like Barnsey did from Scotland. Diesal the guitarist is Jimmy's brother in law & writer & soloist as well.

Never heard Jimmy’s voice described as buttery smooth before…you need to listen to more of Jimmy’s music😇 This song is from Jimmy’s album that specifically explored the older soul type standards. It’s a pretty good album. In this duo, John’s voice steals the show (and I think Jimmy is ok with that John Diesel is the guitarist who is a great vocalist, guitarist and solo act in his own right The stars aligned somehow for this track, didn’t they…it is all sorts of perfect

Jimmy and John are national treasures 🖤🥰🖤 Jimmy's brother has an amazing voice too. We had a TV show in the 70s and 80s called Countdown on the ABC network hosted by Molly Meldrum with heaps of Aussie talent, it's a little bit like Top of the Pops 'sort off'. There's heaps of clips on KZread.🖤

Loved this, and knew you would, too. Lead singer in Cold Chisel for years. Big in Europe, probably in Scotland back in the day. You should check out his Stone Cold collab with Joe Bonomassa, then move over to Simply the best, with Tina Turner, then Do you love me with Josh Terskey. The rabbit hole is long

Great reaction. Knew you'd love it! Farnsie and Barnsie have always been brilliant together. The guitarist Diesel (Mark Lizotte) who is also Barnsie's brother in-law is a very taletnted artist in his own right. If you want to react to more soul checkout Barnsie and his son David Campbell, or to hear the flipside of Barnsie's talent checkout the band Cold Chisel and their songs Khe Sanh, Forever Now, Working Class Man, Bow River to name a few.

Great reaction. Most of us had our eyes fixed on you for your first reaction of Jimmy. We knew it would be classic. It was. As many have said Jimmy is a huge star in his own right and like John is legendary. Some great songs from Jimmy are Wild Thing, Bow River ( another great singer Ian Moss takes the lead, youll love it) and When the war is over. All brilliant.

We are both a very throaty, yet very nasal people what can I say😂 I think because we open our mouths so much when we enunciate vowels and stuff, it just shows in all of our singers especially the accents coming from this era, producing this sort of artist

He's from Glasgow!! Try and listen to any interview with him then tell me he's not Scottish!! I'm a proud Scot living in Australia. Jim used to hang out with my sister and brother in law so I remember him. He used to sing Scottish ballads to me as a wee lass.
