❣Jimin “Set Me Free Pt.2’, it’s everything & more then I could hope for, Jimin’s amazing artistry, his so beyond spectacular,, so mesmerizing, phenomenal performance! The song, Jimin’s vocals, his dancing, the amazing choreography, also the amazing backup dancers, the lyrics he wrote, the music he composed as well as being involved in the production! Jimin was hands on, involved with every facet! No wonder the in-house legendary producer for BigHit Pdogg, who worked with Jimin throughout the whole album, stated that “in 2023 K-pop will be ended by Park Jimin”! Seeing this made me that much more excited, for the full album, Jimin’s “FACE” released on March 24, along with his main song ‘Like Crazy’ MV. Jimin’s other songs “Face-Off”, “Alone”, as well as hidden track “Letter” are all equally amazing! Though Jimin’s song ‘Set Me Free Pt.2’, blew me away , meeting all my expectations & then some, I was also not totally surprised, because indeed Jimin is now ‘set free’ from the confines of being part of a group, to now be able to open up full throttle and ‘finally’ be able to release all that he held back for so many yrs! Jimin has been involved in every facet of creating this album! Hands on all the way, perfectionist that he is, including writing lyrics, composing, as well as being heavily involved in production! Jimin’s true, real, inner self will be finally seen in all its raw, authentic, amazing, heartfelt, passionate, emotional, sincere glory! This is aside from Jimin’s full range, hardly ever being shown, aside from high notes, but being finally able to show his full registry, mid range as well as lower registry as well! I’ve always been so frustrated not being able to see as well as hear Jimin’s full capacity of talent. Jimin is a classically trained dancer. He has a natural abilty that led his dance teacher to offer to pay for his tuition. He also can dance hip hop. When BTS did Black Swan that video was made for him. He is the swan. a fluid and graceful dance. Yes this was all him singing with some background vocalists and some autotune. We also got a little sample of rapper Jimin. I wish he would do that a little more. Even though he has a natural high voice, he does a growl that is amazing.

Jimin wrote this song during the pandemic when he was going through a lot of depression due to their tour and all their schedule being cancelled. Stuck inside with nothing to do but drink. He talks in the song about Hennessy at night, and mentions twice about being stuck in the maze. I think that maze was his depression and he was trying to be set free from his own sadness and uncertainty. Not to mention that their Map of the Soul 7 album was released right before quarantine, which reached an even larger audience than they had had previously, bringing with it a whole new batch of haters and internet trolls which they had more time to dwell on without being too busy every day.

@Staying Off Topic , yeah It was layered vocals of park Jimin you can see that they use some auto tune but he doesn’t need autotune you know that he’s got great vocals! Auto tune was used for aesthetic purposes! There was some backtracking as far as the vocalization of like a choir that was used. By the way he was not completely tatted all over his chest that was a German poet, Rilke The words, “I live my life and widening circles” was written on his chest. This song was something that expressed how he felt during the pandemic when he was unable to express himself artistically or able to escape from his room because of Covid so this is a song that he wants a releasing of captivity and get his freedom and he doesn’t give a bleep you know what about any oppositions he wants his freedom to keep on expressing his artistic Music talents!💜

Thanks. This is a performance art. Jimin helped with some of choreo too as told by some dancers. Plus we can see in the behind scenes in Bangtan TV. It was Jimin's idea the opening bit. Sienna helped a bit but it was choreographedby in house team led by Bangster. You can see in yt credits in official mv :) Jimin helps in some BTS choreo like the famous Bulletproof pt2 hat trick. It was his idea.

The dancers were trying to trap him & keep him from being free. It's the end song on his EP FACE which follows his story of being trapped in depression. It's like listening to a story & is extremely emotional because they are his valid feelings emotions pain & struggles to get to setting himself free. It is well worth a listen if you like emotional lyrics with meaning. He also wrote his album. A lot of people have found themselves connect deeply with FACE through their own struggles. In Jimin's video diary you find out how it was made & although he was in a great frame of mind at the time of creating FACE how he allowed himself to find those dark places again so he could portray his emotions with his voice. You can not only hear his pain but feel it too. It's an absolute masterpiece.

I still stop to watch this video every time it comes on in the cycle of my playlist. He said this album is the story of how he felt going through the oandemic, being shut in and cut off from the life he knew. I think, to one extent or another, we can all relate to those feelings. Add the stress of his life, being judged with every little thing he does, it has to be intense. Fame has so many positives but there is a heavy price one pays for that attention. I am glad you all likes the song and got around to experiencing it.
