If you want to see the actual homage to MJ watch the choreo version. But don't forget it is JUNGKOOK up there with the top tier dance and pristine vocals. Many people are forgetting to mention this!💜

Yes this is a homage to Michael Jackson. That's clear to everyone. It sounds familiar because It is reminiscent of the same funk disco era. And as much as I love it I don't understand why everyone seems so surprised. Performers have been emulating Michael Jackson for decades so it's not something out of the ordinary.

I just wanted to mention, while choreography is homage to MJ, the music video was inspired by Romeo and Juliet (especially the one with Claire Danes & Leonardo DiCaprio). The MV director called JK the perfect Romeo.

71 year old Army here. This truly has nothing to do with Kpop other than JK is S. Korean. All of JK's solo releases including his just released album "Golden" are all in English. There are no S. Korean songwriters, producers, recording studios or MV shooting directors or locations, etc. He is blowing past Kpop and jumping head first into the American pop market. For all of his solo releases he is using American Grammy Award winning songwriters, producers, recording in the U.S. and filming at mostly U.S. locations such as Universal Studios in Hollywood. This one, however, is an abandoned power plant in Budapest, Hungary. No green screen. There is a photo online if the exterior with that that cool glass room. The director is a very famous Ukrainian director who has directed for Harry Styles and many others. His self professed dream of being a giant pop star is clearly beginning in a big way! BTW, there are now 3 live performances. iHeart Radio, Jimmy Fallon Show, The Today Show, and there is a KILLER Official Choreo Version. Thank you guys for another great reaction! 💜
