Jungkook sang the 2022 FIFA World Cup official soundtrack song "Dreamer". He also performed it live at the opening ceremony. Please check it out. The set and concept of this music video was inspired by the movie Romeo and Juliet by Baz Luhrmann. Jungkook is the main vocalist of the group. He use to rap in earlier BTS songs. This is the title track of his solo debut album "Golden". The dance here is homage to MJ. The album is all in English. JK said he wanted to try different genre of music and wanted to challenge himself. He appeared in various shows to promote his album. He also did a short mini concert on time square and only gave fans 30 minutes notice where he sang five of his songs from his album. You'll love it for sure. It's amazing! 71 year old Army here. Just so you know, none of JK's solo releases have anything to do with Kpop other than JK is S. Korean. All of JK's solo releases including his just released album "Golden" are all in English. There are no S. Korean songwriters, producers, recording studios or MV shooting directors or locations, etc. He is blowing past Kpop and jumping head first into the American pop market. He is using American Grammy Award winning songwriters, producers, recording in the U.S. and filming at mostly U.S. locations such as Universal Studios in Hollywood. This one, however, is an abandoned power plant in Budapest, Hungary. The director is a very famous Ukrainian director who has directed for Harry Styles and many others. His self professed dream of being a giant pop star is clearly beginning in a big way! BTW, there are now at least 3 live performances. iHeart Radio, Jimmy Fallon Show, The Today Show, and there is a KILLER Official Choreo Version. He recently performed 5 songs at the TSX stage in Times Square, NYC. Only the third artist to ever been invited to perform there. You should react to the "Usher Remix Performance video of this song that just dropped. It is ICONIC and a dream come true for JK. JK's solo achievements are the biggest of the group. JK is called Golden maknae for no reason because He is good in everything.

The mv is a visual homage to Baz Luhrmann's Romeo and Juliet. In the movie, Juliet has wings when she meets Romeo( BTS has many wing references as well) So, in case you didn't know, Romeo and Juliet are from 2 families' blood feuding. (Hence the fighting limo drivers) They fall in love despite the fact they shouldn't be together. She is in white, he's in black and by the end she is in black too. "Deny thy father, and refuse thy name." The music is an homage to MJ. Reminds me of Rock With You and Heartbreak Hotel(particularly the structure). This song is brilliant something that has been missing from modern music. Bass and drums!!!! 🤣 😘💜🫶🏻🫰🏻

The fight scene at the end is also a callback to MJ's mv You Rock My World (the really long mv with Chris Tucker) where MJ and his crew dance in back while everyone else fights in front. I also think they are paying homage to Quincy Jones - the music production screams his style from the late 70s and 80s - Quincy also produced MJ's Off the Wall, Thriller and Bad albums along with a ton of other people. Part of the sound comes from Cirkut, who produced this song but also did Starboy for The Weekend (another MJ influenced artist).

8:34 I was thinking about this years ago, because they would SLAY at the Super Bowl half-time show. I used to think, yes they deserve to be performers there, but at the time, at least for me, I was personally worried they will receive a lot of racial slurs (whether in stadium or those watching TV) and push back from the overly passionate football stans. They already deal with racism/discrimination, but Super Bowl is the highest rated program show in America and I couldn’t bear to see them get so much hate. Like, BTS were huge already by 2019, but somehow they got even bigger with every month and year that there’s no denying that everyone now knows they exist and even know a few songs. So I think it’s time for them to be invited to the Super Bowl half-time show for 2026 (since they come back from serving in the military 2025). That’s a good time to have their comeback :)

WOW another BTS reaction in less than a day, I'm being spoiled lmao I'm glad you guys have liked this song so much. It's an absolute banger. This song is the main track of JK's album "Golden". No skips on the album BTW lol. Altough he did not participate much in the writting and production of the songs, this kind of album is something he has been wanting to do for a long time. He said he wanted to be an artist that could do any genre, including a more typicial western pop sound, so the ENTIRE album is in english, which meant JK had to put in a lot of effort bc he doesn't dominate the language. He recorded basically one song a day for this album which is crazy fast if you know anything abt recording music. It's a shame western award shows don't nominate him for the normal "pop" categories and he gets automatically put under "kpop" just bc he's korean.... The choreos for the songs are amazing and he has done some breath talking live performances for the songs "Seven", "3D" and "Standing Next to You". He also did an entire set with audacy where he also performed "Closer to You ft. Major Lazer". He also did a surprise live show in NY and managed to get a massive crowd even though there was no real promotion leading up to it (bc it was a surprise), army heard the news a few hours before and just showed up to support him, it was PACKED. This MV also takes inspiration from the movie Romeo and Juliet (1996) directed by Baz Luhrmann staring Leonardo DiCaprio, Baz even made a tweet praising the music video and said he was happy to see a next generation of gifted artists like JK still being inspired by the movie. And also curious facts: the woman in the MV is an Ukrainian model and activist named Pasha Harulia. And JK's backup dancers are actually really famous dancers and choreographers who performed with JK on multiple of his live performances for this song. AND JK JUST RELEASED THE PERFORMANCE VIDEO FOR THE REMIX VERSION OF THIS SONG WHICH FEATURED USHER. IT'S A REALLY GOOD LISTEN AND WATCH BC THE DANCE MOVES GO CRAZY, EVEN IF YOU DON'T REACT TO IT, IT'S WORTH CHECKING IT OUT. Y’all’s timing is interesting. Yesterday he release a performance mv of the remix of this song with USHER, one of his biggest childhood influences. Another childhood influence, Justin Timberlake did a remix of his song “3D”. There isn’t an mv for it, just the song. The live version of this song, “Seven” and “Hate You” on iHeart is with a band. Really good. They have the videos separated for each song.

Excuse me, but these young men of BTS have been working hard before Military Enlistment preparing loads of new content for our listening & viewing pleasure before Jin’s return in June 2024 & J-hopes return in October 2024. The remaining members will return from Military duty in June 2025 & BTS’s reunion as a group.

💯 MJ inspired! We'll have to wait until 2025. The last 4 members (RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook) enlisted in the military last week. It is required for all able bodied men in South Korea to enlist between ages 18-28. Jin went a year ago, and J-Hope went in last March, and SUGA was in September. The last 4 decided to go in earlier so that they can all be back together in 2025. 💜

Well, the reason you haven’t seen BTS on Super Bowl is because the American music industry is very very vested in blocking them. The main reason being Big Hit/Hybe(their label) does not cater to the companies here or pay their way. Their growth and their position was organic and army works very hard to make sure they are successful.

Jungkook is the main vocalist in BTS. In most K-Pop group structures there are mains and leads and they are two different things. As you rightly pointed out this isn't homage to Michael Jackson one of JK's big influences. Also according to the director the visuals were meant to be reminiscent of the 1996 Romeo and Juliet movie with Leonardo DiCaprio.

The limos, the gang fight and the beginning where there’s an emblem or badge of JK’s name all reference Romeo and Juliet(as was confirmed by the video director) The song says Standing Next to you. So no matter what parts of the world they may be in such as opposite sides as referenced above(heaven and hell, Romeo and Juliet etc), he will keep standing next to you
