Love JR’s insight. He’s such a joy to listen to. Him and Jim Cornette!

Bret was definitely telling the truth on this one. He sold the hell out of that super kick - snapped his jaw back and flopped over into the wheelchair like Shawn had killed him. Why take that bump if you’re phoning it in? JR is extremely fair in his analysis and characteristically eloquent in delivering it. Bell-to-bell, Bret is the best of all time for me. He always favoured story over spectacle, or steak over sizzle, though he had flair when needed (E.G. that suicide dive). We were lucky to get the top two wrestlers, arguably of all time, in tandem. Shawn was and remains mesmerising above measure.

I don't believe for one second that everyone in the WWE, with the exception of Bret and Owen, was against homophobia. Shawn, Triple H and several of the boys from the south were objectively homophobic. Triple H and Shawn were projecting their own taste for elephant trunks onto the storyline in the form of telling Bret to say how gay they are. Their idea, not Bret's. I'll also place blame on Vince for allowing it.

DX were a homosexual group. Think about it. A group of grown men asking other men for oral on a nightly basis. Sounds homosexual to me. Just weird that none of the members are actually gay.

@bigolebot dipshit I was born in 79. I saw the war to settle the fucking score. But keep ignoring everything else people say to fit your agenda. You hate Bret we get it. But without him carrying a company through its dreariest periods with the thinning roster the company would have been in a worse state. Again like I said if you had Austin starting up in 95 main eventing against Mabel hakushi and Backlund like Bret had to.....nothing changes. But Bret chose to elevate everyone including Austin and when wrestling started to pick up again Austin was ready. Nobody denied that. But he had help and Bret basically got them through. But keep ignoring that hater

If people are giving Bret cues and telling him to wrap it up for the finish then seeing as Bret had been in the business so long he’d know the cues, Bret wanted to say what he wanted to say before finishing and was more concerned with that then the plan. I’ve always said that Shawn and Bret were both as bad as each other but Bret never got as much criticism because Shawn was hated by most backstage and known to be a prick, Bret was always calculated and clever in how he went about things whereas Shawn was all emotion so would do things in the heat of the moment.

Bret Hart always had jealousy for the guy that was prettier than him lmfao. He always saw Shawn as a threat and always threw sly disses at him. It’s no wonder montreal happened the way it did. Both of them are to blame tho but I favor shawn because Bret is just another one of those guys that always criticized shawn’s style. The funny thing all the future talent looked up to both of them, but most of them were massively influenced by Shawn Michaels.
