Check out this just released video from Jim Harbaugh's 2004 speech celebrating Michigan Football's 125th yr & tell me if their is any doubt that he Loves Everything about the University of Michigan & our Coach Bo Schembechler. NO one associated with the University of Michigan should EVER question Jim Harbaugh's commitment and passion to the only university he loves and to his former coach. I challenge every former player & Michigan supporter to watch this video and not be proud as hell that Jim Harbaugh is one of us!!! On May 21st - May 22nd 2004 more than 700 former University of Michigan football players, coaches, trainers, managers & doctors convened in Ann Arbor for a grand reunion to celebrate 125 years of history, tradition & athletic excellence. The attending Team 125 players & former football alumni heard from the four living Michigan Head Coaches at the time ( Bump Elliot, Bo Schembechler, Gary Moeller, Lloyd Carr) a video message from the late former President Gerald R. Jim Harbaugh is a GREAT man and an awesome coach. He is my favorite player at Michigan ever to have played. He is the man for the time. I hope he rises to the occasion and becomes are head coach. Success, in my opinion, will be his. No other job offers him the respect, admiration, and sense of family that MICHIGAN will give him. He will be revered like Bo is revered. He embodies Michigan's toughness, confidence, and greatness. He was that as a QB. He will be that as a coach. God in Heaven, I hope he comes back to Michigan. Michigan will be back and on top if he does. Yost, Crisler, Schembechler, and Harbaugh will be his legacy.

I came here because I was responding to a bunch of entitled Michigan fans who are already calling for Jim's head after a 10 win regular season all because of a bad loss to Ohio State. I hate losing to those guys as much as the next person, but it seems many Michigan fans have some crazy sense of entitlement that because we won a national title in 1997 we should be doing that every year, I guess? I think many fans and alum calling for Lloyd Carr's head is also what sent him to retirement perhaps a little earlier than he wanted all because he lost close games to a couple opponents fans thought we had no business losing to. I think football fans have lost perspective what it is a COLLEGE football program is supposed to do. Jim touched on it here. A program like this is supposed to be character building and help you prepare for life after college and life after football. Only a small handful will have an NFL career that goes anywhere. Everyone else will have to rely on something else as a back drop. Michigan has more strict academic standards than many competing football programs. Michigan generally also plays by the rules. I remember hearing ages ago how many programs were skirting NCAA rules on limits to amount of hours teams can practice during the day or week. But not Lloyd Carr's Michigan program. They follow the rules to a T. It's the combination of this team's integrity to try and do things the right way while still maintaining a high level of excellence on and off the field that gets my ultimate respect, even if we don't win every game all the time. Arguably, the occasional loss is character building in a good way. At some point in everyone's lives there will be disappointment, and what a good athletic program like this does is help teach you how to rebound from it, identify where you can improve yourself and go at it again. Dust yourself off and keep going. Never quit. Sadly, it seems too many fans have lost the plot and it's become rather infuriating to hear so many of them call for this man's head. This program would almost certainly go right back to the "3 years and out" head coach carousel while not getting the program back to where it is now and where it was under Lloyd and Bo. Yes, I want this team to win. But I don't want it at the expense of integrity.

I think he gets michigan to 9 wins next year, 10 or 11 the next year, then the college football playoffs in 2017. Oh and going 3-0 against the fuckeyes in that period.

+Dustin Hills.. Harbaugh grew up in Palo Alto. Got his first real coaching gig from AL Davis with Raiders during Super Bowl run. Harbaugh is friends with Mark Davis. Coached San Diego college, Stanford, and 49ers. He's huge A's fan..... All CALIFORNIA man. NFL window of opportunity is small. Amateur ball is always open. I'll put my hypothesis on Oakland unless Davis and him don't wrinkle out the details. Michigan is nice job, but still kids.

ibrahimi220 he's no longer wanted at the elite level by any team that can contend for a championship any time in the near future.

+bayzhit.. He's the best coach available in the NFL. There are a number of trams willing to pay him top dollar to coach for them and make them better. He's a proven winner at every level. It's not as if Michigan is a top team right now. Michigan is just as bad as Oakland or the Jets.

+Dustin Hills... There's only ONE league. One place for GROWN men to play football. And it's not a place where Anthropology 101 is taught. It's the NFL. He will be a Raider. At 8+ million a year. And he can step down to kids whenever he wants. Like lots of NFL coaches.

He's not coming to Michigan, Because he knows Championships gotta go through Columbus/Urban & he can't beat OSU! Go Buckeyes!

I know OSU people are losing a lot of sleep over the thought that the "maize n blue" will return to domination under Harbaugh, but whether it's him or not, it's going to happen. Traditional powers always go thru down times periodically, BUT THEY ALWAYS RETURN. Everybody outside the big ten knows Michigan is and will always be the class and power of that conference whatever the records may be. OSU always shows itself envious of that fact, even when they have better teams. Michigan has class, and OSU always falls short of that. Things are just out of order when UofM doesn't have it's foot standing on OSU's ugly helmut.

One, I see you can't do math; Michigan won in 2000, 2003, 2011, and...... Two, and in dominant fashion in 2021!

Bahahahaha It’s now 2021. The Ohio State Buckeyes are back in the Natty. Hairball and the Woefulverines still haven’t beaten us or won a conference championship. 2-4 in 2020 and loss to a bad Sparty team. Ryan Day is recruiting 5 stars like Bama. Love reading these comments.
