As gracious as you’d expect a Michigan fan to be. Maybe he was influenced by the fact JH spent 8 years trying to do what Saban did in 2. Maybe his expectations were set that by now, a great coach such as Saban would have won 5 championships over the same amount of time that JH has had. Anyway Michigan did win it all. First outright championship (unshared) since 1948 so enjoy it.

to be fair, we/ Harbaugh had to reinvent the defense 3 times! to finally beat osu. if it wasn't for Meyer, michigan would have had at least 5 bigten titles. however, if it wasn't for osu pushing us so hard, we probably would have never won the national title.

They deserve this championship. Harbaugh put together a team that will be remembered as truly remarkable. I, for one, hope he goes to the NFL! LOL FINEBAUM... Harbaugh got to this point by going back to his roots which centered upon hard work and building a brotherhood culture at Michigan. He hired Sherrone Moore and Jesse Minter to compliment his already vast knowledge of the game while recruiting selfless players with potential that would play for Michigan. It was vital that all involved understood that being selected to be a part of the Michigan football program was an opportunity to be a part of something bigger than themselves.... THE TEAM... THE TEAM.... THE TEAM. The reason Finebaum didn't understand what Harbaugh was doing is because his knowledge of college football tops out at counting 5 Star recruits.

Not true. It's because Harbaugh didn't know what he was doing but he ended up lucking out when new personnel came aboard to help him. Besides, the five star ranking didn't start until 2002. Paul was 42 and he was knowledgeable about football by the time he was ten or twelve, unlike Harbaugh.

Winning the time of possession and flipping the field betting on the other team to eventually make the back breaking mistake... Michigan football is not high flying or enticing to the eyes compared to the teams that air it out week in, week out... Football... No matter what offense or defensive scheme you run has always come down to blocking, shedding blocks, tackling, tackling in space... Football is still won in the trenches... I respect and admire him for admitting he's been proven wrong and not making excuses or exceptions. Georgia only lost once...this year. Michigan didn't lose this year. Georgia should've tried that and maybe they would've had a shot at the title. You can't give a trophy to a team who didn't even earn a shot to play for one.

McFarland is spot on when he says the turning point was when Harbaugh finally fired Don Brown (about 3 years too late). Don Brown's overly aggressive defenses piled up stats against weaker teams, but when facing teams with equal talent (Ohio State, Bowl game teams), his defensive schemes were exposed. Kudos to McFarland for stating the truth.

What I’ve said for a long time is that harbaugh is not liked by many people, so when something negative happens, like a rare Michigan loss, people line up to crucify him. They also knew that if he stayed he’d win the championship eventually so they had to get in their shots while they could. Too bad he didn’t win that superbowl he reached in the nfl. Then he’d be less likely to go back. Has there been a coach to win the college natty and superbowl?

As gracious as you’d expect a Michigan fan to be. Maybe he was influenced by the fact JH spent 8 years trying to do what Saban did in 2. Maybe his expectations were set that by now, a great coach such as Saban would have won 5 championships over the same amount of time that JH has had. Anyway Michigan did win it all. First outright championship (unshared) since 1948 so enjoy it.

Ask me to be gracious after Paul spends a few years being gracious to the B1G. Paul deserves his lumps after all the trash he has talked, and he should take them gracefully. The SEC has Always cheated, and NIL is only now leveling the playing field. And Bama had a more talented team than UM this year, but still lost to the better, more well-coached team.

Michigan was a better team than UGA all year according to advanced stats and the eye test, but UGA got #1 and the benefit of the doubt because of the two prior years. In the end, UGA was not even the best team in their conference and Michigan beat the team that had just beat UGA. Short of a direct head to head (which UGA did not earn), there is no more definitive measure. @@HTHAMMACK1

Finebaum was on the anti Harbaugh wagon.....How could you ignore Washingtons total defense was ranked about 94th in the NCAA. Absolutely horrendous to win a NC. Their offense carried the season. Last night gave up over 305 rushing yards a new CFP record. The first quarter Michigan seemed to exhausted themselves with those big plays. Caught their breath in the 4th quarter.

How can you give Harbaugh credit for Washington being ranked 94th? That's why Michigan won not because of the mistake prone Harbaugh who killed momentum before the first half with a silly decision to go for it at midfield. He even admitted it to losing momentum, to his credit, when he spoke to the interviewer at half time.
