The difference is football players still get paid even if they’re hurt and not playing. Back in the day if a wrestler couldn’t work he wasn’t getting paid so they’d work hurt.

Sure they pretend to get hurt to try and win an advantage but they get straight back up, when soccer players genuinely get hurt it's normally torn muscles/ligaments, concussions (from clashing heads), broken bones ect... Playing on contract from age 16-38, they have to heal injuries properly for the sake of their careers, same goes for all competitive athletes, look at an average wrestler's life span, they die very young because of the punishment they put their bodies through. Working through injuries isn't though, it's plain stupid.

On a different day I left the gym and saw Pistol Pez Whatley and another wrestler and got talking to them when outta nowhere Savage sucker punches me Savage had his car parked on top of a hill and it was packed with guys so me and Savage are rolling around like a couple of women and it being a 3 on 1 situation I get to my car hoping it's not locked so I can pop the trunk to get my briefcase that has my gun hoping that the case isn't locked when Randys dad Angelo comes out of nowhere so I get to the trunk and thankfully the case isn't locked and I get the gun and put it to Angelo Poffos head and tell them that until they go away my gun stays. When I get home there is a warrant for my arrest so I go to court and Angelo comes up to me and says we need to go Broadway with this and I said no way because I will win so I go to a payphone and call Jerry Jarrett and ask him what he wants because it will affect his territory and he says it's up to you and I say no it's up to you it's your territory and long story short me and Savage are up before a judge and we both say we want to drop the charges against each other so the case gets thrown out" That is Bill Dundees version of what happened it's not Verbatim of what he said and I don't know if it's true or not but I will link it when I find it so you can watch for yourselves. J.R. Benson I agree, Roop had been a college football player, collegiate wrestler, amateur Greco-Roman wrestler and an Army Special Forces medic. He would have stepped up to Billy Robinson ... and would have gotten destroyed. Billy Robinson was the real deal, as tough and skilled as anyone.

The fact that anyone was/is capable of enjoying a Hogan match over a Savage match, seriously makes me question how intelligent we supposedly are as a species. At their match at WM where the mega powers collided, Savage jumped damn near 3/4 across the ring AND had sustained hang time. Hogan being invincible, kicked out, hulked up, hit the big boot & leg drop, and Saved got the 3 second tan. Life is beyond unfair. #ripmachomanrandysavage BTW I do believe he took a page out of the legendary James Brown's book and "hit it & quit it" as far as Stephanie is concerned.

That is not the true story. I was a member of American Fitness Center there in Goodlettsville Tn. I have know realized that Mr Cornette is just full of BS in these post. I was there when this happened and this the facts. Steamboat Patterson distracted Dundee then Randy Poffo ran from behind a car a sucker punched Dundee with a pair of brass knucks. It broke the bone above Dundee's eye and not his jaw as cornette says. And they did go to Nashville court and the judge dismissed the case due to it being a he said he said situation. Get the facts straight before you tell a story please

He did say it was "as he heard it". Meaning he probably heard it from a reliable source and he is just repeating what he was told. I've found Cornette to be one of the only reliable sources for these kinds of stories.
