Same in Tennessee. We had to use Google Maps because the GPS in the car started crying and getting a bad attitude when asked to find a way through the Tennessee Hills.

Meeting MR. Cornette was the highlight of my year. He was right about the food place. Before the event I waited 20 minutes for one slice of pizza, and they had 6 people working at 2pm! I saw Cornette walking to the production meeting while I was waiting there, and it had already been 10 plus minutes waiting.

I went to the Wheeling WV show & Jim Cornette & Sam Adonis were the absolute highlights of the event. I had a great time!

I can listen to Jim tell his stories for hours...And I do

I have spent years complaining about the food and amenities (or lack thereof) at the various casinos in St. Louis. I will never again complain about the quality or availabilty of food in the various casinos of St. Louis. "It could be worse, you could be in Wheeling" will forever be in the back of my mind during late-night poker sessions in the future...

Jim your gambling strategy is the same as what my Grandpa taught me. I'm pushing 40 by the way. Also as a child who moved around a lot, across the country, you were my childhood. Oddly enough I always felt at home whenever I turned on the TV to watch wrestling you were on the shows. This was the 80' and early 90's before cable so being able to enjoy my favorite manager eased always being the new kid.

I love listening to Jim talk so passionately about food stories... so articulate and enrapturing

This is so funny. I live an hour from wheeling and this is very accurate. That is the first casino I have ever been to. I remember having to go back to the Denny’s. I need to keep up on the bookings. It’s a shame that I missed this.

Lol I have family in Wheeling. Can't wait to listen to this.

I Wonder What Ever Happened to "Blenner-Hasett Island" in WestVirginia? I Took an Elementary School FieldTrip to TheIsland in The80's...But Now It's DisAppeared! (I Wonder if TheIsland became "Casino Island"?)

I lived in a small town pop at least 5,000. The bar on the town square called "Snappers" stop service food at 6pm. Only place in town try to find some action on a Saturday Night unless I drive half hour to the nearest college town pay for a hotel room, and try to press my luck.

Its the least St C. Could do considering the Ohio Valley Mall is what killed downtown wheeling to begin with.

I'm originally from there,,,there are nice residential areas far away from downtown but the rest is shit,,,no wonder overdose rates are high.

Yeah, the triples at S&Sh aint all that big. I had to stay in a motel in Bumfuck Alabama, while doing a Plumbing Re-Model at a grocery store, for 3 weeks once.......There was a Steak n Shake, a Buffet place, and a Longhorns within walking distance......😨 An experience I dont wish to repeat.

Years ago I worked at a Whirlpool warehouse in Carlisle PA. The guy I worked with had to take a week off to go to a training course somewhere so my boss sent me out with his delivery drivers. We stopped in Wheeling one day to deliver washers or some such to a couple of houses...I still remember thinking how backwards everything looked...

Shout out to the Ohio Interstate system.

Had a girl from Hinton WV, used to love going up there and camp on the New River.

I'm from wheeling WV and I'll tell you after about 8:00 you aren't getting any food lol there's nothing opened. Don't eat at the casino I know some people that worked there and you just don't wanna do it.

Dude, it's a fuckin casino. And shit is closed at 8 or 9 PM. Yeah, that's fucked up. They want you to gamble 24 hours a day, but not offer food or drinks? I dunno what your experience is with casinos (I don't gamble, myself, but have been to several across a few states and even overseas in the military), but, yeah. If anything is closed EVER, it's a shithole.

FWIW I was talking more about him packing up and leaving in the middle of the night more than I was the quality of the casino (which I'm not really qualified to comment on as I'm also not a gambler and have very limited experience with casinos). In my experience, waiting in the lobby for delivery take out is fairly par for the course with hotels.

I stayed at a hotel in Greenwich, Connecticut and every time my girlfriend and I ordered delivery I had to go get it from the front desk.

I was there. So glad I got to meet Jerry Jarrett and Cornette, but the concept was not great. One big problem. Get a bunch of indie workers, most of whom don't know each other, and tell them to have a basic match. In every single match but the main event, guys went to a chinlock after two minutes. You guys do realize you can catch your breath in any hold, right?

Still hard to believe that wrestling comes down to wheeling. only house shows now but still

you missed the best buffet!

This is why most of us avoid Wheeling like the plague.

If the wrestling world were Looney Tune characters, then Robert Fuller would be Foghorn Leghorn and Jim Cornette would be Daffy Duck!
