What a beautiful thought, Sefa! But do you think 50 million would be enough? If my calculations are correct, that is less than 7/1000 of the world's population.

She owned this concerto....and to get applause after the 1st movement in a competition is almost unheard of....you really have to be something special to warrant that from such a sophisticated audience. Bravo.

I wonder how many great violinists North Korea has produced? Seems SK has several wonderful fiddlers. This is my favorite VC ever since I heard the 1936 Kreisler performance on record back in '62. The level of violin playing, overall, has really improved over the last century. At the beginning of 1900, only a few violinists were at this level. Most sounded wooden. Now there are many wonderful world-wide. But these young people owe those who came first. They stand on their shoulders. This young lady is making beautiful music. Thumbs up. Bravo!

***** "What is with all the gasping"? This question refers to all, not just the performer. Otherwise I'd have said; " What is with all of her gasping"? This is obvious. Let us all know if you can figure this one out. This is a tricky part of English.

Shame on you Marin. You weren't even paying attention to the soloist. The same thing happened with Milstein with another conductor and he stopped the orchestra and turned to John Nelson and told him "Look, YOU follow ME!". She's got her head up in the sky thinking that she is doing something great and crafting the orchestra but in reality, she screwed it up by getting off of the tempo because she was doing her thing instead of doing the soloists' thing. Shame on you Marin. Bad girl! I never liked working with you. You're too stiff and you are far too impressed with yourself. I honestly do not know how you got your career other than the fact that that all of the great conductors have died.
