Jewel School: Wave Crest Necklace

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

This project, developed for Jewelry TV's Jewel School, is a gorgeous Cellini pendant, strung on a six-strand necklace. Despite the impression of difficulty, it's actually a beginner-friendly project! Kits are available for sale at: www.jtv.com/s?q=jmkit517&=

    Phenomenal! I can't wait for the weekend so I can make one of these. You are awesome. Thank you for all the wonderful projects you share with us on KZread. I have avoided Cellini because making a whole necklace is too daunting for me. I think this is the perfect "starter Cellini."

    I started with JTV buying gemstones (have hundreds of gems!) Back over 10+ years ago. I think I watched the first episode of jewel school and was hooked. I have been making jewelry for abo it 11 years now and I just love learning new stiches and have so much fun with it! Jill is so good! She could teach an ape how to bead seriously she's that good. I've made spiral celini before but always wanted to turn direction and did this piece pretty quickly and I'm so so so in love!!! Thank you for all your awesome tutorials ( and for mine I used 4 colors of size 11, 1 color of 8 and the fire polish crystals for the biggest) very very fun I can't wait to make a red version!! Wish I could post a pic of the one I did

    Good video, I love celini spirals and have been so curious how to turn around for ages. I did a straight celini with a strand of crystals instead of the fire-polished beads and when that strand of 50 crystals was gone, that's where I stopped my regular celini. After that instead of stringing 6 strands of seed beads(which I hadn't thought of) I ended up buying some very thin leather tan strands(also used 6-great minds think alike) and used them together as my necklace. It came out very nicely as well. But thanks for the ideas and you look beautiful. I can tell you've really been working out and you look very beautiful. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. My mother was a large woman all her life and she told me the good thing about that was that larger women don't get wrinkles. She was 75 before she got her first wrinkle and I made the mistake this year of losing some weight(not all that I wanted to) and although it's helped my health, I have these horrible wrinkles in my neck now and every time I look at myself in the mirror, I think of what she told me and think, ah damn now I have big wrinkles just like she told me. She was so wise-lol!!!!!!!!

    Hi Jill, I just saw an interesting instructional video on reversing the Cellini Spiral. The women is an Italian women named Sara, her KZread site is Beadfriends. To begin Cellini we pick up the next bead based on what bead our thread is coming out of. When Sara was ready reverse the spiral instead of picking up the bead your thread is exiting, she picked up the next bead that she was going into, Similar to flat Cellini in some ways.

    Hi Jill, thanks for a great tutorial! I was wondering about the smallest beads in the center of swirl (the first beads you put on). In the classic Cellini you use 4 of them but here only 2. Is that because this piece doesn’t need to the flexibility of the bangle? Thank you!

    I have made several of these already and they are beautiful. I just have to string my necklaces. But I did find an easier way to do the reverse. You can find it at a site called MyAmari and look for the pdf for the Alternating Cellini Spiral Bracelet. It is just one step and you are going in the reverse direction. Thanks Jill for posting.

    Hi pacergirl, how many firepolished beads would I need? They seem to be the backbone of the pattern...

  • @PACERGIRL68

    @PACERGIRL68

    8 жыл бұрын

    Sorry, I just saw your post. No, the fire polish are not what I would call the "backbone" since this is basically tube peyote and your largest bead is going tol look more pronounced in your design. I have made this design using 11/0, 8/0, and 6/0. I do between 21 to 25 rounds before I do my reverse, so depending on how many reversals you do will determine how many of the larger beads you will be using. So say you just want to make a slider, then you can count on using approximately 50 of the firepolish if that is what you want to use. I have used various types of beads when making these.Jacq van M

    I love this design. The kits aren't currently available/sold out. I signed up to be notified when the kits are available again but it's been weeks so I'm thinking this may not become available again. It would be fantastic if after Jewelry TV has expired it's offer for the kit that Jill could sell the pattern on her own with a supply list and instructions. Jewelry TV has grown fickle and erratic in their stocking of merchandise...I don't think Jewelry TV is that interested in restocking at this point. I'd rather purchase from Jill Wiseman's store.

    Is there a way to do a cellini in the opposite direction to start with instead of changing mid way. I made a pretty piece that would be a great earring (half moon style) but the mate should "go the other way". Does that make any sense? :) I love, love, love your videos. Thanks so much!

    This is really beautiful! Too bad you're sold out of the kits at this point. I'd love to make a few of these necklaces in a variety of colors. Because you're sold out of the kits, it would be a big help if you would share the size of the 4 smallest colors. When I stop the video it appears they are all 11/0 (when comparing them to the 8/0), but the last 2 added look a smidgen smaller than the other 2 colors. Are they 10/0 & 11/0? They don't look different enough in size to seem like 11/0 & 15/0. Please advise.

    I made it 3/4 of the way with my Cellini. Took hours, starting with 15/0 and all the way up to a Czech glass drop (around 6/0 in size) and I ran out of the Czech glass drops. I scoured the internet and every craft store within reason and they are not available. It’s too small to be a bracelet and too long to be a pendant. I know this is an old video but I’m open to suggestions from anyone that happens to stumble on my comment.

    That’s what’s bad about JTV videos, they don’t tell you everything and don’t show you everything. They want you to buy the kit, then you can’t understand it if you’ve never beaded before! Really ticks me off to get stuck with something you don’t know how to do it. Start from the beginning and show up close!

    At one point Jill talks about how the 6's and 8's and how they sit in comparison to the fire polish beads. My take on the beads is 4 colors of 11's, 1 color of 6, 1 color of 8 and fire polish 3-4 mm. That's the 7 piles. Now I will try to count how many fp's before the turn!
