Jewel School: River of Pearls Necklace
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
This video is the companion for the kits sold on Jewelry TV's Jewel School program on October 27, 2014.
When I filmed this video instruction at the JTV studio back in October, there were technical problems with one of the cameras which made the video unusable. No problem! We re-shot the instructions at my Austin studio!
There are no longer kits available for this project - they sold out right away! But here are the materials I used:
Size 8 Delicas for the triangle ends
Size 11 seed beads for the strands
6mm Swarovski pearls in 5 colors
Slide clasp
Fireline - 6lb
Size 10 beading needle

Love it. The brick stitch triangles make creating a multi strand necklace so easy. I can't wait to try it.
Thank you Jill for showing us how to do the brick stitch,Love it and love watching you show us how to do it,Thanks a million.
That explanation of doing a brick stitch was very good - I finally GET it! And making every action visible and clear with a verbal description without a lot of unnecessary words made this whole thing a pleasant exercise for me. Thanks very much.
Once again Jill, your wonderful easy way of teaching has shown me how to create this beautiful necklace and learn the brick stitch, something I have had a lot of trouble with! Thanks a million... 😊
I like to re-purpose things. I bought a beautiful formal gown that the bodice was HEAVILY beaded with 6 different size pearls, seed beads and sequins at a Good Will Store for $12. I have removed and sorted the pearls and I use them to practice making jewelry. This video gave me much needed inspiration so I will be able to use some of those pearls. Thanks Jill from a fellow Texan. Love your videos
Love how you not just show how you made the necklace but also explain why you do some steps. Thank you!
I am a huge fan of all your videos, Jill, and I absolutely love your tutorials. Your explanations are so clear, the videos are great, and I love your sense of humor! I have tried most of your projects, must say that they all work out beautifully!
So elegant yet so simple. The kits were so fast to sell. Thank you Jill and company for this video.
Thank you Jill, you are an awesome teacher!
Beautiful project again !! Love your clear explanations about how to do it. Like your voice, it's so relaxing to listen to, even when I don't plan on recreating a project 😊. Thnx!
Love how detailed you do every tutorial.
You are a wonderful teacher and yours designs are fabulous!!!!
I could see shortening this and making a bracelet as you eluded to a couple times. Also using stone beads instead of Pearl The possibilities are endless...Another great design Jill
Superb! I love your idea for the triangle ends, it gives the bracelet an elegant professional look. And pearls, who doesn't love pearls? I love all your videos but this is one of my favorites. Thank you!

Thank you Miss, I didn't work on beads for a few years because I had surgery twice in one eye.
I have yet to make a comment on any youtube videos, no matter how much I liked or loved something...but right now is this first time, because this is my most favorite piece I've seen yet. I really, really love it. I am so proud of you, and your styles as it is...but this is my absolute favorite. It goes with everything I wear, all my moods, and would look great in so many different colors. So there....tee hee...Great job Jill!!!

Wow Jill is great how you explain its! Thank you so much. 🎉🍾🍸Happy New Year 2016 big hugs to you, and cheer to you🍸🍾
beautiful necklace. I want to make one just have to collect enough pearls to do so. Jill can you please do a video on how to read a payote graph.Thanks! Love your work.
This is a beautiful tutorial Jill. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Jill xx
Me encanta, muy elegante
Hi Jill, I love a design that can go in many different ways. I am going to change the pearls and use other varieties of round beads and may be combine them with mixing fire polish beads. I am also wondering if I could use glass chips and I will try and see if they work. You could even mix match the size of seed beads so as to give it a rough texture between the main beads you use. The amount of different designs that comes from the basic design but have totally a different look is endless. Thank you for your beautiful design and for stirring my imagination. Looking forward to you next design. Chris from OZ.

Waw it's very nice

OOOH I'd love to do this with gemstone beads like Labradorite
You are awesome, Jilly! You are so easy to learn from. I appreciate what you do! Are you coming to Tucson in Jan '18? I live here!
Me encanta todo lo que hace ,pero me gustaría mucho que tuvieran subtítulos en español los vídeos .
Hi Jill love the jewelry you do. Right now I'm working on river of pearls but having trouble understanding how you start your strands where do you hook the first strand
Jill, How about using a wire guardian instead of the 6 seed beads where the clasp is being added. So that the breakage of the thread doesn't seem to happen. I really loved this bracelet. Keep up the good work. JoAnn in ABQ,NM

Maureen O You could do more strands - either by making a larger triangle, or else having more than one strand come out of the end holes in a same-size triangle.

JIll I am a jewel schooler. I purchased your satellite bracelet kit in the purple color way. I have a question for this project. Will 1 tube of miyuki seed beads be enough to finish the necklace? THANKS , Melissa Doucette
Jill, could you please show me/us how to do right angle weave? I seem to be able to learn from you...but alot of other folks just confuse me!(I am a little dyslexic) thank you :-)!

As a very, very beginner, I'm wondering how much thread to start with since there are so many strands. In general, do you ever tie on another length or should you try start with the entire length you will need for completion? Thanks for any input, I'm really looking forward to starting this project!!
@JillWisemanDesigns

You''ll definitely have to add thread along the way - there's a spot in the video where I talk about the best way to do that. So start with whatever length is most comfortable with you and just add as you go.
Has anyone with longer hair made this? I'm wondering if it snags hair lying over it. tx.

I don't see a kit or instructions in the store. Can you give the sizes of the beads used?
Jill, about how many pearls did you use for this necklace
@JillWisemanDesigns
9 жыл бұрын
There are 8 strands, and depending on the length you require, you'll want about 10-14 pearls per strand.
Hi Jill how long do you make each strand
@JillWisemanDesigns

+teresa watkins - however long you need it to be for the size necklace you're making.

Jill, I have a problem with all your wonderful seed bead projects because where I live the "seed" beads are not uniform in shape and the result is just so ugly. Would it matter with this particular necklace if the beads weren't "uniform". I ask because I've started so many of your wonderful stuff only to give up as the result is awful.
This would look better using macrame instead of the seed beads, it does not look polished and takes away from the pearl's beauty.
