I was into this band when I was 14 and heard ` Aqualung ' for the first time I soon bought' Benefi' and ' Stand up' . Why the genius that is Ian Anderson has not been in the hall of fame is beyond me.🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇺🇲🎸😊☮️👍😁

When I saw Aqualung they opened with My God and Ian by himself on stage with his acoustic and a spot on him. As the song progressed the other band members came out as their parts came in. They finished the show with Wind up and the band each left the stage until only Ian remained and finished with his acoustic as the lights faded out. One of the best concerts ever.

I remember seeing Dr. John and his band comes out and starts jamming and while they are still jamming he comes walking out on stage, sits at his piano and joined in with them. At the end of the show he gets up, takes a bow and walks off stage with the band still playing. Cool as fuck!

Tull is a most underrated band that certainly deserves the recognition of the critics who slammed their music as prog rock! IAN ANDERSON was a musician and genius of lyrics and i am so thankful that i was introduced to their music as a child so i can still listen to it as a adult!!!

I'm an equal opportunity guy in this matter, I love all the arrangements of Jethro Tull songs! My 6 yr old daughter is crazy about Ian Anderson, she plays the flute also & at the risk of bragging she's incredible, I seriously think Ian would give her a big thumbs up, she's truly a prodigy that will make her musical mark in history someday! We're oresently looking into getting her accepted at Juilliard.... Along with being a very proud dad, I'm incredibly thankful that she listens to & loves Jethro Tull and classic rock music. I'd be rsther horrified if she was one of those modern minded children that are interested in Rap & Hip Hop! 😁

In my opinion this was better then the one featured on the album. I dont know if i am the only one who feels this way but it sounds to me on the album like Clive's drumming was toned down quite a bit. Especially after hearing this version and the one from Tanglewood and Isle of Wight.

Got turned onto J T by stoner older bro w/ their 3rd album, Benefit. Chked out their 1st 2, This Was followed by Stand Up. This wasn't the Beatles' bubble gum music. This was heavy shit rite here. 1st Tull concert was the Aqualung tour. Amazing. It sounded like studio recording, clean and oh so tight. Made sure to catch Tull every time they came to L.A.after that. Thick as a Brick, Passion Play, Minstrel in the Gallery, Too Young 2 Die,Too Old to Rock N Roll...band members changed during this time but still kick ass! Ian & the boys sure knew how to put on a show...w/o explosions, light shows special effects. Just play...

Better than the album version, this version is much more "prog" than the album cut...guessing they shortened it due to not enough space on the record? Anyway this great album would have been even better if this version of My God plus the full version of Wond'ring Aloud were on it.

"There are Artists who will wrest us up, and place us into themselves, rather than vice versa... are these not then, they of which, continue to wrest us up, even beyond their rests in peace?" -gilpin 13017 Often had the original song & lyrics on my mind from the time the parachute was donned, till that time of hitting the ground @ 22' per sec.. Sweet were those times of peeking through to the other side of life, and of it peeking back @ me. -Former Recondo Sgt. "Rock" 82nd Abn. 1/504 Inf. Bn. 71-74 13017

it's the war between rome and venetian templar bankers of london. 2 versions of this, this version says Catholic, the other, Church of England. and above comment correct about pantheism, but if you look deep enough, the Papacy presents itself as gnostic to the adept, it is deceiving!
