This is the best live version of Aqualung that I've seen. The highs and lows in the song are equally rivetting to listen to. Ian and the band always rose to the big occasions. Just fabulous.
I saw them live in Melbourne only about a year after the album came out. Anderson was dressed as Aqualung. A riveting performance throughout, with Ian Anderson a commanding presence. The concert ended with total darkness and a solitary telephone rang, quietening the crowd. A spotlight came on Anderson, and he picked up the receiver and held it out to the adoring audience and whispered: 'It's for you'😆
MARTIN BARRE.......... GENIUS !!!!!!!!!
I will will never forget the first time I saw this on MTV in 1982. That drummer scared me!!! RIP Mark Craney

The drummer was actually Mark Craney from South Dakota who was only in the band from 1980-82. He also played with the Fowler Bros Band, Gino Vanelli, and Jean Luc Ponty. After Tull he suffered kidney failure and diabetes and it cut his promising career short. Eddy Jobson is the violin/keyboard/fiddle player for this gig.

One of my all-time favorite bands EVER. I have seen them several times over the years and they never disappoint. I am in awe of their collective talents, and Ian Anderson totally blows me away. Nobody has mentioned the uniquely gifted Eddie Jobson, who toured with them several times (including on this tour) and played several instruments within a single song: electric violin, keyboards, and mandolin.

Love Jethro Tull music in the 70s. Also if ya dig this song on youtube you may enjoy Where Roses Grow Live by Rez Band. I remember hearing the song by Led Zepp " In My Time of Dyin " during my drug years and made me think about death and Jesus. Then a hippy friend that dug Jesus told me more of Jesus love and forgiveness and how I could also know Jesus love. So in 1981 I cried out to Jesus and wow man He came into my life and I had and have so much joy and peace and now know that through Jesus when I die I will be with Him in Heaven. Hey Jesus loves each of you also and yall can know Him if you are at all open. Just cry out to Him and also read the Gospel of John in the Bible or check out the movie on KZread. 😀
What a masterpiece this is. Saw them at the LA Forum in the 70s. Ian Anderson is so underrated as a frontman. Unique. A style that was original. The music was like a Medieval rock. They put on a show I’ll tell you.
