Ian's voice is a million times better than any rock star ever! His showmanship and sex appeal was so powerful, I could never understand why Jethro Tull wasn't much bigger. They will always be superstars to me!! I loved the romance and naughtiness of a medieval past they were able to conjure in rock-n-roll. The band was awesome, great musicians that were so much better than hundreds and hundreds of bands that are supposed to be so good. I still 💘 them!!

Pardon my French but nothing Ian Anderson does is "half-a**ed" He puts his 100% feelings, passion and his all into those songs that mean something to him. That's why I admire him and because there's songs they do that pay homage and tribute important matters [e.g. The great and powerful work done by those beautiful creatures those massive equine he honored in 'Heavy Horses all those many years before technology came along. That says a great deal about a person to recognize that. Or, his ode to a tiny rodent most don't think how they might feel but Ian was thoughtful enough to think about 'One Brown Mouse.' Even in 'Weathercock' he makes this object become alive thinking how it could.feel and thanking it for its work. Jethro Tull Lyrics "Heavy Horses" Iron-clad feather-feet pounding the dust An October's day, towards evening Sweat embossed veins standing proud to the plough Salt on a deep chest seasoning Last of the line at an honest day's toil Turning the deep sod under Flint at the fetlock, chasing the bone Flies at the nostrils plunder. The Suffolk, the Clydesdale, the Percheron vie with the Shire on his feathers floating Hauling soft timber into the dusk to bed on a warm straw coating. Heavy Horses, move the land under me Behind the plough gliding --- slipping and sliding free Now you're down to the few And there's no work to do The tractor's on its way. Let me find you a filly for your proud stallion seed to keep the old line going. And we'll stand you abreast at the back of the wood behind the young trees growing To hide you from eyes that mock at your girth, and your eighteen hands at the shoulder And one day when the oil barons have all dripped dry and the nights are seen to draw colder They'll beg for your strength, your gentle power your noble grace and your bearing And you'll strain once again to the sound of the gulls in the wake of the deep plough, sharing. Standing like tanks on the brow of the hill Up into the cold wind facing In stiff battle harness, chained to the world Against the low sun racing Bring me a wheel of oaken wood A rein of polished leather A Heavy Horse and a tumbling sky Brewing heavy weather. Bring a song for the evening Clean brass to flash the dawn across these acres glistening like dew on a carpet lawn In these dark towns folk lie sleeping as the heavy horses thunder by to wake the dying city with the living horseman's cry At once the old hands quicken --- bring pick and wisp and curry comb --- thrill to the sound of all the heavy horses coming home.

What an extraordinarily talented group of gents! Songs From The Wood & Heavy Horses are such classic studio albums. I never really think of them being played live because of all that's involved in each & every song! Take "Velvet Green" as an example. How on earth could you reproduce that in a reasonable way for the stage?? I still prefer the studio versions, but this live performance just shows what a brilliant group of musicians they were.

..For a one off..brief as heck Tull group..what a rewarding piece of music..I can understand BB was more musically involved in the ever weaving imagery with this band..Jethro Tull was his life and his canvass..his drumming is legendary...A righty who learned drums as a lefty..Mark Craney was a humble fusion jazz guy with great feel along with American rock power..it's not about better..Ian needed a drummer..and sure he's different..anyone's gonna be...I think it was an ace choice..Mark had nothing but soul with his drumming and was a damn mountain of a player...The 'A' album and the Slipstream show this...just brilliant..

@@artrock5741 He played with Roxy Music, U.K., Jethro Tull, Legacy, legendary Curved Air (when he was still underage) and he played with the absolute genious Frank Zappa plus the solo career.... Not only a violinist but also plays keys and guitar. He won the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2017 Progressive Music Awards. In March 2019 Jobson was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Roxy Music.
Not only the best ever song, but the best ever performance of that song, the whole band were excellent
J`ai 72 ans et et je m`aperçois que je suis anvoutée par votre musique. Dès que j`écoute cette chanson en particulier, je suis trasportée dans un autre monde . J`adore cette chanson et j`adore les jethro tull. Je pleure de bonheur.
My first Jazz professor hated rock, except for Tull and a few others. Besides the songwriting and clever arranging, good ol' Martin Barre's impeccable timing

Was he into prog rock like Tull and early Genesis? I’ve found a lot of jazz snobs always made an exception for bands that had tricky arrangements in their playing like mahavishnu orchestra, tull and Genesis.
My favourite live Tull track. Incredible Finale. Never known anything quite like it. goose pimples on the back everytime.
What a great live performance!
Ladies and gentlemen, the amazing Martin Barre!
Horses are my first loves and my favorite animals. I love how Tull celebrates them and so many other homely creatures on this record. Huge Tull fan. Huge.
I still love Ian Anderson. He's my favorite musician
thats perfection
Intro perfect! Masterpiece.
What a song! What a performance!
Best live band ive ever seen! Seen them at the n.e.c. in brum in 87. Crest of a knave tour. They played for 3 hours solid. Thats value for money!! Tull 4ever!!
Steffan Pila This Live Version of "Heavy Horses" by Jethro Tull reminds me of Kansas with the violin courtesy of Mr Eddie Jobson!!!! Long Live Jethro Tull!!!!
Mark Craney, one of the best to ever sit behind a kit!!!
Been a fan since the beginning. Masterful story teller and ALL of Tull's musicians have been masters. 76' and 77' were my favorite concerts. NO ONE like them.

Nothing like a Tull concert.
musical genius on all levels
MAGIC, MYSTIC, JETHRO TULL!
I saw this tour with Eddie Jobson playing. Despite the strange outfits, and the shocking lineup change, the concert was really, really good. The songs from "A" were terrific live!

I was at this very concert. And yes, the music from the A album played live was incredible. And then with that big pink A flashing and moving around, it was a stunning concert.

The best progressive piece by Ian Anderson!

Je pleure lorsque j`écoute cette musique.

Absolutely phenomenal 👏👏👏
Yesterday, I watched a Jethro Tull concert in São Paulo. Ian Anderson and the band performed 'Heavy Horses.' It's incredible how much energy this song still has, 46 years after its release. The entire setlist was engaging, but this song was special!!!
I wish i was there watching them live in 80 when i was 9!
Wonderful, wonderful performance - brings back such fond memories of a precious time. Thank you for sharing this video. After all these years this song remains unbeatable and Ian Anderson shall be, for me, a great master of music.
OMG!!!! This.

Great post Remy!
Magnifificent! top nocht ! best Jethro Tull's live performace ever! only happened one time in humankind history! rock will never die!!

First albums are better... '60 period is my favourite...
May 2020, still loving this group of great musicians
Greatness
Adding a fiddle to Tull immediately reminds me of Fairport Convention with fiddler Dave Swarbrick. Great bands of great times.
Like this song and full album very much!Listen it during many years.
Jethro tull rocks
Incredible song, amazing band and awesome Ian.
Wetton once said in an interview that Eddie Jobson was ridiculously talented...many people don’t know this but Eddie was a child prodigy ...like Mozart and his Sister...Jordan Rudess as well..to name a few . The cream always rises to the top 👏👏

Martin Barre talks about what an absolutely incredible musician Jobson was (is?) in a KZread interview with Eric Blair. Check it out.
i love Jethro, from Brazil.
Ian Anderson always amazing
fantastic... one of my favorite and a amazing performance.. thanks for the video!! will save this my favorites!
what a song by a great band
Wow!!! Went to see them decades ago
Ian Anderson forever in My heart😂❤❤❤😅😅😅
..For a one off..brief as heck Tull group..what a rewarding piece of music..I can understand BB was more musically involved in the ever weaving imagery with this band..Jethro Tull was his life and his canvass..his drumming is legendary...A righty who learned drums as a lefty..Mark Craney was a humble fusion jazz guy with great feel along with American rock power..it's not about better..Ian needed a drummer..and sure he's different..anyone's gonna be...I think it was an ace choice..Mark had nothing but soul with his drumming and was a damn mountain of a player...The 'A' album and the Slipstream show this...just brilliant..
Damn this is amazing. Such a genius he is.
holy shit Martin Barre sets the end of that song on FIRE!!!
Incredible band!!!
Amazing :)
Brilliant song featuring on of Earths greatest keyboard wizards Eddie Jobson and sadly deceased drummer Mark Craney who also played oh Eddie's solo album Zinc The Green Album!
I too have followed them since 69 what a great ride no words for Ian Alien maybe
Love Eddie Jobson on this one he is a great musician
The genius of this. My heart is broken...
This was a great tour! We saw them the same year in the US, in L.A.!
One of the best songs ever, Jethro Tull one of the greatest bands on record and live!!
❤ amazing!
Excellent live version. If you don't own a turntable and a half decent stereo system this is pretty good.
So dialed !!love the energy of the performance. Miss these times.
this was a new kind of sound in the world of rock music band in the mid to late 70's. Theatrical rock? folk rock? program rock: anyways; they were pretty much the only band around that sounded like this.
Excellent chemistry, would love this line up to have made albums ('A' was supposedly a solo LP). Jobson added so much live.
Fantastic, great lineup!
Cettte musique me transporte dans un un autre monde. Je me rappelle des année 80 . Je me sens anvoutée . Je perds mes moyens lorsque j`entends cette musique et bien d`autres des jethro tull.
Rock ON
Now THATS how you end a song. Killer version.
The violin is just beautiful in this song.
harmonics on violin! ^^ this video is great!
I love to lay down and listening to this kind of music, hence this is why I like listening to Jethro Tull.
I Love this, I got to see this tour as they came to L.A. in the day!
Shakespeare embodied in the best rock band of all time.
Love this. Wish Eddie would do another album with Ian

I had no idea Jobson ever played with Tull??? Great keyboardist. Deserves to be mentioned with other great prog keyboard players more often. Deserves more rep for sure.
