Jet Powered Go-Kart (Top Speed Run)
Ойын-сауық
I Built another Jet Go-kart just to see what the Top Speed of the single Engine Jet-powered Go-kart is.
In the previous jet go-kart video I did everything except for a top-speed run, so here it is, I thought it was kind of weak because I was expecting a lot more but the wind resistance is much stronger than You think it would be.
I am editing this video after a Brain injury I sustained recently, so I'm not seeing things exactly the same way I used to right now, I hope this video is edited well lol.
let me know what you think and wish me luck on posting more videos! these are pretty difficult sometimes.

I was wondering about the top speed when i watched that original vid. Tbh i thought it would be a bit faster, i was able to get to 41mph on my own jet kart with a smaller engine and it was still accelerating, but i got sketched out.
@WarpedPerception
8 ай бұрын
Yeah I think I remember that, I also thought it would have been much faster like over 80 mph. But it was definitely on the balance point and the wind resistance was definitely doing its thing. I think with some more aerodynamics it would have probably done 70 or 75, but honestly if I want to go faster I'll just put more engines hahaha.

I saw a guy who was trying to break the world speed record with a RC car having to do a bunch of things similar to what would hold back the speed from air drag That dudes problem was tires, it’s prob a combination of road type and tires 40 mph with a jet engine is pretty sketchy, idk how the dude did 60 mph in one, I bet a pothole or bump is a nightmare

Absolutely amazing! The fabrication, the upholstery, everything diy. I want to be like you when I grow up lol.
Man, you do great work. A lot of very different skills. I was impressed just by the wrapping of the steering wheel lol. Some would make a video just of that, for you, its just a 5 second time lapse shot (which is cool too). I can appreciate the time it takes to make custom stuff like that. Let alone the one off cnc parts, anodizing, building/programming electronics, etc.. Happy i found this channel. You could probably make a separate channel just for 'behind the scenes' from leftover footage that gets cut/glossed over during a project like this.
That was crazy cool !! If you added aerodynamics of any sort, I'm sure you could increase the top end, but not by much. Not sure I would want to go much faster, without some crash protection, pads, etc., as any failure at these speeds would probably equal a hospital trip. Just a very cool project, all in all, and well done !!

That drag behind the go-cart is also robbing the engine of ram recovery pressure. You need ducts that take the free stream air and direct it to the intake.

Dude you are seriously talented and skilled. Blows my mind how much you know how to do
- improve the aerodynamics with some covers over the frame and the bottom - side skirts for groundeffect - add 2 vertical parallel fins behind (each) jet engine that are controlled via cables and the steering for giving you vector-thrust in tighter turns; if you have oversteer and you need to counter-steer the vector-thrust can help you to get the rear of the go-cart back on track 😉 *Nice project!!!* 😃👍

Amazing ! Great work.
Awesome mate!! Very quick. To decrease drag, enclose the front.
That was very impressive ! I was not expecting that level of speed and performance from only one of those engines. That jet engine packs a punch with out a doubt ! At those speeds with that amount of fuel sloshing around not to mention a smoking hot jet engine, you might want to get a nomex suit or the likes. Just my 2 cents.
Pretty crazy setup specially with all that fuel and stuff in front of you. Just glad you didn't hurt yourself doing this. The sort of thing you should be doing at a racetrack with flame proof suits not on a back street somewhere. Anyway, good to see you survived it OK.
Truly spectacular!!!

Amazing engineering effort indeed! However, for comparison - a standard 125cc racing kart (such as Vortex Rok) gets up to 60 in 5 seconds and tops out - depending on gear ratio at around 80 mph. And oh boy, it can turn! So if someone proposes competition - stay away :) Also, your tires might actually be wet weather tires, as for a dry track karts use slicks only. Bridgestone slicks will certainly provide a lot of grip - and they don't wear too fast. I used to race karts professionally and I love this jet kart - awesome job man!
