Outside of the temperature of the water I could float with this indefinitely without any fear. They did an absolutely great job with protecting your ribs and back and the way they constructed the foam pockets, it gives you buoyancy everywhere on your body that is covered by the vest. I would consider myself an intermediate swimmer, but with this life vest on I definitely feel more secure! You will not regret this purchase I plan to buy one for every member in my family.
