Did the jetski hull hold up pretty good? It seems like a a lot of work fabricating an intake.

Yes it held up awesome! Way easier than fabbing an intake, however it adds a lot of weight so there's a trade off to this for sure!

How did you find the measurement of the initial cut in the hull?
@jetboatmayhem7271

@@jaketester9555 I made a measurement of the hull of the jet ski where i wanted it to drop through and then drew it out and cut it. It'll be different for every application, but the key to good handling is putting the steering nozzle as far back in the boat as possible, so that'll help you figure out where to cut.
Preheat the thicker plate

@@jetboatmayhem7271 To sharpen that comment, it does help to sharpen the underside of the grate wrungs, just never the faces!
Its coming together nice. Im at the same point on mine. Are you thinking of bondo or fiberglassing seams? I'm not sure what i should do.

In my opinion I'd think bondo would Crack, buy I've seen guys use fiberglass with great results. I liked the idea of mechanical fasteners so bolts and Flex seal paste did the trick 👍 what size boat and motor you putting together?

@@jetboatmayhem7271 I have the fiberglass already. But I was reading up on USC all-metal and supposedly its alot stronger than regular bondo. I was thinking of the all-metal to fill the gaps and then fiberglassing to smooth it out. But I definitely don't want any ceacking issues. Thanks for the reply.

@@djbassin3042 absolutely! That combo should scream!!!! The flex seal was surprisingly strong, and no leaks. It's as much an adhesive as it is a sealant so that's an option as well, but sounds like you've got a good plan, can't wait to see pics!

@@jetboatmayhem7271 I still want to seal it initially and then bondo over that. Maybe a little overkill. But I figure it will only help. I'll try to get some pics for you.
Hey did you have to buy an alignment tool to realign your engine and pump? I’m getting ready to pull my engine so I can finish cutting the hull
@jetboatmayhem7271

Hey Jake! That's exciting 😄 no one didn't have to use one because the hull does that for you. The pump and engine mounts are lined up already for you. If you were not using the entire hull and installing an aluminum intake instead then you'd need one.
Damn uhm
Any update on how that flex seal held up? I’m planning on doing the same so just curious
