Life is super hard and dark right now. There's nothing more I want in life than for Jesus to come back to rescue us. Then I repent to God because I know I'm being selfish because there's so many people who don't know the gospel. My heart aches because I know how patient God was with me. Please pray for me that my faith doesn't wither.

Now is actually the most peaceful and prosperous time in human history so he wouldn't be coming back now if you belive he will return when things are difficult.

@Deb Harris You brought something to my mind. Deb, if you ever want the experience of a lifetime, I'd say be a Sunday School teacher for children from 5 to 7 years old. The youngest I think gives the best memories for a teacher. lol I love how some little ones tell their parents all about Psalm 91 taken from a King James Bible... "Mom, dad, did you know God has secret places? And He has wings like a big bird and He covers us with them instead of a blanket! He's gonna snatch us up from the fowl and the noisy pest too! What's a pest? Do you know any of them? I'm not going to be afraid of the dark either. Thousands are going to fall all around me but I don't know why they fall but the bad guys get some kind of reward. Do they get rewards for being bad? 'cause God says no evil will fall on me and no planes either. I guess that's why angles will change all my ways. Then the angels will get me by my hands so I wont hurt my feet on any stones. I don't know who will tread on a lion but someone does and snakes too! Did you know there really are dragon's? cause they are going to tickle me under my feet. All because God Jesus loves me and going to deliver me somewhere all because I know His name! If He calls me I gotta answer or I'll be in trouble. And He's going be satisfied with a long life and gonna show me something to sell." Out of the mouth of a babe!!! Believe me, it's not something you could ever forget. And that is what I think of when anyone mentions Psalm 91. Hope you enjoyed my little story. To me, it's a winner, or as that little one would probably have said, "it's a winter." He is real and this is exactly what the Scriptures foretold, that they will began to say where is the promise of His Coming? For everything continues as it has always been from the beginning. God is Longsuffering towards us, not wanting any to perish but given you time to Repent, for the Kingdom of God is at hand, nearer than it's ever been. Please consider the consequences, for those that reject the Grace God offers through His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. It is a Gift :)......the Price paid in Full for past, present, and future Sins. Jesus hung His head and died in mine and your place upon the Cross of Calvary, It is Finished. It's not about Religion but a Relationship..... God & Man reconnected through Christ.

Jesus waits a little longer for us to come to our senses.. TO Repent in HEART or Perish. This is a message to unbelievers; Choose, choose well the winning team ‘(A’ team for ALMIGHTY’S team) or the ‘D’ team aka Devil’s team , I I affectionately call the ‘deading’ team? And by the way NO choice is STILL a choice. @@jouc12_75 no, it’s just the last who are to be saved will be saved. It can be many generations from now, or tomorrow. For example if Jesus came back 30 years ago I would not exist or be saved.

He is coming soon. Each believer should receive his words personally in the last days. It is part of the gospel , having an attitude of preparation for the Lord's return on the part of each believer.

The only thing holding me to this world is my wife and grown kids. I was not a Christian while they were growing and am the only Christian in the family. I know God has a plan yet the thought of them being left here breaks my heart.

Dear Sister or Brother, Yes you are absolutelty right. The Bible is very clear about our human state, being and purpose. What that means and who we are. Children of God. We are told where we came from, what we stand for and where we can go. We have also been given the Word or a guide/guidelines to follow so that we may reach union with Him (God the Father, the Creator) through acceptance of this Word. Jesus said 'I am the truth, the truth and the life John 14:6. Jesus also said 'there is no way to the Father but through ,me. John 14:6. The bible has taught us the history of mankind, being and who we represent in man - or human being, by the image of the Son of God. God says that he so loved the World that he gave his only son that we shall not perish but inherit eternal life. John 3:16. The bible teaches us who God is and who we are in him. How we can reach eternal life with him before the great tribulations and demise of this earth. Revelations give us very clear signs (unseen and seen). And as we wait, we have been gifted with the spirit of God - or the Holy Spirit within us and his Word to follow. Signs of the last days of Gods mercy on mankind through salvation in Jesus Christ have been delivered. We have been warned of the rapture and what follows. It is a choice. Its not about religion. Its a relationship. Love from London

I have nothing at all against anyone getting greater teaching by studying but once we have surrendered our lives to Christ our Savior, it pays to obey John 3:3-12 and become born again. When we're born again and read our Bible (KJ), we only need to pray for the Holy Spirit to guide us, give us wisdom and understanding. He is about the best helper of all. We must never put the word of man above His Holy Word. Man is just flesh and blood and being fallible, are not always right. The only one that has lived on this earth that was infallible was the Lord Jesus. : ) Forgive me if I sound like I'm preaching to you but being in my 80's I know that's probably how I sound. Sigh. God bless...

I will say that this will be like the days of Moses. You see when Moses was climbing up the mountain the people were impatient for Moses to come back and they were asking when is he returning so they were impatient and worshipped an other God. There's a parallel of how it's going to be in this generation. Many people will being impatient and ask when is Jesus Christ coming back. But remember God is never slow

@@starscream8Life in the context of the sermon on the mount (Matthew 5), where Jesus says every dot and tittle will be fulfilled, he is referring only to the Old Testament because at that time the New had not been written. So Matthew 24 does not apply. Plus, there are Christians in North Korea, just not a lot.

After these things have happened that is written & foretold about , He don't lie or mislead , 💖👣👑😊

My comment regarding this is that we should be like the 5 Virgins who had kept a spare oil for their lamps. For we do not know when the Bridegroom arrives. This should serve as a reminder to be patient and be ready for His coming. 🙏

When Jesus was saying that it would happen within a generation he was talking about the destruction of the temple in Jerusalem. He was not talking about the second coming. In 70 AD the temple was destroyed and that was a little less than 40 years from the time of Jesus. So He was correct.

@@aerodave1 the thing about it is we want the day or the hour to be in our century. It was talking to them in the first place about the day or hour. That is why we are not in that day or hour event. We always want read it in our day or hour. The event were talking about Israel in the old covenant. That is why he told them to watch. He was talking about the city being destroyed back , he told them that what day or hour it would happen. Why would the climax happen to us? Jesus said the kingdom of God didn't come with seeing it physically , observation or saying here it is there it is. It is within us. It is the new birth of the spirit as he explained to Nicodemus. Jesus explained that which is born of flesh is flesh and which born is spirit. We are born of the spirit. 😉. Being again of the flesh only produces flesh.

I think partial preterism is the best explanation to this question :)

WHO was the book of Revelation (REALLY) written for? Does the Scriptures actually tell us? Revelation 1:4 “YAHchanan (John) to the seven congregation that are in Asia:…”Rev. 1:11.. Write in a book what you see, and send it to the seven congregation: to Ephesus and to Smyrna and to Pergamum and to Thyatira and to Sardus and to Philadephia and to Laodicia.” Not only do we know these cities from ancient secular history, but we are even aware that the order in which they appear in Revelation follows as a known Roman postal route. These seven congregations were real local congregations undergoing GREAT TRIBULATION in the FIRST CENTURY the great tribulation and unimaginable suffering… Rev. 1:9 “I, YAHchanan (John,) your brother and fellow partaker IN THE TRIBULATION..…” In this book of Revelation we discern a martyr theme quite in keeping with what we know about their “tribulation” and their need of “perseverance” (Rev. 2:9-10, 3:9-10, 6:9-11, 11:7-8, 11-13, 18, 12:10, 13:10, 14:11-13, 12:101013:101018:20, 24, 19:2, 20:4, 6) 18:20 these people are going grievously and very hard times. For instance, later in chapter 6 we learn of Father YAHweh’s special blessings upon those who have actually been slain for their faith (Rev. 6:9-11). The apostle YAHchanan ( John ) is MINISTERING to them - giving them HOPE about what must "SHORTLY TAKE PLACE" ( in their lifetime ), and he expects them to understand and act upon his directives, for he tells them that the “TIME IS NEAR”…( not 1900 plus years later ) Most of us have never even stopped for a minute to examine (for ourselves) the very THEME of this letter called “Revelation”. For instance, in the very first verse of the first chapter YAHchanan plainly states WHO his actual audience is (HIS bond servants), and then proceeds to tell THEM (HIS bond servants of whom he is a fellow-partaker in THE GREAT TRIBULATION with) that his letter is about things “WHICH MUST SHORTLY TAKE PLACE”. To make this point even clearer, in 1:3 we see YAHchanan unmistakably saying to the people in those seven congregations that the VERY REASON they are to “heed the things which are written in it” is because “THE TIME IS NEAR”. QUESTION: Why would YAHchanan boldly say that the very PURPOSE of his letter was about things that are very NEAR to his actual AUDIENCE, if they absolutely were NOT near? We have never been challenged by the religious crowd to even ASK that question. We have never been asked to imagine those poor, persecuted called out believers in those seven (actual) congregations sitting in candle light, reading that letter out loud. Once again, here’s just another one of the MANY examples where we have (literally) been trained to mentally REMOVE the ORIGINAL AUDIENCE (the original recipients) and then INSERT ourselves in their place. THAT’S CRAZY!!!!!! Can we not see ( unless Spirit Holy opens our eyes ( MattithYAH 11:25-30 ) how absolutely crazy and exegetic-ally irresponsible that actually is to just IGNORE this literary fact? We MUST learn to read the Scriptures with AUDIENCE RELEVANCE in mind if we want to know the TRUTH that will MAKE us FREE from this deceived world many religions. Rev. 12:9 We really can not see the father of lies and his many religions that are based on the TRADITIONS of evil men and what we have allowed these liars to pond off on us as what they call the truth. Shame on us for not listening to YAHshua's words " SEARCH the Scriptures for they testified about Him " Also remember the instruction of the apostle Saul that was call on the road to Damascus AFTER RESURRECTION he said "Study to show yourself APPROVED to Father YAHweh so you will not be ashamed. NO ONE can STUDY the Scriptures for you. YOU MUST do that for yourself! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In chapters 2 and 3 YAHchanan addresses short letters to each of the congregations of the called out ones. In those letters we discover numerous historical, geographical, political, cultural, and religious allusions fitting perfectly with what we actually know of these regions. These are real people of the first century, those called out ones in real first century congregations. 1. YAHchanan is writing to seven actual congregations in DIRE circumstances. 2. He intends for them to understand what is being written, revealed, and shown... 3. They are to HEAR and to HEED, which would require that they understand… 4. YAHchanan’s letter is about things “which must SHORTLY take place” (temporal nearness)… Again, the direct (physical) recipients of this letter called “Revelation” are REAL people who are suffering VERY REAL grievous “tribulation.” QUESTION: Is YAHchanan taunting them by using familiar terms speaking of temporal nearness? To These poor men and women who are under such trials?!?! Surely not! He is MINISTERING to them - giving them HOPE about what must "shortly take place" (in THEIR lifetime)... and he expects them to understand and act upon his directives, for he tells them that the “time is near”… To seal up, or not to seal up… The “time” in the book of Daniel was NOT near (Dan. 12:4), but the “time” in Rev 22:10 WAS, NEAR, If Revelation was NOT to be sealed because “THE TIME IS NEAR”, but Daniyl 22:10 the message was to be sealed because it was for “many days” and the “time of the end” (Daniel 10:14, 12:4,9), then “many” days are only 500 years, and if that is true, how can "at hand" or “the 10:14 is near” be for 1900 plus years away? Not only have we never asked ourselves that question, but we have never even THOUGHT about this literary inconsistency. Surely YAHchanan is not telling these poor persecuted believers in the Resurrected Hebrew Messiah that the “time is near and you must heed that which I’m writing, and that Father YAHweh is concerned with your persecution - BUT the things I am telling you that are near to you and shortly to come are (actually) NOT really near to you and (actually) NOT shortly to come but are (really and actually) not going to take place until 1900 plus-some years from now” ! "But hey, thanks for letting us USE your DESPERATE HOPE and your DIRE SITUATION as a STORY PROP for the REAL people (1900 plus years from now) that this letter is (actually) written TO and for." ?????????? For years we have been taught to say, "YAHshua and the apostles couldn't POSSIBLY have really MEANT what they clearly and plainly SAID (directly) to their first-century audience." We must understand, some of us for the first time, that YAHshua and the apostles stood and looked their first-century audience in the EYES and told THEM all the things they did. And in the case of Revelation it was a letter of course...( we need to remember what YAHshua said in MattithYAH 16:28 " Some standing here will not taste death until you see the Son of Man coming in His Kingdom. " ) Now was the Son of Father YAHweh misleading His followers? Remember by your words you are justified and by your words you are condemned. I say YAHshua KEEP His WORD! We have looked at the book of Revelation and said, "Surely this book wasn't written for who it actually SAYS it was written to. Surely these words are about the end of the WORLD in OUR future. They couldn't POSSIBLY be metaphorical and symbolic in nature having to do with some first-century regional event or the end of an "age" (the Mosaic age)!" And so, WE started building our OWN "twisted views", all based on the arrogance just displayed... Again, we must ask ourselves… Is this letter “to the seven congregations” an actual first-century-audience-specific letter TO those actual seven congregations, or was YAHweh and His Son simply USING all those poor people as HUMAN STORY-TELLING PROPS (or "object lessons) for a story that is not even ABOUT them - but actually written for some folks over 1900 plus years later? It IS either one or the other.It is ABSOLUTELY BRUTAL (B. R. U. T. A. L.) and completely THOUGHTLESS what today's end-times future-apocalypse "theologians" ( lying preachers ) are expecting us to believe about those poor people in those seven congregations who were sitting around reading that letter (which was ACTUALLY ADDRESSED to THEM)!

one thing iv learned by studing the Word is that the rapture is not imminent! you just have to study the old testament to know that God does things at appointed times, so 1 Thess 5v4;" but you are not in darknes brothers, for that day to surprise you like a thief". we may not know the day or time but we who are awake know the season!

Remember that all scripture is inspired by the holy spirit. It says that 1000 years with the Lord is as a day, and a day as 1000 years. So when it says soon, I've always thought of it as Jesus has only been gone a couple days, less than a week by our reconning of time.

That's right, it's only been two days according to the eternal creater, the one and only Son of the living God, he is also testing us through this, too see what we think of him,

I love Dr Piper and the amount of thoughtfulness, earnestness, and Godly scholarship he puts into his explanations. I'm just seeing this vid which is now 3 yrs old, but the subject is as interesting and troubling today as it has always been for me. I have no theological training, but just a simple belief and confidence in Gods Word, to the extent that He Sovereignly allows me to understand and believe. There are several points of Scripture that ties into this subject as well, that I want to interject. First, I believe that the events in their lifetimes referred to, was exactly as stated, - within their generation. Secondly, there were a number of people that Jesus raised from the dead who were among this generation. Lazarus and Jairus's daughter were 2 of them. And there were an unknown number of Saints (many) who rose from the dead and came out of their graves after Jesus' resurrection. Matt.27:50-53. These resurrected Saints were all a part of "this generation". Hebrews 9;27 says it's appointed unto men ONCE to die and after death the judgement. I believe these resurrected Saints who had died once already, COULD NOT DIE a second time again, according to Hebrews 9. If so, then it makes sense that Jesus would return to receive them to himself as part of His promised return during that generation. I believe, these resurrected Saints, along with Saints who had come to Christ during His ministry who were alive or had died, ALL were raptured to Heaven at Jesus' return in 70 A.D., which was still within that generation. Most Scholars believe the NT was completed by AD 65, including Revelations. A few believe Revelations was not written until about AD 90. I believe all the Revelation events were completed by AD 70 at the return of Jesus. It also makes sense because there is a historical silence about Christians and Christianity from AD 70 until about the 3rd century (300 years later). This would make sense if all the Christians (resurrected Saints who could not die again, plus those who had died and those who had not died - all within that generation), had been raptured. It could and probably did take hundreds of years for new generations to come to Christ through Election according to Eph 1:4 and Romans 9. I believe this was the real Rapture in AD 70. The future rapture teaching as we now know it, did not appear until about 1800. (I believe by Darby and Scofield). I believe it's a false teaching and expectation. Since the only real rapture at AD 70, now when a Saint dies, they get their glorified bodies immediately, and are 'raptured' into the presence of our Lord. 2Cor.5:8. I believe false doctrine has duped most into looking for an imminent 'rapture' via the future return of Jesus. Many also believe it because no one wants to die first, and would much rather be raptured without dying. So false books like 'left behind' feed into this desire not to die first, and even though many Saints say Heaven is their home, and sing, "when we all get to heaven", they really are not in a hurry to go there through death. Finally I believe the Scriptures are true as written. The events did occur in that generation as JESUS said it would, and His promise to return was kept, and all the Saints of that generation were raptured when Jesus returned in AD70. How many may fail to come to the Lord if Jesus comes now? Isn’t it a selfish desire and are we truly diligently seeking to bring people to Jesus? Couldn’t some believers be in danger of failure to bring souls to God?

The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.’ Not to mention He said "On the day you eat of the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil you will surely die!" Adam lived to be 930 years old 70 years shy of 1000 years which is the same day to God!🙏💯

Well, if Adam and Eve lived about 100,000 years ago as Dr. Fazale Rana says, then 2,000 years isn't very long by comparison. Also, I think the Greek word for "soon", also means "imminent", as in it could happen at any time.

There's nothing else he can say but defend that or admit that it's not going to happen

“Soon” is a relative term. Jesus is still alive. So is the devil and all the demons and angels that heard Jesus say “soon”. In the way they experience time this might be how they define “soon”. Whenever it is, it is an appointed time that was determined long ago and has not changed. Jesus will return when He is supposed to return.

The Lord tests, and trys our hearts to see what we think of him, he did say that a thousand years is like a day to him, it also says blessed is he who waites on the Lord. And when I return will I find faith on the earth,..he gave us the gift of waiting for Him, watching, expecting Him to show up at any moment, Witch helps shape us into the people He expects us to be, nothing else on earth is so important then expecting Him to show up and take us to the place he has prepared for us in His Father's House, How amazing is that to think about, no eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him, let's be patient and wait upon the Lord, like in every generation, for those who are expected to come. Thank you Lord.

Nugie - No the Lord Jesus did not say that. That is a misunderstanding of scripture. Jesus said that 'this generation shall not pass away until all these things shall come to pass'. He was NOT talking about the time scale of how long a generation is. The 'generation' is what they are in character. Jesus describes Israel as a 'crooked and perverse generation'. Also a generation of 'vipers' etc. The Jews and their religious rulers were wicked and corrupt back in our Lord's time on earth. They still are and still will be when the Son of Man, Jesus Christ, comes back to earth to reign in righteousness. He will judge Israel along with the nations. The elect Jewish remnant will be saved and represent Israel in the Kingdom.

@@anahata3478 This is what Jesus said Mat 16:28 Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom. So, "some" would not die before the Son of man would come in His kingdom. That means some would die. But if Jesus was speaking of an event that would happen a couple of days later, how would His statement here make any sense? Start with that.

Jesus was speaking specifically to them and about them, and everything He said about them was 100% true and came upon them. Read Matthew 23 where Jesus declared "your house is left unto you desolate" and that it would come upon their generation. It all happened just as Jesus said with the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple, at the end of the old covenant age. He doesn't lie, He doesn't mislead, He doesn't deliberately confuse people, and He isn't confused.

Jesus Christ prophesied that this generation will not pass away until all this things fulfilled. The fig tree generation,- the current generation of Israel. It attained 73 years this years..The coming 7 years will be the season our Lord returing.I believe this.

Terri, since there is God the Father, His begotten Son Jesus and the Holy Ghost (Spirit); shouldn't we assume that was what was meant by in "our" image? Then read in the New Testament 1 John 5:4-9 for more info on the three also being one. I hope that will be helpful. God bless...

Guys don't be like those Israelites when they escaped Egypt. It's like when Moses went up the mountain to get the Ten Commandments people were asking when was Moses come back and they were impatient so they were doing stuff until Moses came back. We better be ready when Jesus comes back and not play around.

Aparna Chegu Nobody deserves the blood of Jesus. It’s his endless love and mercy that made him lay down his life for all. Jesus loves even the dirtiest of sinners. We’ve all sinned. So we shouldn’t judge others for being lost in their sin because many of us were once completely lost in sin. Our goal should be to always strive to be like Christ. That includes not judging the speck in others’ eyes for we may have a log in our own.

The Bible speaks of this deception, a one world order(which is going to happen very soon), the mark of the beast which is going to be implemented they are already making the tech. Name a single prophecy that has been fulfilled and I bet it's vague (so over time you are bound to be able to find *something* that could give the appearance of being a fulfillment) and/or the event that fulfilled it can't be confirmed (so could be entirely made up). They thought the end was nigh 2,000 years ago and they have been saying it ever since. At what point would you stop believing if he didn't come back? I suspect you wouldn't.

Greed and lust have been around since people have and show no sign of going away. It's hardly insightful to say that humans will continue to be humans. I don't see much sign of anybody worshipping Satan. Where are you getting your information from? I hear a lot of people like you saying they worship Jesus. Why am I hearing that and virtually nobody saying they worship Satan if there are so many of them? Are Christians being beheaded in the USA? Where are you getting your information from?

The early Christians did believe that Christ would return in their lifetime as evidenced by a plain reading of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and 1 Peter, but as successive generations passed away pre-Second Coming, some passages had to be reinterpreted. Christians have always been willing to torture the text until the Bible says what they want it to say.

Don't trust the teaching of men and women who call themselves teachers and blatantly misrepresent and misinterpret the kingdom of God. Trust in God alone. He does not lie, His word is truth. Eschatology matters just as much as theology, get them wrong by listening to false teachers and confusion outweighs logic and common sense. Study, seek, find.

He already returned back then. He wouldn't have said "I'm coming quickly." He wouldn't have said "I'm coming before this generation passes away." If he wasn't coming back on their time. Period.

I feel the title is offensive , God does things in his timing. We should be more worried about what condition he finds us in.

Right where He went in Acts 1 and when ALL the members of the body of Christ have come into God’s heavenly Kingdom , we will be caught up to meet him in the clouds just as He told Paul , our Apostle in this Age of the Grace of God !

ANSWER: Because Jesus never said ''soon''. The correct translation is ''suddenly''... which fits in far better with His parable about the 5 wise & 5 Foolish Virgins... and the continuous warning that we do not know when the Master will return.

Pastor john misquoted. - all these things in THIS generation he was talking to the immediate audience and in THAT generation the fall of Jerusalem happened in 70 AD fulfilling that part of the prophecy. - Apologetic studios explains this in great detail.

We are reading some thing that happened back there there that happened. They said that these things were written that we might believe. The last days were the old covenant Israel. We are in the new covenant, no the old covenant. We are in age that was to come.

Those things can happen on another place aka another planet or universe it really doesn't mean it will be here

Thats a ridiculous thing to say. Its well attested by secular academic litterature that Jesus of Nazareth was a real historical figure that died by crucifixion

Absolutely and zero scripture given to backup this 2,000 year gap. Jesus doesn’t pause in Mat 24, it’s all together. Jesus returned in 70AD. Josephus and other Roman historians confirm it.

Sure don’t look at many verse together but listen to OTHERS who have more knowledge and have studied. Wow He has come. It’s ok because Gods children are seeing We are in Revelation 20.

My belief is that the scriptures point towards him at least fulfilling parts of the things mentioned in revelations like destroying the temple in 70AD, mostly because if there is anyone I despise almost as much as satan are those holier-than-thou fools who think that God whispered them in a dream that the world would end in a year or that helping the Jews in rebuilding the temple would somehow prompt him to come back like that isn't a direct affront to him and blasphemous to even consider happening. Yeah let me just force God to come down and force judgement by helping the ones who killed him rebuild their temple, such stupendous selfish sinful idiocy.
