AI-Upscaled version of this video which has been around for a pretty long time now. This is an excellent concert and features Ted and Carl in their usual top form. It also is an extremely notable performance in that it was the final time that Carl and Ted performed these roles together before Carl passed away in 2004.
This tape was in ROUGH shape, and as you can see the results still aren't quite perfect. Beyond the absolutely abysmal generation loss--resulting in the loss of much detail on faces unless the camera is zoomed in--the biggest issue was the constant flickering of the rainbow colors through out. It is MUCH more subdued here, and I've sharpened the image just a tad to try and bring certain details out a little bit more. I applied some very light film grain to help soften some of the harsher aspects of the video and smoothen it out a bit, and I also tried (for a while) to achieve some color correction but my software couldn't seem to find the right balance and it still isn't perfect.
The original source video was also letterboxed for some reason, so the image was cropped to have the full 16:9 aspect ratio reinstated. That said, you're technically zooming in on an already blurry video so this may have brought out more compression in the image.
It's nowhere near perfect and perhaps there's someone out there who can do some better work on it than I could, but for now it's at least somewhat more watchable.

Carl anderson and Ted neeley just those two best friends talented and voices that bring tears to even older people as they portrayed jesus and judas. What the two of them brought to us. God thank you
Carl and Ted were born for these roles. I am very lucky I got to see them live together and Carl in another version. The best of the best

Oh yes, they're both fantastic singers. But Jesus probably had dark skin and black hair and not blond hair and pale skin like this Pop-Jesus. But great show, super singers and exceptionel compositions. Love to all of you, from somewhere in the Universe.
TED & CARL. God gifted them for this purpose. Ted still doing it at age 80

I went to every performance in my area during Ted and Carl's 1993-1997 tour. They were brilliant and had a very talented cast and musicians. I had hoped so much that PBS or someone else would film it for their 20th anniversary show. I got to know Ted, Carl, some of the cast and band members and Ted's beautiful family. Everyone there was wonderful. Some of the best times of my life.
OMG thank you so much .. I guess this is the only time I will ever see Paul Ainsley as Herod .. I would love to have a time machine and see him live in the 70s ... also the London version with Paul Jabara would have been a sight to see :D .. again thank you so much.

Well, it was in 1998, so I don't think they are looking for any now. God, right at the begining when he struggled to finish the first part of the opening solo, it really made me feel kinda uneasy, cause I was imagining how the other artists must have felt. Shock, shame, and maybe a little bit of amusement.
