Among the most celebrated singers of her generation, Jessye Norman has played, to great acclaim, the roles of Aida, Cassandre, Alceste, and Leonore. She is also known for her commitment to philanthropy and to arts in education; She was Rolex Mentor in Music from 2004-2005 and is a member of the Board of Trustees of the NYPL.

I only have a basic education and am not particularly articulate, but dear Ms Norman speaks to my soul. Wether it be by her words or her music. I adored her. May she rest in eternal peace. 🌹
Such a superbly classic lady!
I did not come to know of Ms.Jessye Norman until 2 years after her death. Oh how I had missed out on enjoying such a beautiful voice when she was still with us but I'm enjoying it now though social media like KZread, thank you so much for this.
