@@greaseweeklygames sure but it’s expected that they’ll lose so if they lose, as long as they put up a fight, it’s really not that bad. I’m not Canadian but I can see that Canada are building and becoming a great team. Upsets happen all the time in football, Canada beating Argentina is not entirely out of the realm of possibility. Even if they do lose, they have a lot of potential and hopefully with their performance now, they can be welcomed back to another copa America.

Comparing the Canada I saw in World Cup 2022 against Morocco, with the Canada I saw in Copa America against Venezuela yesterday, there definitely is less weakness and more Smarts there. The Goalkeeper though lacks some top level experience is a good member of the team and he is able to learn and maybe become one of the best if not the best on the Americas. This team can stand tall against any team in the World athletically, and this is nothing new. Soccer know-how they have proved with Jesse they can evolve fast and maybe humble Argentina or Brazil. It won't be easy to beat the World Champion, but it's not impossible for Jesse's Canada Team. I believe they will not suck in the semifinal and they will surprise lots of experts, the rest will be done or not done by the opponent. Canada has a good realistic smart coach now. Had Jesse Marsch been Canada's head coach in the world cup, they would have advanced. They make up the different in Football quality with Athletic superiority, yes they already are or above World Class Teams Athletically. Now the job is to improve the football quality enough to make any opponent recognize. I recognize that Canada is at this moment the Top Dog in the ConcaCAF. Competitive Toughness is NOT a secondary Quality, it's among the Primary Qualities needed to win International Tournaments. If you're Mexico of the USMNT, you know have to fear Canada.. at lest little bit. They are the TOP DOG in the ConcaCAF as I said above.

Their GK to become "the best on the Americas"? That's never going to happen. Not saying he's bad, but his technique is rather unorthodox and he seems to be the least athletic member of the squad. He wouldn't even be considered to be called up for any of the top teams in CONMEBOL.

If they continue to climb levels, they will be in the Second Round of World Cup 2026. Jesse Marsch added that much of Maturity to Canada Men's National Team. From now on it depends on how they handle the other coach and players, if they execute a good game plan flawlessly they can embarrass lots of big names.

Here trying to become more accustomed to Canada football team, because I'll soon be migrating to there.. But one player i have known and always liked is Alphonso Davies as he plays for Bayern.. Congrats for your progress, you have made it to the semis to face the world's champions.. In order for you to continue improving, you have to face the best teams, that's how you are going to discover your weaknesses to work on them, but be mindful you also have your own strengths, which might be able to overpower the opposition no matter how superior they are on paper, you just need to believe in yourselves and go there and do the best you can, and if you end up losing, it wouldn't be a failure, it would just be a lesson that should make you stronger, but what if you should win?? Yes, the odds will definitely be against you, which is good, because there would be no pressure on you, but even if you have 1% to win, that's still a chance to win.. The point is, you do have a chance to win no matter how slim it is, a chance is a chance.. And I'll be here cheering you on 🎉🎉🎉..

Sapporoj6379, No, the Canadian team already had self-confidence when they finished #1 in the qualifiers for the 2022 World cup. Jesse is a good motivator, just as coach John Herdman was; but he brings better tactics, due to his wealth of experience. This Canadian team has always had belief. There were 2 excellent Canadian coaches who were interviewed for this Canadian coaching job, who would have also brought these same qualities; but once again, Jesse brings more international experience. What we as Canadians love about our teams is when they remain both confident & humble in the big matches; but not cocky.

6:35 Jesse Marsch: "We won't back down" now this is an American Quality we remember with Steve Sampson and Bruce Arena.. but we don't find it or we didn't see it in Gregg Berhalter in the 5-1 Friendly or 2-1 loss to Panama and the 1-0 loss to Uruguay. This is the judgment mistake that the USSF made in choosing Gregg over Jesse. Berhalter seems to backdown to stronger opponents. The USMNT should never backdown or give that impression against any opponent. US FANS see that clearly.

As much as I admire the mentality of the Canadian coach, and yes, Canada had Alfonso Davies, who is a superstar in Bayern Munich, however, the reality is Argentina is a World Cup winner , Copa cup winner, and is at the top of the world team ratings, and they have a large number of world class players. If they are lucky enough that the argentinians miss obvious chances, they will still be overpowered by Messi and his team mates. Canada just does not have critical mass of world class players. Even Brazil will struggle against Argentina , France and Spain are the only other teams that can match Argentina power play. Netherlands can give them a good fight for the money.
