    I’m sure the U.S see’s Canada as “minnows” but if you knew the rostered players Americans would see that Canada is not only on par with them but likely have a much better team at the moment and for at least the next few years. What’s even crazier is if you followed Canada qualification matches the past 25 years you would know Canada has never had a team able get forward so easily, I watched some of the old qualifiers at the Azteca, and Canada didn’t even get passed half let alone score on a team like Mexico multiple times. I understand the Mexican team is not what it was and the U.S also but they need to recognize Canada has legitimate players that seem to be just getting warmed -up

The US. 3 straight Nations League wins, and we played a direct role in eliminating Canada twice. Congrats on the tournament, but you're delusional if you think there is a wide gap in Canada's favor. That will be set straight in the 2025 gold cup, where we should finally see the A teams in regional play again.

Also the rest of the Canadian team (i.e. Bombito, Cornelius, Millar etc...) have great potential. The U.S. need to do an honest assessment of their team & stop making these false statements based on assumptions & please don't come back & talk about wins in the Gold cup, in which the best players don't usually participate & the Nations cup, in which Canada was the 2023 runner up, despite the fact that Canada had a lot of union issues etc...& were not at their best. Jesse inherited a better team in Canada. Remember they qualified well ahead of the US for WC22, and here they are again punking the US with a different coach. More disciplined better team that knows how to get results when it matters. Herdman would’ve done this too likely. Canada is just better, facts!

And Jesse Marsch is bringing the best of out of the CNMT. The scary thing is that they will only get better, and will challenge the USMNT and Mexico in CONCACAF. This Copa America tournament has prove beyond all doubt that Canada can play with the very best, and the experiences they have gained will prove very valuable, and eventually will bear fruit. In the sense of taking advantage of the current learning Moment. - We have the USMNT and its coach Gregg Berhalter who didn't demonstrate the American Tough Mentality. - Then we have Canada Men's team and their coach Jesse Marsch who clearly said yesterday that his team has a Tough Mentality. I add to that their Coach Marsch also has that Mentality. Canada will play the Semifinal against Argentina The USMNT is out Remind me again what are the positive characteristics of Gregg Berhalter? Did we as the USMNT benefit something from Gregg's personality or whatever it is that he's teaching? Ecuador Fired their Coach next day Even Brazil in past tournaments fired it's world champion coach when they lost France does the same What are the benefits to US FANs from Gregg Berhalter staying on as USMNT coach? It's like this, you know how to win because winning is a natural thing to you, but others can benefit from our tough mentality US coaches, not us? The USSF is not managing a situation GENIOUSLY, it is creating more opportunities for Failure to last longer. I seriously doubt Gregg Berhalter knows what happened against Columbia or Panama. For the USSF to act like Gregg is a part of some genius plan for 2026, they're taking a huge risk which is guaranteed to cost the USMNT more regression. Gregg has nothing else to give to the USMNT, and the players can like him all they want it won't change the fact that our style of play can win (Canada) but we lost. This means we played below our natural level Mr. Berhalter. You reading this USSF?

  • @sisque16
    @sisque1610 күн бұрын

    Here’s a technical breakdown to hire Marsch, US soccer chooses players on speed and physicality, not technical ability; using this logic our players are better suited playing a high press and/or counterattacking style because using our speed/physicality we can maximize our strengths in transition in the counter attack and in transition where one pass can lead to a dangerous situation. Berhalter on the other hand is trying to play a possession based system, so if you take my assumption of the players we pick, our speed and athleticism is a weakness when trying to play out of the back.

    I agree to some extent on the high press thing. What you lack in experience you make up for in speed and athleticism. But I don't think our midfield is that bad. Our midfield has been stronger than most, e.g. England in the WC. In Copa Amer what I saw was young guys who don't know how to play S Amer ball. If you hold the ball for any length of time you will get taken out. You only dribble at the opponents penalty box because they can't foul you there. Otherwise it should be fast passing through the middle when things line up. Every time our guys decided to dribble to progress the ball all the space was shut down immediately because conmebol is great at that. It has always been that way.
