One night, at Doug Weston’s Troubadour, West Hollywood, California, I was having a nice conversation with one of the band members of Trashcan Sinatras. I mentioned The Desperadoes and he was like, “Oh, yeah! We know them and used to play shows together.” My brain exploded.

please thank him from me for some of my all time favourite indie tunes. The most under rated indie band of the time by a long way. gutted I never got to see them

Please tell him I’m a huge fan & he’s so accomplished. One of the best songs of the entire 80’s. I’d love to talk to him

I went to see Jesse Garon & the Desperadoes play in Edinburgh - with The Close Lobsters, and the Wedding Present on the same bill. What a great night. Top song.

Great band, were part of the soundtrack to my early teens. Saw them play upstairs at Newcastle Broken Doll pub. Stephen from Woosh used to put on a tonne of great bands there & I think this was one of his nights.

Saw them in The Admiral in Waterloo Street Glasgow. Great band and this song is a masterpiece. Just wonderfully captures the magic of growing up "and the stars are mine tonight" And I was almost forty at he time! Music keeps you young.
