    I lived in SoFL when Shaq was with Miami. Over the years, I've been fortunate enough to meet MANY great athletes, from Mantle and DiMaggio to Wilt and Russell, Ali, Koufax and Drysdale, Nolan Ryan, Hakeem and Clyde...but Shaq was the NICEST most generous one of the lot. For a good cause, he would show up anywhere, anytime and always give his all. And he LOVED kids, who obviously returned the sentiment. He was also the BIGGEST human I've ever seen, including Wilt, who looked downright slender next to Shaq.

    I have him #10 All-time,but he would never be in the G.O.A.T. conversation because alot of people are simplistic ring counters,& his 1-8 record in Finals is frowned on unjustly. Even though he averaged more points,rebounds,assist,steals,& shot a higher field goal percentage than Kobe,most people don't put him as the second greatest point guard ever.Again unjustly.

    Jerry West had more to do with making the 5:13 L.A. Lakers a solid franchise than any other Laker player. Jerry had the heart of a warrior and the great skill set of his era. I watched him from the time he first came to L.A. until he retired. After his playing days, he built the team and the organization. The Lakers should have kept him in the franchise. Lakers loss.

    Michael Jordan Once Declined To Be Called 'GOAT': “I don’t want it on a sense because I think it disrespects Wilt Chamberlain, Jerry West. You know, all the guys that prior to me, I never had a chance to play against. What everybody’s saying I am I never had the chance to compete with other legends that were prior to me. When I hear it, I cringe a little bit because it’s a little bit embarrassing because no one knows… I would love to have played against them but I never did. For you to say, I am better than him, I mean it’s your opinion," Jordan said.

    Jerry, please get Mac McClung signed to an NBA club. He's the reigning NBA Slam Dunk Champ and still toiling in the GLeague. McClung reminds me of you with his vert and natural athleticism.

  • @muddeer5383

    @muddeer5383

    7 ай бұрын

    What does his vert have to do with him belonging in the league? McClung is a power-jumper, meaning his jumping power comes from his upper legs and hips. In basketball, what is important is not how high you can jump, but how quickly you can get to the ball. Sure, when you have all the time in the world to ready your jump, power jumpers are great. But that happens maybe once or twice in a game, and of course in dunk contests. Power jumpers have to squat down low first to get the burst upwards, which takes too long. In basketball, what is valuable is quick leapers, those who's jumping power comes from their calf muscles and ankles: Dr. J, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, etc.

    Nowadays every good ballhandler uses a crossover to break down defender so you need to be able to go both ways. Back in the day it was more about change speed than change direction (hesitation dribble start stop slow down speed up.) If that was your main move (and the ones who were good at it could open themselves up just as well as current guys with their crossover) you could get by fine if you weren't equally good at changing direction.
