Here I pay tribute to Tony Orlando - one of the greatest Telethon Hosts NY ever had. Tony began in NY in 1983 and gave his all. He jokes, hosted, talked with the people, performed, sang and pleaded in ways that made you want to root for him like few others.
I've posted a few choice clips from 1983 - 1988. You have a bit of the tap-a-thon from 1985 and the aftermath, the closing moments of 1984 - 1987, fun and funny moments from 1987 & 1988 and even a 1986 blooper that went live on TV - it is Live TV folks..

Thank you Tony Orlando. I still listen to your music when I can find it on the radio. I listen to your music when it’s played on the Lost 45’s with Barry Scott. And also, thanks to Jerry Lewis for starting this whole thing to begin with. Thanked greedy for kicking him off. Only the Greedy die very old.

I know the sadly perhaps obvious answer here, but does anyone know what happened to the kid Brian on the 1983 show ? I saw the documentary on Christopher Rush (the 1984 poster child) but I wondered about Brian ? I couldn't work out what they were saying his surname was.
