Down-to-earth, pompous, off-putting, heartwarming… We get to see all the facets of the man he was. Always intelligent and passionate about his craft ✨

When I watch this, I am sad because he's dead... He was so young, so handsome, full of humor, of energy, of intelligence and talents.... Time is murderer. ..😢

He was always so sincere, he spoke to people's faces, he was not aligned with anyone, which is why he was not liked by the critics and the Hollywood of those days. He was self-centered, sure, but he could afford it. All actors are self-centered, otherwise they wouldn't be on stage. He didn't hide it. He never hid, he said: I am like that, either you love me or you hate me. Transparent to the core. And in those years he was also damn handsome and charismatic. The most underrated Hollywood actor perhaps also his fault. It would have been perfect, in those days, for serious roles and a romantic actor. In my opinion, in the 1960s, he would also have been perfect in the role, true, of James Bond.

Even after King of comedy, he said Comedy was in his DNA. And I think that his numerous health issues explain that he couldn't do all he wanted..He also has had bankruptcy, financial problems, an expensive divorce, etc....Probably a part of his bitterness and angry while aging....

I understand why you say that, but I think at that point in his career and life, he was not yet able to stay serious long enough in front of the camera to portray a James Bond that would be taken seriously. At this point he was still saying that there were enough serious actors who could do a better job, but there were not enough actors who accomplish the kind of comedic acting he did. He probably would not have wanted to do such a serious role yet (although he did not wait long to try, TDTCC was not far off).

@@daniellebourgade8701 Jerry Lewis at 90 was a survivor. He NEVER got over the breakup with Dean, just look at his interviews ... even as an elderly man, when he talked about Dean and the separation his eyes were veiled with tears. He had a lonely and difficult childhood dominated by the fear of abandonment, American critics have always been mean to him, in 1965 the fall that almost ruined his career, the chronic pains that never left him. The many years dominated by Percondan, the bankruptcy procedure, the double bypass, the divorce from Patti, the betrayal of some of her children, prostate cancer, pulmonary fibrosis, diabetes, viral meningitis. All this while, little by little, he was losing his lifelong friends: Ed McMahon, Sammy Davis, Sinatra, "his" Dean, one of his sons and who knows how many others. In his last years he hardly heard anymore, he hardly saw anymore, he hardly walked anymore. I challenge anyone not to become like him as an elder. He overcame everything with his head down, always going forward despite everything. I will NEVER stop admiring his life force and courage. Beyond his brilliant and immense talent. Jerry Lewis was a special person. Only the mediocre will never understand it. (I'm not referring to you as mediocre, I'm talking broadly)

He was very handsome at this period and charming with great charisma. His answers are very intelligent and funny and really I rarely have seen so many different personnalities ( more than two ) in an unique human beeing when you follow him through his numerous interviews given during his life. Someone very complex and so, interesting.

I think it was the remake of That's My Boy, that he had planned to make. Although I believe he wanted to star as the father in that one. Here he talks about only directing it. So I'm not exactly sure.

That statement he made saying politicians adding humor makes them more endearing is so true. But in today's world where liberals want to be so serious and can't take sarcasm has made that endearing politician only disdained. This is Unfortunate.
