There is no better passage in the book of Jeremiah that summarizes his message of the judgment of Jerusalem and Judah, and the current state of the worship of God in the land, than Jeremiah’s temple sermon of chapter seven. God uses Jeremiah to confront the idolatry of the people of Judah right at the very place that they thought they were most safe; that is, at the temple.
