@@TotallyTabledAnd I really like the way you directly dive in gameplay and explain the reason why you make every move which helps me a lot with learning how to play. Mostly others just don't explain the reason, instead they talk about rules a lot, which makes me confused about how to play though I know all the rules.

I love this game. Admittedly, the rule book is lousy. Played it for a month and I might try another harder scenario soon. I like the way you respect the pieces and cards. Where did you get the steaks please ?

I believe Stonemaier Games put out a specific deluxe token pack for Robinson Crusoe. I have no idea if that is still out there to purchase or not. The geek store has some geekup bits that look nice for the tokens, but I never got those. I usually use poker chips for determination. Thanks Apollonia!

These huge amounts of wasting food are always hurting so so much, because you know exactly how useful they would be for the next round/s 😣😅 but the gorilla attack was really frightening, but lucky you were prepared and got away without getting any damage 😉😄

I was so close to getting that cellar (or trying to) but usually wasting food isn't a problem. That gorilla could have sustained us for two rounds. Very sad.

@@TheoWinter Yep, you definitely need to "solve" food somehow either with massive hunting or the right inventions. Some scenarios are more difficult in this respect than others.

Great play through. Quick questions: why did you explore the burnt area? We’re you forced to? If not, why not just choose the other possible option and keep all the resources? Or can you only explore adjacent to a camp?

Thanks Max! That's a good question. I think I go over this a bit in the third video but exploring further from camp requires an extra player action token per space you skip, so either 2 or 3 pawns for nonadjacent. Pretty expensive. What you can do is move your camp to a more central tile to make it easier to explore the entire island. But you produce on the tile where your camp is, so you often have to sacrifice production to do so. In this playthrough, I decided to go for a low exploration strategy because I got everything I needed from my first three explores. Hope that answers your question!

I was curious what type of coin capsules did you use on your discovery tokens?

Thanks for watching Lindsey! I just ordered them in bulk on Amazon for very cheap. I cannot remember the size, and I think it is different for each edition, so I would measure your tokens first. I want to say 25mm or 27mm, but that is a guess. Hope that helps.

Great playthrough! In the gorilla fight, did you need to lose your 3 permanent weapons? Thanks to the Frenzy ability, your temporary weapons level for the fight was 6, so do you not instead lose the 3 (temporary) weapons that Frenzy gave you, and keep the 3 permanent weapons? I absolutely love this game, but the rulebook is a right pain when it comes to finding the answer to edges cases like this!

You are right about the rulebook. I always do the most thematically appropriate thing. The gorilla is destroying your physical weapons. Frenzy just means you are fighting better. So I think the case is clear. Now, what is the actual rule? No idea. Thanks for watching Jay!

@@TotallyTabled You played correctly, the rule from the second edition: "Lower the actual weapon level (marked with a marker on the weapon scale without taking into account the temporary increase) by the value indicated on the map"

Definitely not necessary and I rarely play with it because the base game is so good. That said, it introduces a lot of interesting things, but also ups the complexity. I would only recommend it to hardcore Robinson players who need some extra replayability. Thanks for watching!

In this video it is my first edition copy with some personal upgrades collected over a decade ago. In my latest RC video -- Reality Island -- I use a mishmash of first, second, and collector's edition stuff with some upgrades. Thanks for watching!
