what you mentioned before, the fact that people even think Lisa is the main rapper when they are new to Blackpink is the fault of the agency, because they promote Jennie as a vocalist, (which she actually is, she has different roles in the group), but her main main position is rapping, and I think she deserves good, long rap verses in their main songs, I think the last time we got that was in DDU DU DDU DU

It's because YG found that marketing Lisa as a rapper worked instantly, like building a character, like a bad female, which actually works since Lisa captivates the attention of non kpop stans as soon as they hear Blackpink music they like Lisa the first since she raps.

Lisa is also a very good vocalist as she showed in her solos and in her collab, but almost never sings in Blackpink, because it works better with the other three. She also never got any dance breaks even while being the main dancer. That's what being a group is about, everyone has space to shine and everyone has to make some sacrifices. Plus, Jennie also said that she likes to sing and that she started rapping because she was the only trainee with good english. So it's probably fine for her to sing more and have some rap verse from time to time.

@@mabel3989 i agree except for the part where jennie was okay with not having rapping lines. She said it herself that she missed rapping and loves it more than anything else. When she got a long verse from ddd, she was so happy too. I also kind of get the whole "everyone has space to shine" but jennie is the MAIN rapper, groups' main rapper RAPS. Blackpink has a lot of dance breaks too, and often times it's Lisa and chaeng in the middle since they're part of the dance line. We cant deny jennie indeed wants to rap more hence why she just made one herself for her new version of solo

Jennie main rapper and lead vocalist. Love her versatility in both positions. In addition she is a great dancer, not powerful but a smooth dance(contemporary). She is an exceptional idol, one who can also write and produce. We love our multi talented queen. Can’t wait to see what Jennie has in store for us in her solo career.

Jennie is the most versatile artist I know. She can rap any types of flow , she can sing both low and high notes, she can dance gracefully and charismatically even if she is not part of the danced line, she can transform from hot to a baby just by a smile, etc. YG saw a Gem in her because whatever she was asked to do she can deliver it.

And one more general secret that you know (BLINKS): the rap version on the cover of Sure Thing is Jennie's writing & also the song Lovesick Girls was originally written by Jennie too. and because of the ability to write rap lines for Blackpink, it was Jennie who was named the main rapper of Blackpink.

The song at 05:45 is Special by Lee Hi ft. Jennie. Lee Hi was BP's labelmate in YGE. This song was released before Jennie debuted. They were both around 17 when this was released. And most of BLACKPINK's Japanese versions' raps are in English.

As we wait for new BLACKPINK content, check out JENNIE's 'SOLO' remix THE SHOW version (uploaded by SBCentertaiment), she re-wrote the whole rap verse and made it much longer...

Jennies got a strong enough singing voice to start off songs so they tend to use her for that rather than her rapping as Lisa isnt quite there with her singing. So Jennie ends up having her amount of time rapping cut down or even cut out. And Lisa ends up loosing her singing lines and gaining rapping lines.

Jennie can be everything that Blackpink needs her to be flawlessly..rap, vocals, visual, dance, songwriter, producer.. everything! P.s. All their Japanese versions have raps in english. I would suggest to watch Jennie and Lisa English raps compilation.
