The reason is that she's the main rapper and a lead vocalist too. So technically if she covers both those roles then she will have way more lines than Lisa, who's the lead rapper and doesn't usually sing since she's a sub vocal. Jennie already gets crap for singing so much so usually since she also has singing lines, they give the rap parts to Lisa. As a Jennie stan myself, it hurts me but I get what they're trying to do since Jennie is literally an ace and can do all. I love her rap and her deep voice when she sings too so I'm torn 😂😭

And none of you thought it may come down to the cadance and vocal ranges required by the songs in question? Some 'rap' suits Jennie's vocal abilities, others Lisa's - and I expect Rosé could do a credible job if required, I know Jisoo can. Personally, I prefer Lisa's vocal to Jennie's most of the time, but Jennie slays, too 😎 and I couldn't imagine anyone else doing her lines.

@@dolly12810 Main rapper has the best rapping abilities, has the most raps and if there's only one rap in a song they will take it the most times, I would say 3/5. The lead rapper is the one with the second best rapping abilities who will generally share the rap with the main but also here and there have one entire rap just for them. With that being said, in BP the main rapper (Jennie) is given raps as if she was the lead, hence people refering to Lisa as a rapper first and then remember Jennie (like the reactor in the video), who should be the main but only recently had her first rap in 2 years.

I rarely get the chills when it comes to music, ( and that doesn't happen ), but Blackpink does it with every single song they do, ( and from what I've listened to ), I rarely get speechless.

These girls lietrally took everyone by surprise with such a cool debut mv. This really introduced the girsl well Jennie and Lisa with their powerfull raps and bad girl energy, Jisoo with her vocals and visuals and Rosé with her honey like vocals and always having a unique vocal tone. They really were the revolution. You cant help but just get up and dance as soon as this song comes on

I am not sure what you mean by "treated like a vocalist". She IS an amazing vocalist, I mean have you heard Jennie sing? Especially on the new album! I understand that some people prefer when she is rapping, but in my opinion she is as good of a vocalist as she is a rapper. She can do both things very very good. Maybe she chooses herself to focus more on singing rather than rapping?

@@imperialcourier7232 we all know Jennie can sing well! Heck if she was in another group she could even be main vocalist. But she is a main rapper at the end of the day- yet she sings more. In LSG there wasn’t even a rap part for her- so she had to write in her own rap or else she would’ve got nothing. Yeah we know she likes to do both, but at this stage it isn’t even balanced. I was following Jennie since pre debut, and she definitely looked so cool and happy doing darker/ hip hop concepts (she even mentioned it in the Netflix documentary). For all the main rappers in YG, Jennie seems to be the one mismanaged the most.

@@lucifer243 I was aware that she took part in the writing of the song but I didn't know that they were originally not planning on giving her a rap part in the song. That is kind of sad to be honest. But yeah now that you mention it, they did show some of the old clips from her trainee days in the Netflix documentary, and she was indeed focusing more on a bit darker stuff and I also remember her commenting on that in the documentary. I haven't been following the group for as long as you have, so you obviously know more about this than I do, but yeah I guess considering she is the main rapper of the group, one would expect her to have more rap parts in songs than she currently does. Again I will say I enjoy both her singing and rapping and I think she is super talented in both fields, but I understand why people would get upset if she doesn't rap as much as one would expect the main rapper to do. Especially for people who have been following her as long as yourself. I didn't mean to criticize you or other people wanting her to rap in my first comment, I was just stating my own opinion about her singing being very good as well.

@@lucifer243 Alright, good to know 🙂 Hopefully after Rosé, Lisa and Jisoo have released their solo (hopefully very soon), maybe Jennie can have a shot at another solo song or a mini album where she gets total creative freedom to put out any kind of music and style she wants. Maybe then we will see something more like the stuff she was into when she was a trainee. I really hope that the company will let the girls call the shots and have complete creative freedom on their upcoming solo projects so we can see their unique taste and what they are all truly about.
