When you watch this movie from beginning to end .. this scene is one of the sweetest confessions in a movie I've ever seen. It wrenches the heart. We all know these two were meant to be together, no matter the obstacles. Thank God for Happy Endings!

@@TheBeliever1204 no he was going on with the wedding but he gave her the house that he had made for her on her 13th birthday that still had some of the wishing dust on top of it .. she took it, sat on her front steps and wished to be 13 again .. next scene she's in her closet with the blindfold on and Maddie opens the door .. they are 13 again and she gets her do-over.

No matter how many times I have watched this movie,it will always be one of my favourites

"You know, you don't always get the dream house, but you get awfully close." Life imitating art, or art imitating life, but this scene IS something that plays out no telling how many times - someone looks back and wishes or thinks if they had done something different, when (many times) it is too late.

Imagine being soulmates and madly in love with someone and then making the decision to marry someone else.

I know someone that it seems she did that, although, not directly, just years after it and she lives with regrets. Now in that scene, that's not exactly what it happened there, as he said, he now loved and cared about someone else and he moved on, he felt things for her again in those recent weeks, but, that was basically over in his heart, too.

@@TenchiShinMei77 actually, he said care, not love about the other woman. The story implies that Jenna's choices not only screwed her life up but caused him to not really believe in true love anymore, he's basically settling for someone he likes, not loves.

As a kid watching this made me sad and a bit misty eyed despite not even having any romantic experience back then.

i think he meant her and all her family and him care about each other, they've had a bond now for a long time, so he can't just let that go for a childhood love that abandoned him for 18 years

I get some want them together, but, it's not he doesn't love his soon-to-be wife, it's implied that now he loves her, meeting again with Jenna brought back some feelings for her, but, those feelings he used to have for her they're gone now. Also, when people grew apart, it's certainly hard to go back to what it was again, whether it's love or friendship. People's also missing the message of the story thinking he's still deeply in love with Jenna.

Lol! We care about each other is the ACTUAL LOVE that stays... different from mometary pleasure and outbursts of passionate I LOVE YOUs which end up like 30 year old Jenna's life

This is my favourite memorable scene as well as the kiss scene at the swing! It was a very touching emotional moment when she confessed her feeling to Matt on his wedding day

Mark has always been a great actor and he gets a lot of credit for his talent. Jennifer on the other hand is a great actress too but a lot of people don't give her credit for that.

The ending, when she goes back to being thirteen with Matty... What if that was just a dream, and in reality, she moved on with her life and Matty got married to his wife.... Horrible but that would be the realistic ending
