I have to say, I enjoy the fact that this movie doesn't make Wendy a villain. Yes, she's an obstacle to the protagonists, but that's not her fault. She seems like a genuinely nice person, she's just not the right one for Matt, because he and Jenna belong together

But this one does. The true villain is actually Lucy aka Tom-Tom because she has been bullying Jenna since childhood and is now her co-worker at Poise. She tries throughout the entire film to usurp Jenna's position as head editor by pretending to be her friend so she can secretly sabotage her and destroy her. She's the real threat, not Wendy

That's right. Jenna made her wish (choice) and our choices do indeed have consequences! Wendy was a nice but wasn't right for Matt. I think he was settling for her. Jenna was very fortunate to have been able to undo her earlier wish so she could be with Matt. Jenna needed to not judge a book by its cover.

I think it was done intentionally to have him be a bit ditzy and naturally happy. He’s oblivious to the fact Jenna is clearly into Matty in this scene. With his happy carefree demeanor, when him and Jenna broke up (or if he ever found out about her cheating) he would probably be sad for a short time and then go be happy and in a good mood. He’s able to bounce back.

The way he rescues Jenna when she doesn't know her boyfriend's name. He pays attention to her and wants to help/support her.

I like how Matt took a dig back at Lucy commenting to him “You lost all your baby fat, how’s the beeves stay warm in the winter?” with “I almost didn’t recognize you. Did you get a nose job?”

Facts, back when I watched this at 10 years old ,I was so lost in the magic of the movie and good acting skills that I believed she really woke up 30 but was still 13 on the inside 😂 watching her acting back then , you couldn't tell me otherwise!

It's both that awkward moment went you meet your best friend's fiancé and you find out that the person you used to torment grew up atractive

lol this happened to me. I was bullied in Middle school by a couple of girls for my acne... fast forward to highschool I actually got through puberty alright and ended up pretty tall and people have told me, not bad looking ( I hate saying that, but can't find another way of explaining...). I ran into one of those girls later on at college. Very friendly conversation, I had no hard feelings. I could immediately pickup on the regret. She mentioned something about maybe we should hangout sometime before leaving. Haha. Yeah sure....

Anyone notice how Matt stutters at 0:36 from seeing Jenna all dressed up? The close up to her face then to him having trouble getting words out seems like he’s stupefied by how beautiful she looks. Then Tom-tom being the awkward 5th wheel lol.

Of course she's threatened... Given she's a grown woman capable of observing what's going on around her, I'm sure she picked up on Matt's feelings about Jenna. And Jenna popped up out of nowhere and now she's constantly around or contacting him. She claimed her territory in a polite and classy way but anyone would be uneasy with their fiance's childhood love/crush popping up out of nowhere and suddenly wanting to be around all the time... Especially when it's clear Jenna also has a thing for Matt

This is a great time-travel movie! Alex's laugh is so cute.

I have a theory that Jenna had a mental breakdown after her 30th birthday and reverted to a childlike state. She didn’t like the person she had become and deluded herself into thinking she could go back in time to when she last felt innocent. The final point of her delusion is when she makes a grand gesture to go and get Matt but is rejected, at which point she goes outside with her dollhouse and fantasizes about a timeline in which the two of them get married and live happily ever after.

Sounds like Matt doesn't want to move to Chicago. Well, he did know that was going to happen when he proposed to her, didn't he? In a long distance relationship, that comes with the territory. Eventually one has to move to the other's location. He's like a freelance photographer so he can work anywhere but Wendy works for Chicago news which means she has to live in Chicago, she can't move to NYC.
