LYRICS:
Somebody save me, me from myself
I've spent so long living in Hell
They say my lifestyle is bad for my health
It's the only thing that seems to help
All of this drinkin' and smokin' is hopeless
But feel like it's all that I need
Somethin' inside of me's broken
I hold on to anything that sets me free
I'm a lost cause
Baby, don't waste your time on me
I'm so damaged beyond repair
Life has shattered my hopes and my dreams
I'm a lost cause
Baby, don't waste your time on me
I'm so damaged beyond repair
Life has shattered my hopes and my dreams
What if the night sky was missin' the moon?
There were no shootin' stars to use wishin' on you
And all of my sorrows, I'd just wash them down
It's the only peace, I've ever found
All of this drinkin' and smokin' is hopeless
But feel like it's all that I need
Somethin' inside of me's broken
I hold on to anything that sets me free
I'm a lost cause
Baby, don't waste your time on me
I'm so damaged beyond repair
Life has shattered my hopes and my dreams
I'm a lost cause
Baby, don't waste your time on me
I'm so damaged beyond repair
Life has shattered my hopes and my dreams

1st welcome home and thank you for your sacrifices. 2nd what branch my pops was a vietnam era marine. 3rd im glad your doing better i had to fight my cousin 3 tours airborne when he was 1 liter of whiskey drunk and talking all suicidal asking me to give him a gun like fuck no cold dead hands bitch wich he took litterally for as drunk as he was incredibly hard to take to the ground once he calmed down he agreed to rehab id take the lumops and bumps from anyone that served to prevent people from experiencing that. Hell i even called a liberal congressman had to burb my phone after to get his treatment pushed through the v.a. and got him 100% dissability and lined out i pray that theres someone in your life that cares like that the fact it takes so much for yall to get help or even alittle respect is something pops always made sure i was aware of and made sure i knew it wasnt ok i feel like some care and respect would go a long ways to help the amount of veteran suicides go down programs to help transition back into society new forms of therapy to replace old ones that just dont work very well if there had veen assistance my pops would still be here as it wouldve been easier for him to get help w his demons

@That one dude You don't know brother i appreciate you saving one of my brothers and for the words. I was with the 1st infantry division, then the 10th mountain. I have friends that care, just wished i had family that cares as much as they did. They just dont want to hear about some of the things i had to do. That alcohol is no joke, it had a hold of me just like your cousin. Pints of jack with a 30 pack no problem. Keep being there for tour cousin, because Lord knows the VA isnt ever going to be.

I absolutely love that Jelly is making music about situations and lifestyles not normally in the country genre but lives all over the lives of country music fans. Addiction runs deep and it is refreshing seeing it given a voice, instead of another song about beer and trucks. Keep it up and keep writing YOUR story.

Man I first heard this song in Rehab last February. I don't think I've ever connected with a song on such a level and at such an emotionally vulnerable time in my life. 444 days sober today. Thanks Jelly whenever I'm feeling too confidant or too low I listen to the song to remember exactly what every damn day in my life was like and how grateful I am for every day sober.

This song was the story of my life for nearly my whole life. I was a heroin addict for 18 years and drank most of my life. I took God's grace for granted and took it for kindness until I finally fell and broke my neck while drunk and now I'm a quadriplegic but it took that to get born again so in the long run it was worth it.

You should've been recognized YEARS AGO for all the people you've helped with their addictions, and struggling with mental health issues! Jelly I listen to you every day because it gives me hope that I might have the strength to stay clean today! 61 & still struggling! The 5 1/2 years I had clean were the BEST! THANKS TO YOU! Your songs are so much like my life it amazes me! My Dad passed away 5/25 a few years ago & EVERYTHING HIT ME LIKE A TON OF BRICKS! Mom passed a few years before him so I'm alone now & it's sucks! Would love to go fishing with Dad again at 3:30 a.m. rain or shine. The name of the boat was "JUST FLUCKIN AROUND" we gotta lot of laughs from people about it! If it wasn't for YOU I'd be 6 ft. under! Sorry to keep rambling on but the walls don't talk back & I'm not that nuts yet! Hope YOU (Jelly Roll & the wife Bunnie) have a NICE MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND!💯☝️💘 THANK YOU TO ALL THE SERVICE MEN & WOMEN FOR PUTTING THEIR LIVES ON THE LINE FOR US💯☝️🇺🇲

The idea of it's the only thing that sets me free lyric is so juxtaposed. Addicts a are aware they're choosing to continue with the this they know The cause of all their turmoil is the the addiction and that to think it's the only thing that can keep you from flipping off the deep end is the very same substance. Save me ME FROM MYSELF continued to be my hope. I'm doing well now and every day I'm clean is a good day

My husband has been helped by his music like so many others. We got lucky and have had the honor of meeting Jellyroll. Seeing him up there doing these big things is an inspiration for those with similar struggles because people who have been helped by his music see him as representing them and speaking for the outlaws and the misunderstood and those in recovery.

I listen to this song every morning to get me going. What a performance and such heart. I can feel it from both of them and something I need from time to time. This song and Monsters from James Blunt. I need it and it's now on my bucket list - to get to see both of them in person. Sometimes it's difficult to get to see them being in northern Idaho almost Canada but I'll figure it out
