The way Gene rubbed his back was very sweet. Showed he cared. What a great moment for Jeff.

I have talked with Gene 3 times, and every time when meeting him, he has been gracious, humble and extremely appreciative. Him, Brian May and Rob Halford were the coolest rockers I have ever met. Just nice people.

I see you Gene. I can't even believe he hugged the guy, himself normally being more of a "fist bump" guy unless he's on camera. He's always different on camera, which yeah you'd think would be common sense but I have heard too many stories to the contrary about Gene to believe it.

@@voteZDLR He obviously has bad days just like anyone else. A lot of the time though, I believe he is playing the Demon and comes of like a douche. Same when he tries to be Professor Know-It-All. As far as the real person, who knows, but judging from the behaviour of his children, he must be doing something right.

I worked in a hotel many years ago that housed most of the bands coming through Denver. You can add Alice Cooper and Steven Tyler to the list of gracious and humble people.

I met Gene once and he was very nice to have a short conversation with me. I can tell he appreciates his fans.

this proves beyond the shadow of a doubt that gene has a heart.gettin tired of people sayin he doesnt.does he have an ego? of course dont all musicians?but he deserves to have one.he came to this country when he was 8 and worked hard for all he has.the band he helped put together has been around longer than any band except the rollin stones.so yes ego deserved

I'm a 60 year old American serving the Lord over here in South Africa. I've never been a Kiss fan.... although as a young man I did like their song, "Beth". In the late 70's I went more for the contemporary Christian rock scene.... with artists such as Keith Green, David Meece, and Amy Grant. I have seen through the years how we all try, and put people into nice little boxes, but with Gene Simmons I don't think that works very well. His acts of kindness and compassion were just what Jesus ordered us to do while we are on this earth. I can say in all honesty, that I truly respect this man. A man whom I thought was a crazy nut job, but it seems he had me fooled all these years, and not only me, but many of us, and isn't that grand? When even the best of us can be fooled? I think Gene has even fooled the devil? lol.... too bad for him!!! But none of us can fool God....he sees our hearts....and he sees Gene's heart, and I think he is pleased in what he sees. While here in South Africa, I've been able to produced my own Christian music album. It's not one style of music, but several. Some country songs....some classic rock songs...a worship song, and even a jazz song...lol. In my later years.... I've even surprised myself...lol. Here is a link to the one song on the album I think Kiss fans would enjoy hearing. It's song number 6 on my album and I've dedicated it to the devil. Why..... you ask? Well....lets just say that the title of the song says it all. "Devil Your Days Are Numbered" lol...and they really are! I met Gene in 02. Was totally down to earth with me.

Say what you will about the guy - the way he goes straight to giving a warm hug to someone to which this clearly means the world is just sweet.

Jeff is on some serious pain killers. This is so tragic and weird and just happy and sad at the same time I’m speechless almost other than what I had to say

This very cool moment, that will always be remembered, it hardly qualifies as betrayal of Bible dogma. So please don't get all preachy while trying to insert yourself into this man's dream of a lifetime. This gentleman has been through the wreckage of pure pain that his medical condition has inflicted on him. On the other hand...We know it's only rock and roll and we like it! Anyway you slice it, this was a very classy scene, a real feel good moment for the people who participated in the actual event. A big thank you, to those who filmed and posted the video, so those of us watching from around the world, could experience just a little of that warmth and happiness. 😊

Gene has a great sence of humor .always been my favorite musician. Even though I never met him in person, watching him with others gives me joy.

Jeff was blown away and Gene was gracious and accommodating, such a great video.

This is fantastic! Gene is a rock legend, but first and foremost, a genuine (and genuinely funny) human being!

i don't care what people say about gene. guys got a heart of gold.

Meet Gene in 1997 at the lobby of Hyatt Hotel in Buenos Aires. Nice and humble. He even told the bodyguards to relax and withdrawn...he signed patienly my booklets of both Alive! and Destroyer. Gave us (my wife was with me) a hug and continue to breakfast. Rockstars breakfast at 02:30 PM. Thanks Gene. You are the best.

This is amazing!!! I am not a KISS fan but I can tell you that Gene Simmons gets it and seems so humble here. All I can say is WOW!!! That meant the world to that man and it just makes your heart melt that he took the time to see his fan. So impressed because without the fans Kiss and Gene Simmons would be nobodies. Bravo Gene!!!

I met Gene one time in Washington DC and gave me a fistbump.

Fans met with Gene and Paul At the Montreal KISS Convention in 1995. Gene was great and Paul also !

Genuinely moving to watch this. Hats off to Gene.

What an amazing guy. The best videos of him are the make a wish thing he did for the two brothers, any time he meets with the vets and when he talks about what his mother went through during the Holocaust.

Gene's underlying ability to grasp and recognize this man's lifelong devotion to the KISS brand is what continues to sell tickets, merchandise and a continued love of the KISS business plan by fans. I'm more impressed by Jeff and his outward honesty than anything else.

This is SO cool... it is difficult to not cry . Not sure if Gene is my hero...I just always thought he was a good guy....he is part of my past.... KISS is part of my past....they were there when I needed them

I understand getting overwhelmed especially meeting someone you look up to or aspire to be like But !!! When you as Jeff said “ worship “ a person for being a entertainer that you thought looked and sounded cool as a youngster in my opinion says something about how we view ourselves on the inside and our worth becomes dangerous to us as a individual right ??? This is brilliant, I drink sometimes, and I have sweets as well, I don't smoke used too, over 20 years ago. Gene actually looks in great shape. His humour is very much intact. Seen Kiss on their Alive/Worldwide Tour, in New Zealand in 1996/1997. Not too big for fans, that's important.

That made me cry. What a touching moment.

Gene is so misinterpretated, everyone thinks he's just about money, money money but when you actually meet him, he is one of the sweetest nicest guys you'd ever meet. I have the honor to meet him back in 2002. He was doing a book signing in security at the bookstore kicked us out because we weren't buying the book so we were in the back parking lot sitting there. Bummed out when his limo pulled up he gets out and ask what we were doing outside told Gene, what happened and he said bull crap come with me brought us back into the bookstore everyone cheered then he asked them. Do you mind if these two fellas cut in line and then we got an autograph and took a picture with him? He's a real stand-up guy
