You just couldn’t categorize the God given genius of Jeff Beck. He was and is in a class of guitarist and musician by himself because he IS that category....alone. And Jeff always surrounded himself with world class musicians who could help him realize the intangible....music. This is a case where mere words fail to describe musical talent, heart and soul. Rest In Peace Jeff Beck. Your playing taught us to be better listeners.🕊🎸

IT IS NOT OFTEN THAT THE DRUMS (STEVE ALEXANDER) and BASS (RANDY HOPE DAVIES) and SECOND GUITAR ( JENNIFER BATTEN)can show what they can do, together with JEFF BECK WHO SHOWS HIS RESPECT FOR ALL OF THEM. THIS IS WHAT JEFF DID TIME AND AGAIN. There is so much of this concert that I love. It has Science Fiction feel, and MAGIC or "out of this world" FEEL to it, Blue Wind. I think I like this concert so much that IT IS THERE RIGHT AT THE TOP.! There is humour as well! Love to you all and I adore you all!!! We did not know this at school where we met Jeff aged 14, who came in half way through the year, when we were most aged 13, at Sutton East School, in Surrey. He once came in with a load of wires and bits of wood, and went straight to the storeroom just after lunch, and he sat on the floor. He was a new comer, and we all watched what he was going to do. The boys who knew him best and were the only ones who spoke to him passed down the message to the rest of the class, that Jeff was trying to making a guitar. I though to myself, with that lot, he will have a big problem, but somehow some blues notes came out of that store cupboard. To this day I do not know how that happened! When I left school I would sometimes see him in the distance near the Cinema and bus stop. I am sure that the class all did what I did- we watched the news to see if his name would pop up. Of course it did as he became a member of the Yardbirds. However he did go on and become world famous. He stayed true to himself. His mother was a trained pianist and his father &/or uncle played jazz. I understood, because my mother was also a trained concert pianist and also a Jazz pianist who played professionally. I watched out for news of Jeff and gradually he appeared more and more, eventually showing himself in the Yardbirds, and then going on to do wonderful things with Beck Bogart and Appice. He was always going to be different. I have been catching up on KZread, to whom I am very grateful. This music is what Jeff Beck is about;- at this time a youthful 64 years of age; a wonderful and fantastic guitar player, arranger and composer with touches of modern music and invention all of his own, and helped with fellow players of fantastic standard, like Jennifer Batten: Steve Alexander and Randy Hope Davies. The UK missed out on a lot. THANKYOU JEFF BECK AND CO!!! Cynthia Allen McLaglen

Holy shit. What a band! There are guitar gods and then there's Jeff Beck! Those sounds, no pedal board in sight. His musical choices and sonics are phenomenal. Knocking down and carrying a solid fusion, rock, blues set for 90 min. is insane; what can this guy not do. We are all blessed to have experienced his artistry. I can't help but just love him.

jeff happens to you when you are ready for it. i had trouble digesting him for two decades. now i can't listen to anyone else. if you are an electric guitar player, you will find that with practice and commitment, you will ultimately come sit at his feet. it's about expression. i cry when i listen to him, no other (guitar) player does that to me. you have to develop the emotional SPACE within yourself to let him in. i totally understand what you are saying, and you are not alone.

Oh man, this guy! RIP to the genius/innovator guitar God Jeff Beck. A tremendous loss to the entire guitar community which held him in the utmost reverence. His playing was completely unpredictable. His style, one of one. Enjoy your retirement on Mt Rushmore.🙎🎸

I've seen every group Beck was in since The Yardbirds, and i must say this might very well have been his best.I remember seeing him at the Hammersmith Odeon in London with Simon Phillips and Hymas on the keys and thinking he's never going top this band.I saw him with Terry Bozzio and thought OMG,and i've seem him with Jan Hammer, with Tal And Vinny Coliuta and different settings such as his rockabilly and Les Paul dabblings. But this band was absolutely magical, him and Jennifer had a chemistry that was incredible and this rythym section was rock solid. This concert shows what this man is all about, a sheer musical genius,he does not just play the guitar,he is THE GUITAR!!!

Jennifer Batten does not get enough credit for her virtuosity! To be able to hang with and perfectly complement Jeff Beck is something very very few guitarists could pull off, and she did it brilliantly!

This is not true, why do people always say this bullshit about their "underdogs"? She does get all the credit for her career, only the cream of the crop played for MJ or JB, let alone both. Thank God she didn't play for that douchebag Ozzy. But you just can't expect anyone to get exactly the same credit when the stage owner is Jeff Beck.

+K.K. Smith I agree completely - absolutely phenomenal playing!  Shame it's ruined by all the noisy tw@ts in the audience who feel compelled to ruin the quiet sections for everyone else with all their whooping and hollering. Why they can't wait until the end of the track to show their appreciation is just beyond me.

Well said. The greats are now so old and getting older (just like us all). It’s like when all the big blues and jazz greats died. Eras come to an end. Sadly, we will continue to see our beloved music heroes die all around us and at a quickening pace.

I saw Jeff on this tour and at first we were all saying "Who is that woman playing with him?". After a minute we realized it was Jennifer Batten! If you look at all the other players that came out of the 60's that are still playing Jeff Beck stands alone if only for his uncompromising standards and top-notch musicianmanship. His take on the blues remains fresh, inventive and vital.

I started with the Yardbirds and continued to today in late 2023. I saw them twice live and both 3 man bands were great. Not every body kept up with Jeff Beck but he adapted well. He was my favorite from his early 1970s to his death at, I think age 78.
