The entire video this song came from is just fire 🔥 Live at Ronnie Scott’s
When I saw this video for the first time after it came out I was blown away. Not just this song but the whole show. I hadn't really listened to Jeff Beck since Blow By Blow and Wired. I quickly jumped back on the bus.

Jeff gives two hauntingly beautifull solos in this amazing song
Oh that was nice! Beautiful vocals & tasty guitar work. I'm with you SAD - this Beck guy has a bright future ahead of him! 🤣

Oh yeah 😆
This whole Ronnie Scott's video is pure gold. But this song, more than other, shows how good Jeff Beck could be as an accompaniest. That is an under appreciated talent. It takes someone who can actually LISTEN to a singer and provide "filll" for them. It's harder than most people know, and Rod Stewart once said Jeff Beck was the only guitarist who ever "listenen to him" and played with him to support him.
Some of my favourite melodic guitar playing of the concert. He'll use a pick for a fast song like "Scatterbrain", which would be a lot easier that way, and would wear his fingernails down to nothing if he had to play it night after night without one. At the end of "A Day In The Life" they show Jimmy Page in the audience, and for an encore Eric Clapton gets up and jams.
FYI that’s Vinnie C on drums. FZ alumnus …
This is some hot sh## isn't it folks? I love it. If you guys don't follow up with her next tune from the same show, " Rollin and Tumblin" I'm going to cry 😭 Jeff is strictly a finger and thumb guy, a Master of the whammy bar and.... He uses a lot of baby powder 💭
Jeff always plays with his fingers. That was quite some lineup on stage that night (I was there - you can weep now). The front of the audience was thick with musicians wishing they had half that talent.
Never heard of the vocalist, but I was listening to Jeff Beck since early 70s. Nice one. Y'all explore mind tunz.
RIP Jeff.
Please remember that Page and Plant were at that super show.
My favorite Jeff/Imogen collaboration is a little something called "Dirty Mind." You just might need a shower after listening to that one. And you know you want to.
Jeff Beck......GOAT
Viking chicks got soul, too.
Jeff Beck is just so creative... in his own class.
R.I.P. JB!
Jeff's hand-picked harem. Met Imogen at an art show in France .. and Tal Wilkenfeld is a delightful person - you know Carol Kaye is smiling down.
The drummer is Vinnie Coliauta, he's massive.
Beck stopped using a pick in the '80's. More control in his right hand. Volume knob, whammy bar ring finger and pinky.

Another masterful thumb strummer from way back in the day was Wes Montgomery. Totally different eras, genres, and styles, but both Wes & Beck have freakishly nimble thumbs!

Thanks for the info Matt!
Imogen is a musical and tech genius- her concerts are fantastic. She’s been copied by many.
This was the third time I suggested this in the polls, so glad others voted on it too. Glad you picked up on the intimacy of the place. It was also a test for the band...any mistake can easily be picked up. Think Imogen is wonderful and showcases it here. To paraphrase a comment I saw about Jeff "some guitarists are slaves to their ego's whereas Jeff is a slave to the song" Think that's what sets him apart from most. Jeff seems to play mainly with his thumb, never seen anyone use it as much. Tal is 20/21 here. There may be many but one thing Jeff has in common with Zappa...They both dumped Bozo and moved on to a better drummer in Vinnie😀
