We never paid that much for ours, we bought a nice used JK 2 door hardtop for 14k with 53k miles on it. I've taken that thing places only people will take their RZRs.

What was the first clue? Oh wait, the 38” tires without a lift……It’s too bad Jeep won’t allow you to order the Sport, or similar lesser trim, with the 392 engine so you can make a mall crawler and not spend the extra $$ for all the Rubicon stuff this guy will never use.

I had half doors on my 92 YJ so I took newer users for a TJ cut and welded the pin did some trimming and bsm upgrade. Love it

I’m about to pull the trigger on the basic Sport Unlimited w/ standard soft top + half doors. Did you have any issues with the paint color match? Happy with the decision?

I want those half doors for my jeep

Smart choice I would go FJ, but love the look of the Bronco. Jeep’s not bad either.

Back in the day half doors were the cheapest option for those who didn’t want pay for a hard option. Paying $$$$ for these doesn’t make sense, just roll down the window and enjoy a cheaper and safer option. They should have made a complete soft door like the one that came with the CJ7s. It’ll be a lighter, cheaper and easier removable door that makes sense.

I remember having half doors on my JT Jeep. It was a Bitch when the zippers got stuck in the winter time 🤬, and all of the heat goes out😡. Or it's summertime and all the cold goes out the window somewhere because they have zipper stuck. 😓

The dollar bill and flashlight trick.....can that be used for JK/JKU owners? Seems like a good way to address leaks in the tops. Wished the JK/JKU hard top windows could be removed liked that. I'd be happy if I could have a sliding window for the rear panels like you see in those Ursa Minor camper tops if I couldn't remove them. Not sold on those 20" rims.

I was right with my comment in the last video, 1/2 doors with the power top look like the TMZ Tour bus (time = 15:39) haha. I think they (1/2 doors) only look good with entire top removed.

Totally agree, half doors and that top clash. But I've not been a fan of that top since it was released. I'm a no-top no-doors kinda guy.

They should make the half doors with soft uppers as standard equipment like they did with yj and tj when ordering a jeep with a softtop. Full doors could be upgrade option bundled with hardtop. Then, for the big spenders, offer the dual door OPTION. Keyword is "option"

I think that style looks best too! I wouldn't get a jeep just for comfort and convenience, but to be more versatile in various weather conditions along with offroad capability.

Sting-Gray. Unique color…I’m ordering it in the basic Sport Unlimited w/ half doors.

Love the ride AND the half doors! But I hate the uppers. Wish they had something like the back window with color match material that you could opt for instead of the soft uppers, or just glass windows that rolled all the way up.

Jeeps I love, Quadratec I love, $80k pricetag on a Jeep I don't love. I wish Jeep would get back to the simple style of the older CJ and YJ platforms. Once the TJ hit the market, they were getting carried away with the dash and mall crawling style.

Yes

You need to use a goose neck attachment for the door hinge, and a power drill, used to take me so long taking off all doors, now I can do it in less than 10 mins.

Too much tire 35's would've been perfect but it still looks nice

Paint it. Should be a simple DIY. But if you have 392 money, any paint shop should be able to do it.

What offset are those wheels?

Do those upper halfs flap open when driving at high speeds like the bestop aftermarket ones? I loved those but it was horrible driving with them on, I had to use bungees to keep them from flapping open

The design on these uppers is very similar to the design on the Mopar JK half door upper. Those have no flapping problems at all. Very sturdy construction vs the thin metal frame you are talking about.

When are these dual doors going to be available aftermarket?

I had a 86 scrambler, and a 90 wrangler. Both had full, soft and half doors. I can see what an absolute pain in the ass owning a newer jeep is in comparison. It would literally take me less than one minute to swap from one style door to the other. Never needed to mess with alignment from one door to the other.

you only align them the first time you install them though. After that they're set and it's the same quick procedure every time.

So let’s say I’m off roading and open the door will the step things just break off when they hit a rock? I don’t get this build. 38s look like too much with out a lift.

Those step sliders, are a true rock slider, and when the step comes in contact with resistance, it stops, you would have to work really hard to break them off. Here is some more info on the steps for you: kzread.info/dash/bejne/oJ-Zl9BycZqxm5c.html His lift is on the way from teraflex.

I’ve been trying to obtain half doors for my 2018 JL ever since they started offering them. Tried dealers, bump shops, part wholesalers. Final answer- order a new Jeep or buy each piece separately and put them together. Hope you are right and Jeep starts selling them.

Meh. They're full doors with frameless windows IMO. They aren't as low as Wrangler half doors. But I hear ya.

Which watch case and strap are you using?

I’ve been struggling adjusting the uppers’ tilt. One thing nobody tells you that is important, is if you adjust the tilt on one leg of the upper, then you should adjust the tilt of the other leg on the upper exactly the same, or the upper will get stuck inside the door and removing it will scratch the painted metal of the half door at best or at worst break. Also there is no way to tell if both legs are tilted to same exact angle, or how far of a tilt is too far. When you tilt too far then screw is on an extreme angle and causes upper to get stuck in half door and again scratch paint or break leg. I think there are too many moving parts which makes it fragile and gives it a shorter lifespan. I miss the half doors on the JK which had stronger legs and more sealed protected holes in the half doors. Don’t get me wrong I love them. They are just a lot more fragile than the JK half doors.

I still don’t understand the point of half doors. Aren’t they essentially the same thing as a full door with the window rolled down?

They are way more open than just rolling the window down.

i like the doors and wheels just like they come from the factory. to me no upgrades needed or wanted. for 77k you should love what you bought and not ruin it with these addons

The beauty of a Jeep is taking the doors off. So I don’t quite understand the “half doors”

So sad the doors are so expensive 😭😥😭

I thought very easy to install. I was however disappointed that the uppers try to wing out when driving 70, as in the wind grabs them and creates a half inch gap at the top of them. My 2010 Jeep came with half doors from the factory, and they overall fit a lot better, and we're not at all affected by the wind. Another disappointment is the strap handle, a very cheapy design that is difficult to quick grab if the wind tries to slam your door into the parked car next to you at Walmart. Considering I paid 5 grand extra for these 4 half doors for my Unlimited, these doors should have at least been the same quality as my 2010 Wrangler, if not better.

Jeep Karens be like ”no doors is not good, doors is not good, I have to have half doors”.

I don’t understand the half door thing ? You pay a ton of money to have a door with no glass in it. Then if you need the glass you put in a piece of plastic in the place of the glass. What am I missing here ? You didn’t remove the B pillar so it looks the same just kinda unfinished.

Or you could just keep your windows rolled down
