People use them as road princesses... they "need" AC and luxury seats... I see jeeps being driven by younger women (23) than people who use them offroad. They are willing to pay that price and Jeep keeps selling them for that much. Safety regulations don't help with the price... Airbags and sensors everywhere rack up the cost.

$64K for this?? That’s only about $10K less than the new Lexus GX550 Overtrail, which is way more truck with way more amenities. I had a 2-door Rubicon I bought in 2014, and I ended up paying mid $30K’s for it. Even with inflation, this is a $50K rig max.

This is a 35k vehicle, who the hell is paying for these things??? Id love to blame the manufacturer but they’re only arriving at these price points because people have been paying as prices climbed. Stop people! Just stop and learn some financial literacy for heavens sake. I remember wanting to slap every idiot who paid 70k for broncos when they first dropped, they were literally screwing the rest of us normal folks by sending false signals to ford that idiots were willing to pay 70 grand for a 30 grand bronco. I guess everyone thinks they can afford a 60-90k truck now that you can get a 50 million year loan. No one knows how to save their money and be patient for a few years, smart phones must be melting our brains so we have no impulse control anymore. If you buy this, im sorry you’re an idiot, there is no excuse, and you’re ruining it for the rest of us.

@@sternumboy1this is something people don’t understand, they still have the base model, and they have fully loaded versions like this. Along with many upgrades since the 80s, it’s a much better vehicle, inflation is a big factor in those price differences, as well as more and better technology. People saying 40-50k is a lot for a new truck but don’t say anything about paying 30k for a compact sedan. Inflation goes up, prices go up. Thats just how it works. I bought a 2015 mustang gt premium new in 2015, it was 40k, it’s right about 53k now with inflation only, nobody complained about that price 9 years ago. Now the same mustang is going for 55-60k with more technology too, they’re also complaining about that price being too high now as well. People don’t understand basic economics.

Also the best deal from jeep. I think jeeps are kinda crap theyre just useful in terms of utility. You can drive them over a rock unlike in a civic. But to me theyre junk. So you pay a lot just to have it wear out and not in. They want you to buy another one later when theyll cost even more. So i think you gey the 2 door and its the most useful one if you dont have people to haul around. Its the smallest one. You pay for less parts. Less parts to break. You only buy half the doors. Less windows less door locks. That stuff adds up if youre just trying to go exploring alone or with one other person. But it still costs a pretty penny. Considering its a stellantis fiat product. Thats kinda scary to me.

It started when they sold AMC Brand to Dodge/Chrysler , initially pretty good with adding in the Rubicon package. But once it went to Daimler ,Fiat and Stellantis that Brand was ruined by corporate greed and the fact they wanted to push the european trash cars on us. They took a Jeep in 06 and made it larger and bigger softer more tech advanced and less reliable to appease soccer Moms and Hipster doofuses. A bronco can't hang offroad with an overbuilt custom 2 door wrangler, they are pretty much the perfect offroader without going full tube buggy. They have a lot of tradeoffs in every other way, they are not at all practical, they are terrible for any long distance, but they sure are tons of fun for what they are intended, like what every kid thinks driving a truck is like. That's why, that and mall crawling. Why Jeep thinks anyone would want thier way overpriced wannabe factory version when old jeeps are better for that is another question, again probably mall crawling and also someflexing to the neighbors.

for the offroading I would be willing to do in a 60k+ vehicle the bronco is more then enough. I rather daily the bronco and do moderate trails and have an old TJ wrangler or XJ cherokee that I can full send on more intense trails. Fact of the matter at the price point of these cars and this hobby less then 5% of all jeep owners even do intense trails that even require the articulation that solid front axle provides, the other 95% that overland and mall crawl can be in any IFS vehicle that rides WAY better on the road. @@danb.709

My last several Wranglers (a few of them AEVs) have all been four-door, out of practicality considerations, but I still love the traditional Jeep-ishness of the two-door. It looks great with that lift and those tires. The current, post Pandemic prices of all higher spec trucks and Jeeps are too high, but I think the same market forces that caused that increase will work in reverse to bring them back down. I’m actually more concerned about the Jeep engineers as a group, including the ones at Moab. Many of their colleagues were suddenly let go, via a group Zoom call, apparently in conjunction with off-shoring engineering tasks to other countries. That’s terrible, for the ones laid off and their families, and for the morale of the remaining US engineers. Come on Stellantis.
