Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Are you in the market for a UTV? Have you ever wondered if a Polaris Ranger is right for you on your farm or at your cabin? Or have you ever thought about a classic Jeep CJ to be used as your utility vehicle? Each have many pros and cons, so come along as we look at the good and bad of the new school Polaris Ranger and the old-school, original UTV: the Jeep CJ5!

Nice thing about the old jeep is that if it breaks down on you out on the trail, you can probably get it home using a hammer, a couple wrench’s, and a coat hanger. Try that with the Ranger! 😂😎

As a jeep owner myself i prefer the jeep any day, its more useful than that go kart with a bed.

One huge difference between the two is the speed at which you can tackle obstacles and run down the trails. The Jeep will likely go wherever the Ranger will but the Ranger would do it much quicker and much more comfortably than the CJ. That said....the CJ is all sorts of cool and would be the one I'd pick if I had to choose.

My wife and I are in for a CJ. We did this comparison months ago. I can’t maintain a side by, but anyone can work on an old Jeep. And $10,000 savings.

If I'm not mistaken, I'm pretty sure you could get a hydraulic dump bed for the CJ back in the day. I vaguely remember seeing it in that old black and white promotional that Willy's made to go over their catalogue of add ons and accessories. It was circa late '40s/ early '50s. Edit- So I looked it up after typing up this comment and I was wrong. You could get the dump bed for the Willy's pickup. The CJ had a extended bed you could put on the rear so you could throw more stuff in the back and I'm pretty sure I had those mixed up. Here's the vid if any of y'all want to watch it. kzread.info/dash/bejne/p2uHzsdxiJerirA.html

As someone who uses a CJ for general purpose off-highway use, there is no comparison. Hitch a 32 ft RV to that ranger and see how far it gets... or recover a buried 3/4 ton Chevy. Good luck! Cool video man. Nice tuxedo park

For purely sentimental reasons, I pick the CJ 5. I used one to hunt mulies and antelope on my uncle’s ranch when I was in high school. Great video.

The Jeep can rust? Yes. But the Polaris PLASTIC can get old, faded, and crack. I own the exact same Jeep, just one year older and White in color. :)

Without adding an overdrive kit or a new transmission, changing out the gearing in your differentials will help with your speed issue. That 4 cylinder can get you up to 65 comfortably, on a clear day, but I find if you are going against a strong gust of wind, it will struggle at 65, 55 is more likely in bad weather with a 4 cylinder. Something to play around with.

That looks like some really nice property and off road comparison of the Jeep and the Polaris. Next video you ought to compare on the road capabilities and then, Oh wait, the Polaris isn't on road legal. Dang. Jeep wins.

Can't say with this particular side by side, but at my local central Florida off road park 10,000 acres . On the main trails I often see them stuck in mud because the tires aren't tall enough with the suspension components hanging down and a jeep/ truck ruts Many times I wait as they get pulled out and effortlessly drive my 3 inch lifted front locked jeep wj right through..many times Definitely want tires as tall as the jeeps if you want to drive the jeep groove

I have a CJ5. 1973. Are those new machines faster, smoother riding? Sure. But my jeep has been around for 50 years and will be around in another 50! I have a chevy v8 in mine! Its a versitile platform, i can put the big axles -tranny , tires ect on.... Let me know when your new light weight buggy is scrap , ill come CRUSH it for ya haha. You look way cooler in a nice vintage American made vehicle! Unless you LIKE the golf cart look haha. One is easy to fix noatter what breaks...the other is almost impossible to fix on your own.. The chooce was clear to me 😊
