I sure hope! ☺️ It’s fun having them enjoy some of this with us! They have their own personal rescue coming along very soon too!
Your children are a delight! Value this precious time with them because believe me, in an eye blink, they will be all grown up and leaving home. Thanks for sharing and best regards from Ireland.
I love that you got your kids involved in cleaning it out! You have a beautiful family! Great video!!!!!
Low Buck Garage had exactly the same issue with the 258 fuel pump on a late 1960s Cherokee, he found eventually that the pump with the ‘two towers’ flows around 7psi. That pump you purchased will be triple that

Was about to say the same thing. Certainly some factory got the spring wrong in those mechanical fuel pumps.
You and your old man have been killing it lately. Thx for all the video’s. I really like this channel
Those AMC I6 are immortal.
My first vehicle I bought when I was 18 was a 72 CJ5. 304 V8, 3speed, headers,4 barrel. It had 12" wide tires on 15" wagon wheel rims. It was an absolute beast! Climbed like a goat! But like all Jeeps the body literally rotted off the frame. I had a lot of good times and great memories with that truck.
Man, between you and Derik this week with VGG, ya'll are killing me. I had a 91 Wrangler years ago before my girls were born and got rid of it soon after my first born. It was, without a doubt, one of the funnest vehicles I've ever owned. Nothing like taking the top and doors off and just taking a ride.

You and Pole Barn Garage are the best in the "worst, rusted out, and messed up" cars category! You guys really can find some "winners!" 👍👍
Yes. Just seen it today. Your new fuel pump. If it’s a Delphi take it back. Puts out nearly 17 psi. Needs to be 1/2 of that

cool video, cool father, cool life
I love you pack everyone in and doing some bush busting, that was awesome!
Awesome to see the hole family enjoying this treasure 🙂 Here in South Africa, original pre wrangler jeeps are scarce but jeeps in general remain my all-time favorite vehicles.... Love the channel guys!!
My goodness I can’t believe how big your kids are getting over the last few years!
I had a very cool blue 1977 CJ5...loved it.
A good vacuum pump comes in real handy for testing vacuum operated stuff. It also keeps you from sucking in mouse poop! LOL!...
I’m having the same problem with my 304. Thank you for finding this
Been driving Jeeps for 34 years, my first was a CJ5 from a yard sale on Lake Superior.
Good thing the previous owner installed that passenger hand rail for the wife! Good to see the family enjoying the trail, pretty cool section you have there!!
The spider crisis was just what I needed today! Thanks!
Sometimes you have to get a pressure regulator and put it in the line between the pump and carb. They are not that expensive. Normally between 3 to 5 pounds are all you need.
I haven't finished the vid yet, but @lowbuckgarage had the same fueling issue you had, brand new Delphi pump had way too much fuel pressure. Napa had a non Delphi brand and solved the issue. Had almost 8 lbs at first, when he got the Napa pump it was around 4. Softer spring in the Napa pump got him less pressure. And just got to point where you found the problem lol. Funny, he had the same issue in this week's video!

Like Mork and Mindys, ask your dad about that show Michael 😂😂
perfect car...everythign is flat metal easy to weld, everything exposed easy to get to,easy to work on engine,if i had one i would never sell it
I learned to drive a 1965 CJ5 handed down through my family. Ours had shifter on the column with a warn overdrive. I wish I had it to this day but it was handed down to my two younger brothers for them to learn to drive and use. Stayed in the family 55 years but my driving on the beach in Florida just eventually ate the frame up. Thanks for the memories.
Glad to see the kids helping.
I enjoy watching your videos and good to see you working with your dad. You’re a great mechanic and been following you for a long time.

Hi Michael and Guest nice video 📹 and workmanship and the Jeep is nice Buff to a gleaming shine !!!
took my bride on our first date, offroading through the woods in my 1948 willys CJ2A, made a path, drove through a pond. Almost flooded it in the water when it got stuck,, she had to crawl out across the hood and jump to dry land so I didnt cover her with mud when I began to really floor it to get out. We are celebrating 22 years together. we still laugh about that old jeep

Excellent picture Budget Buildz Mike :) , Your Dad :) yes my one Cousin Lorne has 1976 Jeep in black color , he got 33 Mickey Thompsons and use as Plow also bring boats for storage in Winter at all year homestead in Cottage County Of Ontario Canada! He used bring to farm with camping trailer years ago to help my dad and uncle take crops off in feilds in July to October when holidays from fire department in Toronto Ontario he did ! My cousin Nancey she has 1994 Suski Schmarotto 2 door she 4×4 in off road trails with she had done very well keeping in good condition! Had since new in 1994 when got her full G driver license!
I tell ya Man, don't see your wife too much. What a beauty! What a family! Cheers to you and yours. Beautiful people.
Hey that's very cool! Oh, it's just another six cylinder. yay......
My Dad had a couple old Willy's cj2 Jeep back in the day he used to take us 3 boys plus our mom ridge riding we called it Jeep riding fun times.
I'll tell you what. I learned something so simple that I have never thought about until watching this video. Filling up your oil filter in the box. Yeah, I know most of you know this, but it's a good tip. Saves cleaning!
I had an old CJ5 I rebuilt to pristine condition. It was a really fun car. I sold it easily for top dollar. Kind wish I would have kept it. That and my Volkswagen bus camper van were my favorite cars.
GREAT FAMILY FUN NICE TO SEE THOSE KIDS TURNING WRENCHS
I had a 75 CJ-5. I loved that vehicle, and it was so easy to work on!
Awesome video brother 👍 I ain’t gonna lie I about died when you started spitting out whatever was in that hose and later on when that seat fell over I lost it lol 😂 glad no one was sitting there hahahaha 😂
Check Low Buck Garage explain that fuel pump problem. When you took that pump out the box I just knew what was going to happen
From what I've heard about marine applications with mechanical fuel pumps, you need to shim or space out the pump from the block to get the proper pressure. I suspect that is the reason they supply two gaskets now a days. Worth a try.
Awesome to see the kids being excited! I remember when my dad took me in his Land Rover Series III off-road and I never forgot that ride. 😊
my parents were both in the military back in the early 70's and my stepdad came home with a military all green jeep like this one you have and he took me and my younger sister 4wheeling.in a field.in Pensacola Florida and boy was it fun BUT I was sitting in the same passenger seat as my sister (we were small) and a big tarantula popped into the seat that me and my sister was in and just sat on my sisters leg and she had shorts on, it didn't move but sat there and she saw it and screamed crazy, so my stepdad which driving just grabbed it off her leg and tossed it back in the field, all this in one of those military green jeeps, I remember it being in perfect shape and this was in the early 70's
You guys are quite amazing. Brilliant skills on show, educating thousands at the same time and not giving up. Your kids will have memories for life in that Jeep.
Funny you said that ... my first LEGAL drive was a 78 cj5
Looks like yall had a blast
I love your channel, can’t wait for the next one!
Love it! I had a '78 CJ5 back in the late 80's-early 90's. That 258 straight six is one bulletproof engine. You can put it in 1st gear in 4 low against a tree and step out of it and watch it slowly dig itself into the ground, lol.
I have a 77 CJ7 that I daily drive. It was a barn find, I slowly restored every system and upgraded evertying I could to make a fun vintage family criuser. Take the top off and cruise around town or in the mountains. Man I love this Jeep. Keep up the good work on your CJ5, I can't wait to see it back on the road permently.
Low Buck Garage had the same problem with the fuel pump.
Great stuff guys
Another channel had a new jeep fuel pump that was way over pressure from Napa got a different one and worked fine
36:18 i love seeing a family have fun together great video and old cj jeeps have a soft spot in my heart.
Nice work getting it running again…
Thanks, you brought back many fond memories, I used to take my daughter wheeling in my ‘72 cj 304 that i rebuilt from the ground up. She loved it, that was 30 years ago. Fast forward to now, retired and just acquired a ‘74 cj5 304 and am going to do start tearing her down tomorrow. Thanks for the video, and the memories, you have a wonderful family and We will be following you.

Good morning from Cape Cod ⚓ 10 years old in 1974, I learned to drive a 1953 Willy's Jeep. Good memories. Yeah the only drawback to owning a Jeep is all the rust, especially here in New England 😂 it was great watching you and your family having a good time. Keep up the great work guys 👍✌️🇺🇲
The best things in life!
When you go to buy stuff like a fuel pump, etc. for that engine, tell them it's for a 1974 Gremlin. It will be the same part, but since it doesn't have Jeep stamped on the box it will cost you about 20% less.
nice little easy revival. Should be a fun project.
That was definitely an adventure!!! Living the best life
Too bad its so rusted out, it's a classic !! Your kids are adorable !! Great video as usual
The noise your hearing is not the throughout bearing, it is the transmission making the noise while in neutral with the clutch out. The throughout bearing is not engaged with the clutch out, only when you push on the clutch in is the throughout bearing engaged, if the throughout bearing was engaged at all times it would wear out very quickly. You can use a fuel pressure regulator to keep the newer fuel pump from flooding the carburetor.
Two blue sweaters, you can't tell who is who! Look forward to see what this will be the donor to!
SAME ISSUE last year. I had my '75 CJ-5 flooding the engine with a chinaBay Carter YFA carb...turned out that after 3 different new mechanical fuel pumps I couldn't get the fuel pressure down. Ended up with a dead-head fuel pressure regulator and an inline gauge to give it 5-7 psi and it worked great.
Your dad looks like your brother and I always forget that haha
Finally a Jeep my dream car!! Please donsome to it like new tires and anything cool you can do to it!!
Last week I asked you to make a series on the Mercedes Pagoda. By coincidence I’ve some cars that you already worked on, like the 1974 VW Rabbit, 1976 Volvo 245 Wagon, 1989 BMW 320, 1978 MGB convertible and last but not least, while studying in California I had a 74 Fiat 124 Spider, like the one in the side of the CJ, that bring me lots of good memories. Kkkk So I waiting on a revival of this one. A real fun little car. Greetings
Awsome jeep guys😎🔥
Well done guys but please be careful with the little guy playing with that uni joint because if the cap slips off in his hand the rest of the joint could land on his head or foot. Now you’ve had your fun how about getting back to the GMC. Cheers Stuart.
Them kids were having a blast, nice seeing that for a change, other than on the devices kids have these days. That jeep is rugged.
You should restore that beautiful jeep.
Alright Budget Builder Mondays 🎉

I really enjoyed this video … very entertaining… loved it all the way 👍😀
"That was probably a mouse turd." 😂☠ we've all been there 🤝
Keeps, and AMCs in general, always intrigued me and gave me laugh the ŵay the way they used parts from the other auto makers. Jeeps would have GM ignitions Ford transmissions and mopar rears but somehow they made it all work.
Two handsome men riding in a CJ5. Perfect!
Good tow behind for the RV.
Noooo brakes!!! 😂😂😂
Hi Budget Buildz! I like the work that you made on car's, especially to see you working on an old RV. I also particulary like the car who have take fire and that you repair recently. The fact of seeing those 2 one's get back on the road and the works that you made on it is honorable. Beeing a french canadian, English is not my first languages.
