What is JEE? Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is conducted to offer admissions to candidates in undergraduate engineering programmes at IITs (Indian Institute of Technology), NITs (National Institute of Technology), IIITs (Indian Institute of Information Technology), and other centrally funded technical institutions (CFTIs) located across the country.
It is constituted by two different examinations; JEE Main & JEE Advanced.

Deadline is given only to apply, not to register. So, you can register at anytime. But, you can apply only when the application portal opens (i.e. Feb' 7 to Mar' 7 2023).

Candidates MUST bring the following documents on the day of the examination at the test centre. Candidates who will not bring these will not be allowed to sit for the examination. a. Print copy of Admit Card along with Self Declaration (Undertaking) downloaded from the NTA Website (a clear printout on A4 size paper) duly filled in. b. One passport size photograph (same as uploaded on the Online Application Form) for pasting on the specific space in the Attendance Sheet at Centre during the examination. c. Any one of the authorized photo IDs (must be original, valid, and non-expired) - School Identity Card/ PAN card/ Driving License/ Voter ID/ Passport/ Aadhaar Card (With photograph)/E-Aadhaar with photograph/ Ration Card with photograph/ Class 12 Board Admit Card with photograph/ Bank Passbook with Photograph. d. PwD certificate issued by the authorized medical officer, if claiming the relaxation under PwD category OR PwD Certificate regarding physical limitation in an examination to write as per Annexure given in Information Bulletin, if claiming the relaxation under PwD category. e. A simple transparent Ball Point Pen. No dress code is mentioned.

JEE (Main) is an entrance exam to get admission to NIT/IIIT/CFTI and acts as a preliminary exam for IIT admission. You don't get any work (job) by writing JEE.

For January session, you already got your JEE Mains result, but you have to wait till April/May, if you attempt JEE Main - second session in April. If your JEE Mains score gets you rank among top 2,50,000 Candidates, then start preparing for JEE Advanced (4 June 2023) without wasting time. Register for it from 30 April to 5 May 2023. After your JEE Advanced score is out, you will be allotted seats in prestigious engineering colleges through JoSAA counselling. Don't worry, if you don't get a good rank in JEE(Main/Adv). There are other good colleges accepting JEE Main Score, apart from NITs & IITs. Just relax, stay positive and shortlist the good engineering colleges that accept JEE Score. Apart from that, if there is time, just appear for other state entrance exams to get a seat in govt. Engineering colleges. Our state admits the students into state (private & Govt.) engg. colleges through TNEA counselling based on +2 cut off. No entrance exam.
