Janey, you need to come visit the California Botanic Garden here in Claremont, CA. The 86-acre California Botanic Garden is the largest garden dedicated exclusively to the state’s native plants. It’s absolutely gorgeous right now!

Jeb's garden was our favorite of the CNPS tour. Not only is he personable, he really knows his stuff (more than just a plant nerd!). And he's willing to share that knowledge. He hand stamped every single one of those copper plant tags AND used the botanical name. I'm bummed that he didn't have you experience more of the scent aspect of the garden. He had "stations" around the yard to "smell me" 😂. Very interactive.

Hi Janey,, I love your channel, keep up the good work. 🌷Can you please dedicate one of your KZread episodes on all the different ways you Fertilize your Annuals and Perennial Flowering plants. I am a beginner gardener and I am still not clear what Fertilizer to use, how much to use and when to use them. Thank you, I very much appreciate that. 🙏🥰

The Dutchman’s Pipevine is the host plant for the Pipevine swallowtail butterfly. The larvae eat the leaves and they have glands on their heads that look like mouse ears when they are frightened. Super cool!

One of the reasons I love your channel is your need and want to share other people’s love and care for plants. Lots of channels I watch don’t leave their gardens and what they are doing and I really don’t have a problem with that. But you move out of your comfort zone in an effort to learn and teach us other ways to garden , ideas and knowledge. I have only been gardening for 3 years. I am in the UK so nowhere near your zone. But I love learning outside of my own box and you do that so well. ❤

Won’t need attention but will look great and will fit the surrounding landscape! Snapping poppies so interesting. The corkscrew is kinda creepy lol tbh does Jen not have many pests in his garden with all the native plants? Seems like he wouldn’t cause these plants thrive in the wild. I have to check out the native garden tour!

I’ve been researching the different plants’ medicinal benefits. Including the manzanita. Janey it is absolutely fascinating and you need to think outside the box to ask the right questions to find out some amazing plant information. Fruit tree leaves can be higher in nutrients than the actual common fruit! Think apple cherry plum. We’re aware of the leaves for tea idea with raspberry also strawberry and blackberry leaves! Obviously beware the toxicity of some!! It’s a wide open opportunity for important knowledge of benefits of many of our backyard garden plants.
