B-Series VTEC engines are the GOAT.
“Send a rod to God” 🤣🤣 Beautiful engine internals. Looks new except for the cylinder & piston wear. Great video!

I love how easy and excellent you guys do the Honda motors , I really love b20b motors
I love B-series engines because they were so simple to work on and were so simple to put in other Hondas

Great catch!
Car care nut would of said “folks never take engine block to a machine shop” words of wisdom.

He also generally deals with doing regular repairs on relatively common vehicles, not performance builds with very rare engines that haven't been available new in decades and are insanely expensive used. Putting a new short block in Mom's oil burner Camry and building a rare race engine are two VERY different things.

Same "car care nut" would have a oil burning machine

ive never seen a valvetrain look that clean from a used and smokey motor. oil changes were done religiously, and rightfully so.

Love this content, i have my b16 waiting for some work like this.
My b18c4 burns a lot of oil at high rpm. Running 75-85 mph and burn 2 liters of oil for 250 miles. It burns a lot of oil after vtec kicks in. It kicks at 4300rpm and then oil is burned. It burns a little at low rpm but again is too much.
@ashermorales8276
Жыл бұрын
Sounds like it needs some piston rings
@BETNCORT
Жыл бұрын
you need to rebuild it....that is brutal....i had a b16a that would burn all of the oil inbetween oil changes if i didn't top it up....
@robertblack6630
Жыл бұрын
You need a rebuild before you destroy your block then that engine will be a waste.
@ahcgarage

As these motors age and wear, piston rings, valve seals and etc can cause oil consumption symptoms.
Be sure to hit up LHT Performance for some of their supercharger Griptec pulleys! And maybe a billet throttle body elbow if you can get one. They’ve been doing some old school JRSC R&D lately for both B and H motors I think.

@ahcgarage this teardown was very thorough and appreciated! Please make a video when you piece it back together, that would be absolutely amazing! Looking to purchase a b18c5 and rebuild it myself. I know body and paint, and can wrench a little (beginner/intermediate), and with this teardown video and possibly a rebuild video, I'd be very confident in accomplishing this goal!

How many miles did this have on it because damn outside of a little piston wear from what appears is from constant high reving...😂 This is a super clean engine, what a deal! Love me find one in this condition normally there trashed by some kid with a rod through the block...😥
@ahcgarage

We are not quite sure the exact miles, but it will be all new by the time we finish it 👍
Hope you replaced the oil jet bolts … banjo bolt goes bad and drops oil pressure
What EO does this engine use before?very clean

We are not sure
We broke our b18c6 without kind of smoke the 3 Rod broke block
paused the video at 26:33 and i died lolol
I need to so this to my type r what is the cost for doing something like this
@robertblack6630
Жыл бұрын
Paying some one to do all the work or are you asking just for the block completely done. Whole engine rebuild top and bottom on this engine done right is no more then $4k including parts. Now just a bottom end block job with bore, hone, balance, and more depends on parts should cost no more then $350 to $500 labor plus cost of parts if you are upgrading them.
@ahcgarage
Жыл бұрын
Answer can be very subjective due to many factors including parts, labor rate and work required, Stay tuned for a cost break down on this motor build.
😂
i know this is out of the blue but would you guys like to do a sponsored video on a 23 honda ridgeline ill bring the truck by see if you can get the sponsors to show off some new things addons and some performance upgrades
