Honda B18 Engine Tear Down | Extremely Satisfying
BE WARNED; This video is filmed and edited in a way that it is extremely satisfying for the viewer. Today I COMPLETELY disassemble my Honda B-Series (B18B1) motor to get it ready for some stronger internals. It was a super fun and rewarding learning experience that I was lucky to share with my girlfriend. Also, I swear this video is not ASMR.

    I have built countless B18s & B20s and I love this video a lot. It brings back such beautiful memories. It also reminds me of all the little spots I've bashed my hands against these motors. 😂 When he said "no way" when he cracked the crankshaft pulley bolt first try...I felt that on a spiritual level. Keep up the fantastic work!

    BULLI KID For Honda engines it’s just a backwards sequence from torquing down. Shouldn’t matter much here since he’s getting everything machined and will use ARP head studs for the rebuild.

  • @clemsondriver9214

    @clemsondriver9214

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@SlowDelSol If what is shown on the video is exactly how he did it (since the removal was edited with a lot of video cuts at that part) he wasn't doing that either though. Torque down sequence is center then alternating left center and right center moving outwards till you reach the ends. So removal is to start at the far end, alternate to the other far end and alternating until you reach the center. And it would matter if he plans on reusing those camshafts. Because the reason you remove cam cap bolts in the correct order is so that you don't potentially warp or bend the cams.

  • @MarcusPin

    @MarcusPin

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@clemsondriver9214 technically for removing the cams as long as you move from the center outward you will be fine, but for removing the head its kinda the same? not too sure as ive the whole "fuckin send it" approach to be the same results as "carefully remove according to Honda specs"

    What experience do you have working with cars. I feel like I would be able to take a motor apart but I woulda lost all the nuts and bolts already lol

    Angelo Put everything in ziplock bags and label them. Once you do it once you’ll see it’s not as complicated as it looks on a video.

    I've been working on cars since I was 13. Taking apart a motor is the easy part. Putting it back together is the hard part.

    I use rubber bands to hold the bolts in place as I disassemble the motor, also nut painted so I know they don't belong to the motor
